- Shakti is a collaborative project curated by Eshani Sathe , and produced by Kathak Nritya Mandir . SHAKTI is created in collaboration with the Apparel brand Suta.Bombay and Jewelry brand Aadyaa Originals , presented in the form of kathak .
Created with the following artists , this track is an ode to the feminine energy present in this universe, and celebrated in the Indian culture and its traditions - normally termed as Shakti .

thats the actual kathak which were performed by devdasi later got diluted in mughal courts, i request u to kinda use elaborate hand gestures in ur kathak performance , i really love ur dance and think u are and icon so it would really help this art form grow rather getting diluted and polluted in hands of bollywood
Kathak was originally temple dance( dating back to 400bce) dedicated to gods also called as devdasi , later it evolved into story telling and still remained as temple dance dedicated to Radha Krishna mostly performed by vaishnavism sect.
After mughals arrived kathak was transformed to mujra the dance of prositicute and was culturally appropriated later got diluted finally lost during British era when all dance forms stopped.
After independence kathak was bought back by birju maharaj in it orginal form and I hope people continue performing Kathak in its original form just like u♥️
Girl, stop spreading misinformation cus matters like the history of kathak dance can't be summerised like that. The dance didn't turn into mujra first off all, it got infiltrated by middle easter influences. Secondly it wasn't stopped during colonisation but practiced INDOORS.

Kathak uses more of local lokdharmic mudras and less mudras based on natyashastra

OMG... I never had an idea that Kathak can be that much beautifully performed as a temple dance. I thought it would be some Bharatanatyam or Kuchipudi dance performance in order to pay special tribute to Shakti Mata... but I was really amazed when I saw Kathak. It is truly mesmerizing performance. Simply the Best!!!

This seems to be very different style of Katthak, it's quite different from what we are usually familiar of... in a Good way that is... had it not been for this video, I wouldn't have known this astounding dimension of Katthak dance....

I've said this before and I'll say it again, read the scriptures and you'll understand that Shakti is not just the feminine energy, but energy is itself feminine. Shakti is the universal energy. The primordial energy at Big Bang, is Aadi Paraa Shakti which is of the form of the universe or multiverse.
Shiva Brahmaa and Vishnu are all children of Aadi Shakti. In fact they need energy to function as well - Shivaani, Brahmaani, Vaishnavi - without whom the 3 gods are as good as corpses.
does the shiva lying down like a corpse, when wife parvati disappear and kali appears/unleashes sort of, one of her feet over his body, a similar meaning ?
@@ismata3274 That has a different meaning. One of Aadi Shakti's manifestations is Nature. Nature is personified by Kali Ma ( the dangerous aspects) and Paarvati Ma ( the beautiful aspects). It's like when Paarvati turns fierce Kali Ma is the result eg. When a life supporting river turns fierce, it leads to deadly floods. ( Paarvati to Kali ).
And Shiva who was created by Aadi Shakti is human consciousness which is enlightened. So the image of Ma Kali over Shiva indicates that no matter how knowledgeable or powerful humans feel, Nature shall always be over humans. Nature does not discriminate. Global warming will kill everyone - those who are destroyinh the planet (asura) and those are trying to save it (deva). Kali Ma over Shiva says that when Apocalypse comes, no one will be spared from nature's fury.
That's why, you see, humans all through these years have exploited nature and now paying the price with floods and droughts and global warming.
