Thanks for the video. I went to visit the top section yesterday in the evening sun and a lovely spot to fish. I’ve not fished in about 30 years and I’ve just bought a rod licence to take my son who’s 8 and can’t wait!
Memories for me .. .. this was my first venue fished in 1963 .. .. cant remember if I fished a day ticket of perhaps Bfd No 1 .. .. two buss journey & trick across town with the gear at 10 years of age .. .. thanks for sharing with us
Great video sir, i was investigating Pool today for a future fishing trip with Leeds DASA, and wasn't sure about access for my father who would like to fish the rivers again but he is 80 and would need an easy swim. I have checked out your other videos of the Wharfe and they have saved me a trip to go and have a look myself. So thank you for all your efforts and I hope to start fishing there soon.
Lol! The local 'assault' on the Swale barbel starts on June 16th and carries on until March 14th! Thank f*** for the close season! At least the other Yorkshire rivers are relatively quiet during the season, as all the 'barbel boys' are obsessed with the same old stretches of the lower Swale!
@@ashleyalmond4463 I know the upper and middle reaches are relatively quiet. I have fished at Langton and Richmond. You know as well as I do that Topcliffe down to Myton is very heavily fished. At least the former Myton day ticket stretch (and now perhaps the former Bradford No 1 stretch at Topcliffe) will get some respite for a while now.

I'm pleased you enjoyed it. Hopefully it will attract more youngsters to have the same experiences.

The easiest swims are below the bridge. Tight lines
@@Charlyfarly2 Thanks, will give it a go.
Definitely a Red Kite. It has a forked tail. Good spot.
I just live on the other side of the bridge towards Harrogate
You do this every close season, it's nice, however come open season you'll be in your usual Swale pigeon holes.

@@portcullis5622 Mike after mile of the Swale hardly sees an angler.
