I undertook a 10 year shamanic apprenticeship many years ago - it's an important part of my life. Usually I find videos talking about shamanism a load a crap, but you did well... Framed it up without making wild claims. Good work.

I have been working as a shaman for some time now. But I cannot call myself a shaman. I am simply a channel to other shaman spirits working through me.

Oh wow! just realising this was posted 5years back😊. and it came up on my feed today.
I am wondering why? especially because there wasn't anything in the content that carried any message or special relevance.
but I have a sense it's not accidental. and THAT'S shamanism at play😄.
apart from the fact that i enjoy every thing you share and how you say... the only thing that stands out for me (in context of the content) is the gladness i felt when you said "contemporary shamanism".
    intrigued by this mystery.😊
    ❤️🙏🏼

You’ve been such a mentor just from your videos. You’ve inspired me to study herbalism.

I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog. (And of course the videos too.) Over the past few years I've discovered that my meditative dreamtime practices have greatly augmented my herbal and energetic healing. In fact, I've come to recognize them as one single practice...like a tree with many branches. Thanks for sharing your journey! I'm looking forward to seeing how it continues to unfold. Blessings and Peace.

I love this reflection Michael. Mediation, journeying, herbwork all do seem like one great tree. The deeper I go the more I recognized just how interwoven everything is! Bright blessings on your path!

I was also deeply hesitant to accept I was called to be a Shaman in terms of the label. I didn't want to disrespect anyone. I still dont call myself one, but I agree with you. This did clear some things up for me, thank you.

I had my first shamanic journey after watching this. Wren was my power animal. While enjoying the warmth of a fire with my ancestors, they told me to eat meat. This is curious as I am vegan. I was then in the woods, arrow ready to release at a stag. I said thank you from the deepest part of my being and killed it. Afterwards I went over to the stag to say another prayer of gratitude. I am still surprised at this, it is not something I anticipated at all. Do you have any thoughts/ideas?

    • @AsiaSuler
      @AsiaSuler  8 років тому +11

It sounds like quite a powerful journey Amber! Wren's are potent
gatekeepers for the Otherworld, and it is a gift that they came to you
now. Sometimes we will receive very literal messages about our physical
selves... such as a recommendation to eat meat! That is a big change to
make as a vegan but I would stay open to synchroncities, perhaps if a
deer nearby you is hit on the road or processed with honor you might
consider partaking. Either way, do with this what you will... but a good
place to start would be to go back into the journey and try eating the
stag. Oftentimes in shamanic journeying we are invited to "take in" the
energy of other life forms and animals. The message might be to bring
this power inside of you, so you could start by simply going back into
the journey and giving it an honorable nibble. Good luck!

Wow! It does seem that I had a powerful experience. I will go back into the journey and see where it takes me. Thank you Asia for sharing your wisdom. I know I've said it before, and I'll say it again, you're such an inspiration.
