Awesome ! I have the Berkeley sound rehearsal. For those that don't know , ' Blue Suede Shoes ' on the Hendrix in the West album came from the afternoon rehearsal , but the bootleg version doesn't fade out at the end and Jimi plays around several times with the ending riff.
I've read most of the commercially available Hendrix biographies, but your channel ties all the events perfectly together like no other. Thank you for your work! As a lifetime Hendrix fan, this is one of my all-time favorite channels.
That was a fabulous episode! I remember watching "Jimi plays Berkeley" at a midnight showing in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1980. Watching him play Voodoo Chile slight return on the big screen was one of the most exhilarating experiences i've ever had. I can only imagine what it was like to actually be there.
Just thinking that pal ,isle of white his last gig hope belly clears it up of what Kris k Said ,the hostile crowd threw dog crap at Jimi ,carnt imagine that occurring.
Thank you. Love knowing The Dead opened for Jimi at that show. As well as those long setlists were incredible. Certainly alot better than the shorter shows. And with Billy Cox on bass there was such great chemistry between the 3 of them. And without a doubt those shows where they played two sets but to different crowds..the second one will always be the hotter show cause the band is so warmed up that even if it's an hour or longer set break they're gonna be on fire for the second set cause they're warmed up by then as well as full of adrenaline!!
Fantastic work mr bbw. Thank you for your honest, accurate work. After watching this i was able to find a video with about a 3rd of the Jimi plays berkley movie. I had the official movie way back when it came out on vhs ha ha, but its long gone now. Personally even though jimi obviously had his chops, like everything that came out in the latter days really wasn't that good, nor was it anything close to what Jimi was capable of if he had been left alone to manage his own career. No offense to anybody that thinks all his later work was great but for me after electric ladyland or even his first two albums he just got manipulated beyond him having the ability to create what might have been.
Cactus 🌵 was Detroits jimmy McCarty, a great blues rock guitarist in his own right , who was tight with hendrix I understand and he does a fantastic third stone bo diddly clapton Peter green ,medley. One of the very few hendrix grade guitarists left today doing it in real time baby.
The Berkeley shows were great, I have the video and 2 CDs, I wish they would re-do the film because it is very short and they must have the unreleased footage somewhere.

"The Cry of Love" was a posthumous LP. The title was taken from the name of this tour. Jimi wanted to call his forthcoming studio album "First Rays of the New Rising Sun" or, perhaps, "Strate Ahead".
This is the best Hendrix biography channel covering his professional career! Thank you for all your efforts!
Thanks!
Amazing to witness Jimi play like no one else, some lucky souls out there
Totally! Cheers
I can verify the picture on the right @ 5:53 was from Fort Worth May 9th, I took that picture. Thanks for using it!
Cheers my friend!

An especially good time for Jimi, Mitch and Billy. Indeed.

Cool!
@@BELLY_BUTTON_WINDOW Are you the narrator for every episode…?
@@harryzlotzlottos5715 No, I'm afraid we use an AI voice. Makes the job easier. Plus, I'm an Aussie. Cheers!

Did I miss the L.A. Forum report? I was at the Forum concert. April, 1970.

redding was playing bass with jimi in 1970??????
No, he was playing as a guest with Johnny Winter. Cheers!
Humiliating to be finding out now that Cry of Love was not a post humous album. I thought I was an informed fan. I'm kinda face-palming.
