I was having trouble deciding on which higher end rod for my new bantam a reel...at first I was thinking of a G-Loomis rod as I have always wanted one..but with this video...the Megabass Levante flatside special looks amazing....will use it for lighter poppers/rapala original floater F7...
I will admit, when I clicked on the video, I thought exactly what you guys said $400/$500 a rod... $200 is do-able for a guy with a family that competitively fishes on my own dime. love these break-down videos. Keep up the good work.
Y’all are the best store and channel. I recently found you and have nothing but amazing vibes with y’all I seriously want to make a trip to AZ just to give y’all my wallet haha
I have the Orochi Launcher with the Tactical Handle. Should the "raised edge" on the rod be completely flush with the "raised edge" on the handle once they are put together? Without forcing the two pieces together, but still being quite firm, the closest together I can get the two pieces leaves about a 1/8th inch gap of "exposed" ferrel.
20:40 definitely crushed my jig fishing dreams 😂 I was really leaning towards the Braillist for a new jig rod. However you pointed out it’s soft in the middle and needs tension for the sensitivity to translate. I need that slack line jig rod like you described. What’s my best choice for that type of jigging in the Levante lineup? Or another $300 or less jig rod on the market? *nvm you answered my question immediately after in the video
HEY FISHBRO!!!i just got my Levante jerkbait special just an hour ago!,i matched it up with the Lew's custom lite and the sunline 10lb fc sniper !!! WOW!!!!🤪🤪
Great breakdown as always! Can't wait to get my hands on the Shakeyhead!! FedEx couldn't get here today with the weather, but no big deal everything is frozen anyway.
Do you think its possible to cast the 6in Magdraft freestyle on the EMTF with a #6 belly weight ? Im currently using a MH Shimano Zodias as a crossover for saltwater fishing with great results fishing the 180 jackall Dowzswimmer and the Magdraft. The only problem is that MH action tends to be a bit to stiff on some fish that pull hard and tend to straightened some tremble hooks. The EMTF seems like a good fit from what you mentioned .I don't fish anything bigger then 6in swimbait .
Just got my Levanta jerkbait rod and paired it with a Shimano 70MGL and it feels great in my hand. Light, balanced can’t wait to use it. I’m in St. Louis and of course it’s like the north freaking pole around here.
I just bought the Levante Jerkbait Special, you're correct in everything you have said about them. Amazing, love it. Plan on going down that road after other Levante's.
Was wondering how the Levantine jerkbait special rod been doing for Yll I also planning on getting one but want to ask people that have it or used it before
@@cantbeobtain916 I currently own several Jerkbait rods. It still one of my favorites, but has found a use for it with other baits is effective also. It's my go to Topwater rod as well.
Thank you guys so much at the hook up tackle love my new flat side rod it will be my new spy bait rod you guys have any spy bait 80 g fix or the spy bait 80 can't wait to put the silver megabass stickers on my boat been looking for those thank you it's always a pleasure doing business with you guys over the phone or online thanks Carmen for all the excellent fast shipping when are you guys getting your hats and shirts and stickers can't wait to represent now I'm going to go look for Orion ✌️
I’ve been really wanting to get one of these rods to use primarily for chatterbaits but would like to have versatility to throw other things on it if anyone could help recommend one! The Diablo spec r and the perfect pitch sound like they’d be good. I tend to throw 3/8 and 1/2 oz lures
Another great video Ben and Jeff my ? is would the Leviathan be to much for the 6in mage draft looking for that all around swim bait rod for 6in to 8in mage draft swim baits
Or is that just the 7’0 tour versatile ? I might try the Diablo spec 7’2 is that less tip heavy ? I’m gonna be fishing paddle tails soft plastics cranks pretty much everything please someone help !!! My last 7.0 zodias was not sensitive at all was stiff and I couldn’t catch shit on it I had a st croix mojo bass and I was hooking up stifff on loads of bass I forget the size I had 😢
Be aware, the tolerance on the Aklys is very tight. I mean tight. It took some effort to get it to line up. Balance was much better than I expected. It’s moderate enough to throw some bigger swim baits. I’m happy.
I scored a Leviathan like new one from a local guy for $150😱😱😀😀! Other than big swim baits what do you think would be great for this 7’11” leviathan rod please?? 🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I already have a cranking rod and a frog and jig rod and I’m looking for something to fill in the gaps like a go to medium heavy rod should I go with the tour versatile?
Best rod for walking baits and poppers...and 75-110 size Whopper Ploppers? Jerkbait Special or Flatside? Guessing Jerkbait Special? You did mention popper on the Flatside as well, which threw me off. Thanks!
I picked up Flatside Special, I plan on using for topwater primarily, is there a shimano or daiwa casting reel, to pair it with, you suggest. With it the $200/$250 range? Thanks in advance!
Would this be a good rod for a weightless t-rig senko or possibly pitching a 3/8oz beaver??? I fish the california DELTA alot so most of my fishing is tullies, grass, and wood.
I have a 703SF Dobyns Fury 7'0 Med/Fast Spinning Rod that I literally use for *EVERYTHING*. Jigs, Senkos, Neds, Topwaters, Crankbaits, Frogs, etc. I'm now wanting to purchase one of these casting rods to get a bit more technique specific. Which would you guys recommend? Diablo Spec R? Tour Versatile?
Would like to get the Flat Side for T-rigs and light jigs ... but how is the sensitivity? Does it compare to any other rods out there ? Better or worse ?
update: yoinked it out just now. 10/10 technique lol. the rod bonds very well guys/gals be sure to place your rod properly. i know from experience. a great rod though!
Can you reserve these? Would like to buy 5 at a time, i can put bunch money down, also assuming i wanted to sell some of my other rods whats best outlet? Or if accept trades ill even buy more at one time
Ben, great video. I am obviously late to the party since this video is a year old, BUT I wanted to get your opinion on how much of a "step up" the Orochi series is over the Levante series. I haven't even picked up a Levante, as where I live there are simply no shops / retailers that carry Megabass. I have handled, and own, an Orochi Enforcer and love that stick for tubes, heavier drop shots and paddle tail swimbaits on 3/8 oz head. What is your opinion on the difference between the Orochi and Levante lines of rods? I will hang up and listen to your reply. :-)
I purchased the shaky head and a 3000 sz vanford. I want 2 baitcasters as well. I’m almost 100% on perfect pitching (if available) and either the Diablo, versital or the emtf (if available) But I’m thinking that 7’4 enforcer for a heavy spinning will do justice as well. How would it hold up in salt water? To use for small reds and strippers matched to a 4000 vanford
Love your channel, great videos. Can you guys recommend a drop shot/Ned rig spinning rod? Currently use a 6’6” clary’s with Shimano Sahara reel. Looking for lighter and more sensitive, under $250. I like Shimano but why do all these makers have no place to hold the rod when you choke up? Who cares about foam or cork behind the reel. I know you have a video on this and I’m thing about the Megabass Levante?
Looking for an oversized topwater rod big walking baits like the Amazon from evergreen...is there one in this line up that would handle that well? I was thinking the perfect pitch possibly which would make it more versatile as well. Just curious to your thoughts.
What would you pick best for a kayak? The perfect pitch or the brailist? The Diablo or emtf? Ps. I can stand in the yak if that matters on your decision

Megabass are beautiful but they don’t balance as good as others. My Braillist Orochi and Levante balance 2 1/2” above the reel and my Dobyns 744sh balanced 1” above the reel.
For me, I own all 3 lineups. In general, Zodias for bottom contact due sensitivity and power. Levante for versatility due to great rod actions and Rebellion glass rods for cranks. Each lineup has their sweet spot model, but out of the three, Levante has the best technique specific rods. Of course the more I fish the new revised Levante my opinions will change.
I’m looking to get a spinning rod in the line up. I want a do everything rod but I prefer a longer length. I was thinking about getting the enforcer but don’t know if it would be too strong? I plan to throw 1/8 and up ned rigs and shaky heads. Would I be better off with the whip snake?
The shakeyhead would be a better do it all than the whipsnake. I have fished the Orochi Enforcer and if it was the only spinning rod I had I would be ok with that. You can toss a 1/8” Ned but it’s not ideal by a long shot while the Shakeyhead would load up well with that weight.
Probably one of the best videos. I keep coming back to this video whenever I am trying to figure out what baits to throw on which rods.
This video is really going to be killer for beginners looking to get into the Megabass lineup. Great job!

I have fished the Orochi Enforcer and if it was the only spinning rod I had I would be ok with that. You can toss a 1/8” Ned but it’s not ideal by a long shot while the Shakeyhead would load up well with that weight.
