- This will be something new that I haven't done before on making a video like this. Shoutout to a friend of mine that got me into Kamen Rider which is @tobyalonzo. Today's video I will be checking out every Kamen Rider Opening from a long time ago and now. If anyone doesn't know what Kamen Rider is it's japanese with power rangers but different. When I was a little I love Power Rangers so much growing up and I want to know what Kamen Rider is all about. @@wetrisolesse619 I noticed it first when she was singing the opening for that season it’s crazy how some of these singers for anime are doing Kamen Rider it’s Amazing.
Favorite opening by far is Just Live More (Kamen Rider Gaim), followed closely by LiveDevil (Revice), Trust Last (Geats), and Anything Goes (OOO).

Another fun fact: The main actor for Kamen Rider Drive appeared at the beginning of the movie Detective Pikachu. He's the trainer in red that enters the stadium.

3:34 Yes in a sense, as Rider is the older sibling franchise to Super Sentai, the franchise that is the source material for PR. With both being fathered by Shotaro Ishinomori, who in fact was a manga artist, with one of his manga works being Cyborg 009.

I don't think I can compare anime or KR openings, one is live action tokusatsu genre and the other is animated, both are great.
When I first heard her singing this song it was amazing to hear her sing Kamen rider. I mean anime and KR sound the same for openings but of course there really good to listen too.
She was also a former member of JAM Project, the band with the most hot-blooded singers you could ever ask for!

I'm so glad that people are starting to recognize kamen rider gradually. I've been watching it for the past 2 years and it's so underrated. I recommend Build, Ryuki and Drive.

havent seen drive, but i have ryuki at my number 2 and build at 4. both are amazing, although my favorite is 555, and geats has been great so far too.

The most popular Kamen Rider in Japan is Kamen Rider Den-O!
I recommend it because the voice of the monster is done by the splendid voice actors who have appeared in various Anime.
By the way, my favorite Kamen Rider is Kamen Rider Kiva.
Kiva" stands for "King of Vampires.
Kiba" means "fang" in Japanese.

Fuuto PI sounds like an interesting show to watch I might put it on the list along with the other shows for Kamen Rider. I'm curious how the designs and story works with the other shows. @@jayroro7053 Fuuto Pi is the spiritual successor and considered the continuation of Double. Same characters, but following the events after double.
Also, for a couple of references, many Kaman Rider actors go on into movies. The lead of Den-O plays Kenshin in the live Rurouni Kenshin movies. The lead of Fourze played Ichigo in the live Bleach, etc.
Also, take some time if you can and watch what may be the ultimate Super Sentai/Rider crossover movie Super Hero Taisen. It's 10 years old now, but shows characters from pretty much every series up to that point in a hero faceoff.
Well we can say one thing only for sure, that Japan has mastered the arts of opening and closing themes XD

The actor for the main hero in Kamen Rider Den-O has been in a few live action anime movies, such as Rurouni Kenshin (as the man Kenshin himself), Ajin: Demi-human (kinda underrated in my opinion), and Inuyashiki. He's got a hobby of breakdancing.
He's Kenshin Didn't know that crazy how some these actors are anime voice actors and actors that are in live action.
The Japanese sentai series, which was the first original work of Power Rangers, was born from the concept of having five Kamen Riders fight together.
The person who first created the story of sentai and Kamen Rider is the same person.

Also, as you may have noticed, Kamen Rider Wizard (aired in 2012) was narrated by the voice actor who played Sanji in One Piece.
Incidentally, the narration of Kamen Rider Hibiki (broadcast in 2005) is the voice actor of Zoro in ONE PIECE.

Choosing a favorite Kamen rider opening gets harder everytime a new opening appeared. Though if I have to pick, it's OOO.

Decade is another good way to dive into multiple Riders without much if any spoilers. I'd avoid Zi-O for now as that spoils a lot from seasons before it. If I were to recommend a season, I'd say give Gaim or Ex-Aid a try >w>
I will add those seasons on my list for sure there’s many seasons I want to check out so bad they really good.
Kamen rider is cool in that you can pretty much pick up any series and just go in. Most of them are self-contained stories that don't require other series. The only exceptions are the anniversary seasons Decade and Zi-O. And even for Decade, the versions in there aren't the "Canon" ones, so you can watch it and get a taste of the other rider series shown in there.

I think some of the openings in this compilation had scenes from the summer movies, you didn't lost any meaningful stuff from it but its kind funny someone choose those OPs for a compilation.

Video is missing 1 or 2 more openings frol the first 1971 season
9:23 this is Skyrider, and this is the second opening, the video missed the first opening
11:52 this is missing Kamen Rider ZX opening, he's the 10th showa rider, and he had an opening that was pretty good, even though his season got canceled after the first episode
11:55 this is the opening song of kamen rider Black, but not the opening itself, it's heard better in the actual opening
16:12 this is a second opening of Kamen Rider Agito, that's very similar to the first opening, though imo the first one hits harder
23:03 this is Kamen Rider Hibiki and its second opening, the video is missing the first opening of Hibiki
26:24 this Den-o, from 2007, and this is the second opening, the first one is the same song just sang by an actual singer, this version is sang by 4 VAs that also work on the season as characters

I didn't know that it got adapted from Power Rangers to Super Sentai. I want to check out the openings so bad I heard its really good.
Also, the guy that sang One Piece first opening also sing both of the insert song from Kamen Rider Ryuki.
If you loved the openings, I highly recommend that you listen to the songs of transformations or rather the Insert Songs of their final forms that are crazy how incredible they are, just listening to one gives me goosebumps.😮
PD: Another thing that I also recommend is that you listen to the complete songs, it is another level to those that are television versions.

@@jayroro7053 If you have a question about why the video begins with kamen rider kuuga, the one that comes after Black RX is because that series was when the kamen riders began to have final forms, their most powerful version of them.
The main difference between Rider and Sentai (which later becomes Power Rangers) is that their power sources are usually different, Riders' powers are usually either sourced from or are straight up the same as their opponents' powers, while Sentai usually have the heroes wielding opposing forces of their opponents'

i dont know if anyone else has mentioned this, but the opening at 40:26 (called excite, the opening for kamen rider ex-aid, one that i highly recommend watching) was sung by daichi miura, the same guy who did the main opening song for dragon ball super broly (blizzard)
Kamen Rider is the oldest of the Toei Trinity which includes Super Sentai and the Metal Heroes. Starting on April 3, 1971, the KR series is a juggernaut that spawned an entire cultural boom of superheroes in Japan.
It is referenced in lots of Japanese TV shows, manga, games and movies either in parody or just straight up loving shout outs by creatives in the industries.
It is part of what I call the Heroic Five: Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Metal Heroes and Garo. Other superhero shows are also there throughout 70 years of Japanese media but none have had the same level of staying power…except poor Garo, wretched Covid halted its continuation indefinitely.
The secret to Rider’s longevity is:
1.its flexibility in tone: you can have fun goofy adventures one season or more serious and even darker ones the next time. Some even find a nice balance so everyone can enjoy at least one show no matter your age.
2. Unlike say, DC in movies, KR never apologizes for what it is and overcompensates with edgelord garbage. What you see is what you get.
3. The creativity of theming: this is the most imaginative franchise I have ever seen when it comes to superhero motifs.
Originally it was all karate bugmen, but now these belt bearers can be anything from dragons to fruit samurai to the upcoming alchemy steam train grasshopper.
4: Sometimes the action is well worth the wait, especially when you get people like Koichi Sakamoto in the director’s chair. The suit actors are part of the real reason the magic happens though, with decades of stunt experience under their belts, a solid VFX or practical effects team and proper direction, they can pull off mind blowing scenes.
I see you like kingdom heart and reacting kamen rider content. Let me tell you, kamen rider have fun playword, lore, concept, and I think "Drive Form" are inspired with kamen rider, for sure

When it comes to starting Kamen Rider. It's better to not think about what lines up or anything until you feel yourself really invested in the franchise. So, to start out? I always say look at which one you think looks coolest, and start with their show. Then go on from there.
To me I see build the coolest the most the opening for it was amazing and the suit for it too but geats I’m gonna watch soon.

The Pirate Ranger and Decade have the ability to morph or transform into any previous or future Ranger/Rider, there were super movies were sentai brought everyone back and KR did the same, and then there was a Super Sentai x Kamen Rider Great War movie where we had everyone from both Sentai and KR fight as well, it was so good......
There was a Great War for Kamen Rider and Super Sentai that sounds really dope to see. When I first saw the pirate Super Sentai show It reminded me a lot from One Piece.

Wizard sounds very interesting for the season. Most definitely on my list.
When it comes to Rider instalments you can start just about anywhere and still have a good time. When it comes to the Showa Era sessions there is a bit of a continuity that allows for crossovers so it helps to start with the original installment to get the idea but after that you can watch any of them you want but maybe consult the wiki every now and then for any shows you didn't watch yet. With the Heisei Era you can start anywhere you want, for that I would recommend Kuga, Kiva, Double, Gaim, Drive, Ex-Aid, and Build as good starters but you can pick any other ones that you like.

@@saiyaujeff8171 I'll admit that while I like Ace as a main character due to him being a rather magnificent bastard, I will admit that that the rest of the cast feel like the worst parts of Ryuki (AKA the entire show) and runs with them in the worst ways possible.
I'd also recommend Zero-One.
Gaim is the GOLD STANDARD. It is flawless.

For the first time, there was a crossover collab between Kamen Rider and Super Sentai (the original Power Rangers) where Capt. Marvelous, the leader of the Gokaigers, fought Kamen Rider Decade.
To preface, the Gokaigers have to the ability to transform into any and all previous Sentai members, and Decade is known as the "Destroyer of Worlds" because he has the power to transform into any and all Kamen Riders and use a good arsenal of their abilities, including their final forms.

Ryuki was my first, enjoyed W(Double) cause I like detective and mystery, while Build is my top pick.
Heisei bias, but that's the generation I got into. (Only Hibiki is one I didn't like much for whatever reason. Not to say I don't like Showa, those ones have fun posing and shonen'ish presentation which I loved about the old show.)
Yessah got another awesome reactions to these kickass rider openings! Even though it seems like you didn't mind it just gotta say that the special effects aren't the best and only get to be appealing in the most recent shows. But once you get passed that MAN! Every series has something appealing. The ones in the showa era from 1970s to 1990s have the cheesiness appeal whike still having awesome mature stories, the early 2000s heisei riders have more drama and dark tones while the late 2010s have like more energetic and flashy. Although a lot of people start with the reiwa era which is the most recent series. My personal favorite is Kamen Rider kuuga which is the most "realistic" with more drama, murdering, blood splattering, and crime thriller type of stuff going on. But the ones people recommend are mostly Kamen rider double or ooos cause they got a little bit of a balance of everything. I think there's a vid on which series to start with. You seem to already be into double thanks to your friend. Did he tell you that's there's an anime continuation? ALTHOUGH if you give the showa and early heisei riders chance it'll make the crossover events a much more epic experience!
Also DANG some of the footage in this vid seems to have footage from later on in the shows. Kinda weird they seem kinda short and that Shin, ZO, and J are missing even though those are technically end credits.
Seeing someone new to tokusatsu series like Kamen Rider, Ultraman and Super Sentai, in this case Kamen Rider is such a happy moment. If you want to start watching Kamen Rider, i'll only say that if you kinda fancy or at least interested on the suit design and theme, just watch it. As long time Kamen Rider fans, i can't argue that there's some season that's not fit my taste. I don't like calling it a bad or worst season like other ”fans" called 'em and it's better to called it kinda weak or meh. Why i don't want to call them that because even the so called ”bad" season have it's own fans and i mean real fans. So that's why my recommendation is just look at the suit and read the synopsis, don't bother with other people opinion, if you find the suit and the synopsis interesting, watch it. And one more thing, always remember that the main target of this kind of show is kids, specifically young Japanese kids and the main point of this show is selling toys, so always have a low expectation, but not too low, from the start, so if you feel the show doesn't meet your expectation, at least you will not disappointed and can still enjoy the show for the suit and action

If you wanna do Kamen Rider reactions, you could wait until the current season ends, called Kamen Rider Geats, since theres only some episodes left of it, and start with he newest one called Kamen Rider Gotchard, that will start airing soon, like i said, i recommend Kamen Rider Wizard, or Kamen Rider Zero one for a newer one of the current Era of riders

Remember Sogeking? well, he's basically heavily based on old school tokusatsu (the genre of shows that things like Kamen rider and Super Sentai/Power Rangers belong into) heroes, to the point that if you go back and watch the scene where he does an entire musical intro, the style of music and visuals used there is really similar to the first openings you saw in the video.

It's part of the way Toei promote the movies. Normally a season has 2 movies during its runtime and to promote them, they put some clips of it in the middle of the OPs. You can notice since the clips also have the movie titles in them.

1. Kuuga is the first tokusatsu that film by digital camera so can watched by 16:9 frame start from it.
2. I heard about that they think to put Blade as the last Kamen Rider before.

Ther was a show based on Kamen Rider in the west titled Mask Rider (wich means EXACTLY the same thing), I recall rewatching the western version cause I was board and saw a comment saying something along the line "This is a ripoff of Japanese series..." and wew years later I was again board as heck and thought "Lets see what that Kamen Rider (original series) is about" and once I didn't I was like "Not many special effects hear... I am so watching this 😁" and that's how I got in to Kamen Rider

As a lifelong fan of the franchise something I can tell you is that each series does their own thing with different genres. An example being that Kamen rider blade is much more serious in comparison to Kamen rider Den-O which is more of a comedy. The early 2000’s in general is more dark in comparison to stuff made around 2010 to present but you can still find stuff for more mature audiences
That’s what I was getting at some of the genres were kinda different from the other ones in the opening. Some of them have a darker tone from what I notice.

@jayoro7053 The Power Rangers you were talking about is Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger and yes they had the power of all their predecessors.
When it comes to wich season to start with Kamen Rider, any season can be your first time simce most of them are self-contained stories, you can start anywhere.
But there are exceptions. Kamen Rider Black doesn't connect so directly to the past seasons, but Black RX is a direct sequel, Kamen Rider Decade and Zi-O are anniversary seasons, the difference is that Decade occurs in alternative universes based on the past seasons up to Kuuga, while Zi-O is about time traveling through the past seasons.
Although there are movies that do connect different seasons to make a complete story and do even influence the story of the current season (not all, judt one that takes that movie in mind).
When the Ryuki opening played, and you asked if the Singer did the OG Pokemon opening, the answer is yes. Which, she is also Ash himself

If Germa 66 is based on super sentai, I like to think Sanji is based on Kamen Rider especially during the Wano Arc when he was Soba Mask. Both are super powered augmented heroes who escaped from an evil organization. And their strongest move is their kick

I would say Kamen Rider is better than power ranger due to the variety and story being often way more mature and detailed
for normal Kamen Rider season the darkest one in recent time is most likely Gaim, the fruit samurai which is kind of funny until you notice the director is a well known dark fantasy writer in Japan
there are also some specific adult only rider season like black sun and Amazon but i do not really recommend those for new fan
my first one was OOO's and then it was down to every year watch what they launch i had to wactch the 2023 raider still

Super Sentai being where Power Rangers gets its suit footage, megazords and some plot points from.If you do a reaction, you'll have a lot of "Oh shit, I know those guys!" because yes, they're the same teams but the originals lol
I can tell because I only watch that one Super Sentai episode with all of the power rangers in one episode it was like one piece but for pirates that’s what I was getting at. For sure I will react to Super Sentai ops.
My recommendations for someone who is new to Kamen Rider are Kamen Rider W (Double), OOO, and Fourze. These 3 have pretty good stories and because they are from 2009 to 2011, they don't look old at all, and the suits look very good. Then you got a lot of options, maybe you wanna watch some early 2000 Kamen Rider like Kuuga, Ryuki, Faiz,... these shows have a more serious tone to it and more drama, they feel very mature ( I'm not gonna lie, some of them don't even feel like for kids ).
I'm already watching Kamen Rider W on my own time It's pretty good so far and your right it has a lot more of drama towards it. I heard OOO and Fourze are really good. I really want to watch the old ones for Kamen Rider for 2000s they seem to be really good for classics. Kamen Rider doesn't even feel like a kids show to me it has a lot of serious tone to it and it just feels like an dark anime vibe to it.
@@jayroro7053One thing I very like about Kamen Rider is that the story is usually a bit different for each season, for example without too much spoiler, Kamen Rider Ryuki is about a batte royale between 13 Kamen Riders, they fight each other and the last one standing get to make a wish; Kamen Rider OOO is about the main character team up with a monster to fight other monsters. That is just so cool to me
