Very nice work. The amount of time it takes to do the little things like cutting that "cover" piece is seriously underappreciated by people who have never fabricated before. Also brave on you for deciding to weld stainless to that cast manifold I hope it holds up, I was too scared to do that with my own turbo build. I did pick up a 400 degree temp crayon from my local weld shop and it gives me a lot more confidence when preheating cast parts!
Hey thanks man! Yea it does take a lot of time to fit pieces like that right. As far as the cast to stainless, as long as I don’t hear any pinging after it’s welded and cooling I know it will be fine.
A jeep XJ lower steering shaft would eliminate that rag joint and the plastic cover and give you a ton more room. Just an FYI for any future 79+ G bodies you may end up working on
Thanks! I guess people have made 2000 hp with these cast manifolds. So they had them and wanted to reuse them. And because of the power steering pump most aftermarket stuff would probably have to be modified as well.
Nice work..
Thanks Alex!

@@ArcMetalFab Very interesting. I'm definitely more inclined to give it a try after seeing how nicely that weld turned out!
I’ll be posting the passenger side header build next week Friday that one turned out 10x better in my opinion.
Pretty comfortable in front of the camera for just starting. Looking good dude, hope the madtown training school is treating you well. UA601 🤘
Hey thanks man! And things are great! Not sure who this is tho lol
@ArcMetalFab Jesse Hafert from Milwaukee, service guy. Last time I saw you was ITP 2023
@@jesseh5554 oh yea!! Yea it has been awhile. Hope things are well man. Thanks for following along!
Remove the hood. It make's life so much better working in the engine bay!

Good to know thanks!
Great job. I will be following along to see how it comes out. Where you welding in the oil return bung? Pan or timing cover?
@@nkcwilliams Thanks! This engine already has a Holley oil pan so there are already bungs cast into it.
Great work… why did they stay with the cast manifold instead of something after market?

I like that cut guide for the exhaust tube. Where did you get it? Can you provide a link? Thanks. Keep up the good work!
No problem. I posted the link in the video description!
