Good catch on the reversal speed feature. I just got mine and thought it was possibly defective. But now it makes sense to have a constant high torque/speed value in reverse for all torque settings. It's the fine details like that, which is what has set this electric screwdriver apart from so many others. This has been my go to for diagnosis use but never for larger fasteners or when I'm dealing with 25+ on a job, let the big tools do that with speed and ease. To clarify- you don't technically need to set the control to the lock setting to manually tighten. It's there more as a means to prevent accidental activation in your tool bag or pocket.
I think I would prefer the 8v gyro max with clutch I would have to look up spec comparison but for slightly larger I think it would be the better option in the same price range and with a clutch…
As a tech guy, smaller is better inside an amplifier or transmitter cabinet. This looks interesting except for the slightly weird controls. I use a gyro model now.
I have been looking for a compact screwdriver for driving actual screws occasionally, for my tool bag. I believe this is only 44 inch lbs, as stated by Dewalt. A similar Dewalt model also rated at 44 in-lbs tested with an in-lb meter to 21 in-lbs. This is on par with some others but better than most. I wish you would have run this till it shut off with a torque meter.
there is a MUCH better dewalt cordless screwdriver imho. it uses their 8v system and it uses a gyroscope for tighten/loosen. it makes this one look like a toy. Model is DCF682N1
@@tempro24 I actually have that one, I may return it, it has power, but is much bulkier, they are rated the same power wise. I am trying this one. I WANT to be small/LOOK like a toy, but have good power.
Lovely screwdriver and great video. Phillips are PH when you say P that's JIS , just FYI as people around YT seem to be confused about the.re being a difference.
Yup. I've owned a bunch of these and the Denali from Amazon is the best. The other one that I have, which is unique and helpful is the rotating head on the skill.
Очень неудачная компоновка. Неудобная кнопка включения, слишком близко расположена к рабочей части. 5:58 и 6:18 что это было? Её в руке провернуло? Значит держать и работать так совершенно неудобно. 👎🏻 плохой инструмент.
Gimmick!!, Yeah i'd rather have the MAC one. This one looks to be piss weak for a cordless screwdriver & the $90 price has just put me off it instantly. Not worth it & DeWalt living in a dream world trying to charge that for it. I'd rather get the Giro Screwdriver with it's twisty handle and more power if needed.
The MAC tools one had a REALLY hard time, and was like second to WORST, as far as torque to run Nylon lock nuts onto bolts. It was literally the MOST expensive, and was second to WORST.
Same. Used V1 since 2017. Helped me at war much, it's in my military EDC. I want more powerful in this size, or less size, and shorter version. (Damn, they use 18650 in it, and not much wider motor-reductor system - rest are space waste inside...)
It’s cool for sure, but a fixed battery in this day, is a hard pass. The much cheaper Ryobi FVD01K, while not a nice overall, for sure, at least has a replaceable battery.
I don't understand what people use these for. A couple of years ago, I bought the matabo 3.6 V. Screwdriver. I think in those 2 years, I've used the thing three times because it's so weak that it's practically worthless. I would much rather reach for my Milwaukee M12 drill or the M12 impact.

Still prefer the gyro controlled driver. Especially when it comes to bringing a screw in on something fragile like a switch plate.
I agree. The gyro is an amazing tool.
I think I would prefer the 8v gyro max with clutch I would have to look up spec comparison but for slightly larger I think it would be the better option in the same price range and with a clutch…
I would prefer this design but with a clutch. I don't like the gyro gimmick, sometimes it's annoying.
@tonyc7352 the gyro thing is unmatched. Super legit to me.
I like that it's small and USB rechargeable, yet my DCF680 has much more power and control
At $40 ok but $84 too expensive
Maybe for the average homeowner. But contractors will make that back in less than an hour.
I like this form factor alot! I wish the Ryobi USB lithium screwdriver was similar to this style.
As a tech guy, smaller is better inside an amplifier or transmitter cabinet. This looks interesting except for the slightly weird controls. I use a gyro model now.
Thanks!
I think they should have put on control in the middle such a big handle and you got to slide your hand all the way up
They should of just made it gyro control
What’s the size comparison to the 8v gyroscopic model ?
It kills me ryobi won't make something this compact with the usb line. Their screw gun is great but the handle is so big due to the swivel.
i use Skil screwdriver for 2 years and work perfect is the original screwdriver and have electric detector
Does the dial switch on the bottom control speed or torque? If torque… assume an electric cutoff instead of a clutch?
Prefer the gyro screwdriver they offer forward and reverse is a twist of the wrist!

@@renurenovationsllc7780 if it is anything like the MAC tools version, then it has less power than the 20 dollar amazon chinese one.
I have the Amazon one, it would not drive that screw into yellow pine like this Dewalt did
@@renurenovationsllc7780 id check out torquetestchannels review on cordless screwdrivers
Great review Thanks for sharing
Hopefully the Dewalt isn't sharing components with its MAC tools cousin. It fared poorly on Torque Test Channels testing.
i bet it is. the gyro one DeWalt made (DCF682N1) looks, feels, and performs like a profesional tool. i own one. the one in this vid looks like a toy.
@@tempro24 the dewalt has a totally differant switch mechanism, torque rating, Rpm, basically nothing is the same as far as specs go.
I have that Denali which i got for $15 each.. i bought 4 and tossed them around the house for easy access.. won’t be doing that at $90 each..
NICE TO HAVE IN THE JUNK DRAWER FOR THOSE JOBS AROUND the house
This has to be the laziest tool I have ever seen, this Dewalt praying on the guys that collect tools
Was it slipping at 5:40?
I have the Skil one that I like. If I need anymore Torque I pull out my M12 impact.
Does the skil have variable torque like this one does? If so let me know the model I'm looking for a variable torque alternative to my Ryobi.
@@NiSE_Rafter skil twist 2.0 . TTC has a video on it.
edit: TTC seemed to like the dremel version and dewalt for features.

Amazon Denali Electric Screwdriver (by Skil). With 33 bits and an adapter & case.
$30 in last December.
I purchased that one, nice size and usability, But lacks torque for installing bigger screws into even 1/2” OSB
Machine screws not screws into osb. Different tool. Amazon Denali on torque test channel proved to be the winner so far. Haven’t seen this one yet.
I tried things like metal roofing screws and drywall screws into OSB, with the Amazon/Denali driver, it would sometimes, but ran out of torque often.

Nothing beats their gyroscopic screwdriver. Too bad it got discontinued
Is this brand new?
Seems like it not sure tho
Yes, it is.
Is this new?
That handle it too fat.
ADD Much?
💥✅️ 12 bits + 1 bit holder + 1 tool = 14 pc.
uh...a few more than 12 bits, LOL...
The craftsman one in my opinion is better and it’s less. The whole way to operate this screwdriver is too much work
This is a downgrade from the 8v gyro screwdriver
Could've just used 2 buttons: 1 forward, 1 reverse
Why would you buy this? Looks like junk to me
