I think there is a major difference between Jayden's and Caleb's coaching staff, Kliff gets a lot of hate because of how he starts seasons and ends seasons, but one thing is true, he has tons of experience with rookie dual threat QBs, as in integrating them into the NFL, keeping them healthy, and winning with them. I believe that was the #1 reason for Kliff coming to DC. A lot of it is raw talent, but if Caleb had Kliff designing plays, I think the bears O is leagues better than it is currently.
The beauty of beating the Bears - was glorious,,, maybe 34-15 would have been easier, but seeing them so gleeful thinking caleb was better than Jayden,, then royally have #29 screw it up, made it better... After 2 decades of Daniel Snyder,, this seems surreal
I love the HE HAD RECEIVERS IN COLLEGE SO THAT'S WHY excuse. The Bears pegged Daniels as another Justin Fields type. They wanted a pocket passer (never mind that they can’t maintain a pocket). He uses it legs a lot more than Mahomes does. I get your point that he is almost scrambling more often than actually running, but I still think he is closer to Lamar
Rebuilding the fanbase is essential to the success of the entire organization. This team missed an entire generation of new fans. Gatekeeping is juvenile and dumb.
Cus Caleb went to usc that’s really it Look at Daniels numbers in college and maturity No gm gonna pick Caleb over him The only thing Caleb has over Daniels is maybe durability
It's the Mahomes effect. Same reason Trey Lance and Richardson got picked. Instead of leaning towards who actually is ready to play fully, they went ceiling. Honestly think it's swung to far
If the Bears had hired Kingsbury instead of Waldron... Nobody would be asking this question at all. Kingsbury helped Kyler Murray look legit right away... He's doing the same for jD5. Shane Waldron is making Caleb look bad. It's that simple.
I disagree. What you’d get is more scrambles which isn’t necessarily a good thing but they wouldn’t be able to rush him like they rush Caleb because he can easily run for a first down. DLine MUST stay in their lanes. Also watch the tape Caleb has quick options all the time but ignores them trying to make the spectacular play
I think Williams was the #1 pick because he wore nail polish and the NFL thought they could use him as an example of how progressive their league is becoming. I have no idea who they're trying to appeal to, but they're going to end up alienating long time fans for an audience that only exists on spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and social media.
Nope, this is incorrect, sorry. They picked him because he had unreal tape and produced a hell of a lot in college. His style of play is like Kyler Murray & Pat Mahomes, which unsurprisingly the Bears wanted a piece of as well

We will never know, but I do get your point about the situation. Still, can't dent him for performing well. Also, it's not like Washington is a slam dunk of a landing spot when you consider the weapons at his disposal. His play is massively contributing to it being a good landing spot
@macalloway1 I hear you but your facts are severely flawed. I'll give you an example. CJ Stroud, 3yrs but hardly played at all until year 3. Reigning rookie of the year. Jalen Hurts 3, Tua Tagalovia 3, Sam Darnold only started 2 seasons, Patrick Majomes left as a junior after starting 2yrs. Josh Allen played 1 year Juco then one year D1 and was drafted. It's clear what you said sounds good but isn't reality. Reality is the opposite of what you said but since Kansas City sat Pat one year THAT MUST BE THE SECRET FORMULA!!!! @@Courtdog2k3 It depends on the system they run in college and the smarts of their coaches to adapt their system to the strong points of the QB and supporting cast. Too many football fans underestimate the importance of coaching. Daniels has had the benefit of good coaching.
Number five is a great player. We should have him a long time on this team on the command team. I’m glad he is on our team now he making the commanders team very very well just like the old times for the quarterback. We have a great quarterback, like the old times.
Bet you never thought this day would come! haha
HAIL!!!
I don't think Caleb Williams is bad. He is actually good. He will be the franchise QB for the Bears, but I don't think he is good as Jayden Daniels.
Caleb needs a restart. His coaching is bad. They need to work on his accuracy. That can derail a career. They haven’t coached a single bad habit out of him yet. He’s playing same as college but this is the NFL
JD5 is the most accurate passer I've seen in my 64 years of watching the NFL. The best since Dan Marino. Kid's got an arm.
Yeah and good, quick decision making. Efficiency is the key!
That's not just a bold, blanket statement or exaggeration, that might in fact be a statistical truth. He has literally thrown fewer interceptions in a 9 game stretch than any QB ever recorded.
As a Washington fan, I watched the last Chicago game. There's a lot of factors involved but Caleb still has a big upside. Give him time, he'll be excellent - despite his present struggles.
Can't argue with this. There is definitely so much potential with Caleb! Do you think Caleb will be better long-term? Or too early to say.
@@JustFootball - hard to say. Better coaches next year? Baker Mayfield situation where he finds a better place? Or maybe Dwayne Haskins pt. 2? Maybe Chicago wakes up and does a better job? There is that one play where he scrambled for 10 seconds while DJ Moore went to the bench and lay down! Yipe!
@@charmerci Yeah that was a rough look, I guess it will all come down to whether they maker the right HC and OC call when Eberflus goes. Ben Johnson would certainly help...
I'm a Bears fan who wanted to either keep Fields or draft Daniels. I didn't buy into the hype that the media was feeding everyone about Daniels around the draft. That's the hype that a majority of the Bears fans bought hook, line and sinker.
Now, Williams isn't a bad qb, he just needs more time to develop than Daniels. He'll be an excellent qb for the Bears, but I still believe Daniels is, and will continue to be, the better qb.
Agreed, also his scrambling is just such a unique, game-breaking skill. Something you just can't plan for!
Not me...keep fields draft down.
.shore up o line ...joe alt and/ or Zach Frazier and/or Jackson Powers Johnson
@@rodneyharvey8938field’s wasn’t the answer. They should’ve traded the pick and scouted all quarterbacks and made a decision. You can’t justify paying JF starting quarterback money this coming season.
I was also confused by the narratives that were being put out about Jayden before the draft. He was a highly advanced passer who was extremely accurate at all three levels of the field... but especially deep. Was able to read defenses, go through progressions, and call protections at the line. Great decision maker and absolutely elite intangibles... not to mention elite speed, athleticism, and rushing ability. To me he looked like the perfect quarterback prospect. As a commanders fan I was afraid that the Bears would take him. I don't know why they didn't do a full scouting on him.
@@cmyskinsfan the bears listened to the media hype and for that they all should lose their jobs 😂😂 no matter what you should always do your due diligence by scouting and working out all prospects so you can pick who you think fits your team. Even if Caleb was the most talented if it wasn’t by much then it should’ve still been on the table to trade the pick and still pick the quarterback that wasn’t far talent wise.
Louis Riddick and Merrill Hoge said that Jayden Daniels should go number one. Too much hype for Williams and they never studied the tape.
Williams had the most hype
Most hype, but maybe not the better QB overall!
@@JustFootballWhat do you define as better qb? Williams has traits that make him better and it’s hard to move away the generational QB label when Daniel’s didn’t have that

Yeah 100% the better coaching situ at the moment, so hopefully Caleb gets his next year and we can properly compare!
The beauty of beating the Bears - was glorious,,, maybe 34-15 would have been easier, but seeing them so gleeful thinking caleb was better than Jayden,, then royally have #29 screw it up, made it better... After 2 decades of Daniel Snyder,, this seems surreal
I bet, one of the most incredibly franchise turnarounds ever. Shows the value of ownership!
Good coaching is the key to success..
Bang on there
During the draft process I was hoping the bears took Caleb so we could get JD5.
I'm glad you got your way, and slightly jealous...
Ngl, as long as our offense stays at this level. Lattimore on the WR1s. They could take the KC Theifs.
Would love to see it!
Number five J.D. ❤ well go into the playoffs and the Super Bowl. I think he would do well in the Super Bowl.
What a mad season that would be! Big test this weekend though. Does he beat Pitt?
I love the HE HAD RECEIVERS IN COLLEGE SO THAT'S WHY excuse. OK, well now we're n the pros and Jayden joined a team lacking in most departments while Caleb is in a ready made situation with 3 quality WRs, a defense. So what's the excuse this time? Jayden is better, won the Hiesman, so he been better since then. And will continue to be better because we seen he tape. Caleb can develop and be very good or he could be... Dak Prescott 2.0 🤷🏾♂️
Yep, it's not his fault he had awesome offensive weapons, and he did a great job of maximizing them and getting them first round selections! Stud!
Well, yeah he joined a team that's been pretty bad but they do have Scary Terry. No, I'm not one of the people that made that argument and I'm not making it now, just standing up for my guy. Terry Mc has been a top 5 receiver in the league for years now.
@@wingracer1614 Yeah he is class for sure, but one guy is not often enough. Just look how much Dallas have struggled with only CeeDee. You can have one stud receiver and still be in a rough spot
what you're saying you'd think is right. And so everyone does it, and every coach got there by being good at one time or another. Chicago was coming off a year where they was getting better. Only thing missing was a QB. In Washington they got coaches that didn't do well after time. Most ppl was done on Cliff. Dallas fans say Dan was the reason they lost. The TRUTH is Jayden is special and the coaches are looking good BECAUSE OF HIM. Not the other way around. Dan is a great coach. Great for team moral. And combined with Jayden it's a great combo. Jayden would have a better record if he was drafted #1 with that same coaching staff and you all would be like LOOK HOW GOOD THE COACHING IS. That's the truth, not revel in my genius'ness
@@wingracer1614Terry is a glorified #2 receiver and everyone knows it. After week 2 the local sports radio debated this very topic and they named a dozen they felt was better. You gotta remember this team been trash so nobody thinks of trash as top 5 in the league. We winning now and Terry still only doing things a good #2 does. It's like you guys think a #2 is trash? There's plenty of hall of famers that were second options 🤷🏾♂️ if he's a top 5 receiver I dare up to put money on him getting 100yds or 8 catches in a game. Either one, draft kings, fan duel, they'll all gladly collect your money on a bet like that.
Figuring out if you have the right guy doesn't always mean rookie of the year awards, it's about how they fair over their career.
Correct, but it's always fun to enjoy and analyse the situation as it develops. And who doesn't love a bold prediction!
Williams was the consensus #1 QB in the Draft according to the experts. He was the most NFL ready, with the strongest arm & elite Football IQ according to many. Daniels was seen as more if a project & touted as too thin (175 lbs or so) to be durable at the next level... Williams should thrive next year with a new Head Coach & an improved Offensive Line!!
He should, but you have to feel that the draft community missed something with underappreciating the experience Daniels has had right? Like Purdy before him, the extra years of starting in college have helped him transition to the league better
@@JustFootball What they missed is his drive to be great and his dedication to using VR. He is doubling up on reps with his VR time. His knowledge of what the defense is trying to do and his ability to read the field have exponentially grown since he started using VR. The guy lives and breathes football.
The Bears pegged Daniels as another Justin Fields type. They wanted a pocket passer (never mind that they can’t maintain a pocket). Daniels played in the SEC while Williams played in a league that was falling apart. Like Fields, Daniels was reputed to not throw down the middle of the field. The Bears talked themselves out of JD because of profiling. As a lifelong Bears fan, I’ll say they do this kind of thing because they’re fools.
You think? You don't think they were just locked into Caleb, like most people were?
If he wasn’t with Washington during the Dan era . You can’t ride on our bandwagon now😂

This is absolutely true, hopefully Caleb isn't the next QB to be ruined
Giants fan, happy to see washington rising up in the world tbh. Hate for eagles and cowboys is different. That being said i will never forgive the giants for failing to lose two more games and miss out on jayden daniels. If we dont select cam ward or shadeur sanders im done with current front office. Do whatever it takes. (I know, we have it good compared to most technically)
This current washington team is a bit special. I think we all can’t help but like them
There is a rumor that a team offered 3 first rd picks to try and trade up to get Jayden . I wonder if that team was the Giants .

Caleb Williams had a terrible attitude. Look at him when things aren’t going their way. Daniels good, bad, or ugly he’s smiling.

I hate it here . Every team in the NFL was taking Caleb Williams #1. And we won’t know what QBs are good until halfway thru the sophomore season. Good point
JD wasn’t number 1 because hindsight is 2020 it’s easy to say he should have been the pick now but at the time Caleb looked like the better prospect and this is coming from a commanders fan
Yeah hindsight certainly is useful, but isn't it fair to say that we all missed something in the tape with Daniels. Not taking away from Williams but Daniels has taken to the NFL with so much ease
@@mickee06I disagree! Being an LSU fan and watching him first hand put that LSU team on his back in the SEC every week with the worst defense in the country we alll knew he was wayy better than Caleb! Caleb finished unranked and had some pretty bad games in a WEAK conference! Everyone gave him the first pick award based on what he did in 2022 while the heisman trophy winner JD looked like a created player rushing for 1000 yards and then throwing for 4000 yards 40 tds with only 4ints and he had 10 rushing td’s and did that in the SEC! He was also the most accurate deep ball thrower had the most accurate completion percentage and broke the college record for passer rating all while rushing for 1200 yards 😂 It was CLEAR as day that he was WAY better than Caleb but the world slept on him for whatever reason lol I guess bc Caleb went to a school in LA and painted his nails so he had the more star Hollywood appeal….. JD is basically Lamar Jackson who throws like Drew Brees but I’m assuming you didn’t watch as much of LSU football to know that…… highlights doesn’t do JD justice for what all he done at LSU……. Uh, The Bears picked Caleb. If they took Jayden Daniel’s, then he’d look like Caleb does right now. You have to credit Washington for their head coach and OC pairing to Jayden. They handled their QB correctly. Bears 🤦🏻♂️😂😂 They’re sticking to their strategy of new rookie qb, 2 different coaches in their first two years. It stupid, but they seem to really want to stick with that losing formula
Yes true, Caleb is unfortunately set to struggle for a bit longer until new coaching is brought in
He is not a lamar type qb,more mahomes like scrambling not running.
He uses it legs a lot more than Mahomes does. I get your point that he is almost scrambling more often than actually running, but I still think he is closer to Lamar

Washington have new and good ownership thats willing to spend the money to put in the right people unlike Bears too cheap to hire good people
Ownership matters! What a time for Washington fans going from Snyder to this!
Regret is hard but I'm sure they didn't think Jaydon would be out performing the league.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing!
He's good because he plays Madden on his VR set, 8hrs a day. 😁
It is a very cool setup, and one that we may see more of now that it's worked for him!
It's the Mahomes effect. Same reason Trey Lance and Richardson got picked. Instead of leaning towards who actually is ready to play fully, they went ceiling. Honestly think it's swung to far
Williams has that better than a lot of other players who are drafted based on ceiling
If the Bears had hired Kingsbury instead of Waldron... Nobody would be asking this question at all.
Kingsbury helped Kyler Murray look legit right away... He's doing the same for jD5.
Shane Waldron is making Caleb look bad. It's that simple.
You know who else did that... Brock Purdy... They don't know what they are looking for they are guessing
Experience certainly seems to matter!
Hail to the Redskins
Hail Victory!!!
Commanders are here to play!!
He has the better coaches!! Something Bears should have done! You out Jayden behind that bears o lines he not looking the same 😂
Haha I agree on the coaching, surely only a matter of time before Bears make changes...

I think the slobbing is appropriate. He has 12 points and 0 TDs through most of the game against the bears but after a Hail Mary he’s a MVP candidate
The owner made that decision. They don’t like black guys. The wanted least black, of all the black guys they could get, did Not improve the offensive line. The GM is a former offensive lineman. He is getting 💩 orders from up top. We didn’t need a QB. Now we have a “ generational” nail tech at QB. JD was unquestionably the best QB. He won an award for the best player in college at the position. They didn’t like how serious and strong minded Justin was… They wanted a guy that could do less and would be the scapegoat for the coach, that they also picked. Owners don’t know football. King Henry was available. Dallas didn’t want to pull the trigger, the owner is Sooo smart!🤥 The owners came up with the QB clock, because the best QBs are black now. So they are trying to devalue the position, the way they did running backs. Also dominated by black men. Isn’t it funny how MCCaffrey gets all the publicity, everyone loves Purdy, but MrJackson destroyed them both. They don’t like that 💩. Owners like to be represented by the coach and the QB. Teams like the Bears have 7 running backs and the least black of all the QBs. They want docile black guys. They don’t like black guys with braids in every sport. That’s why cap had an Afro. Flexing his blackness on the NFL. Reminding everyone about the racist owners that think they are running a plantation. They are trying to devalue every position dominated by black men. “ They don’t want to see you ball, they just want a draft pick”
