I lived in ABQ in early 1970's. Took flying lessons and worked at Sandia Aviation. Interesting landing in a Cessna 150 with a C5A coming in right behind me. Went to the University. Worked at Charlie's Back Door. Small town then. Loved it!
As a die hard fan of Breaking Bad - Better Call Saul, landing at this place with the BB theme being played on my earphones would be no less than a dream
Loved staying in Albuquerque for training back in the 1990's. But taking off was crazy. Right after we got off the ground it felt like we dropped 100 feet in 2 seconds. I thought it was the end.
Having lived in ABQ, flown in and out, and watched air traffic patterns from the Far NE Heights, it's not unusual to see an eastbound flight head all the way around for a landing from the East, and I've seen it many times. It's obviously due to wind conditions which can be considerable in New Mexico at any time of year. Otherwise, it's a beautiful, clear, straight shot in from the west onto that enormous Air Force runway. Due to it's altitude and arid climate, ABQ is where you are likely to experience the longest take-off roll ever before reaching V1 and rotate, perhaps other than Gallup, NM. It can stun a bit, make you wonder if all is well with the take-off, and cause wonder if you may be driving there! But, hence that very very long runway shared with Kirtland AFB.
We know the feeling about those long take-offs when flying east. We were on a flight heading east. We caught one of those newer Delta jets with new video screens that on take off began reading flight altitude. The incline on take off was extremely steep that I might as well to have called him rocket cowboy! I thought we were headed to the moon! But I knew it had something to do with going over the mountain range and WINDs!! Thanx to you for confirming about what I thought it was after all.....
Did you fly over Santa Fe, Baudaughers, Bernalillio, Los Lunas, Tramway, Menaul, Eubank and turn around at I 25/Rio Grande River for landing towards Belen/Los Lunas?
Is this the same airport where Skyler dropped off Walt so he could go and tell his mom he had cancer, but instead came back out and hopped in the RV to cook with Jesse??

It's still a small town. A slightly overgrown truck stop.

WHO WENT IN A AIRPLANE IN NEW MEXICO
Everyone that goes on a plane in new mexico of course
I did like 10 years ago and I love it
Don't see a lot of air traffic using that runway/heading. I believe that is 21 heading south/southwest.
Did you guys fly over Rte 66 down to Big I to Kirtland AFB and there
No
Nice ladning over BEelen> Soccoro over the Rio Grande
7:22 you can see an V-22 Osprey
Sand, sand, and more....sand. So much sand, you really wouldn't believe it.
Did you fly over Santa Fe, Baudaughers, Bernalillio, Los Lunas, Tramway, Menaul, Eubank and turn around at I 25/Rio Grande River for landing towards Belen/Los Lunas?
"We need to cook Jesse!"
Pilot, be careful, your wing is touching the clouds.
I think I spotted an RV with smoke coming out of it, wonder what that’s about
Twice landed and took off from this airport in Oct 2018.
Awesome! Where were you guys flying out of?
Probably Tucumcari or Gallup. Or Hobbs.
On an American Airlines McDonnell Douglas Super 80 most likely coming from DFW. Currently being retired.
wrong. this aircraft was one of delta's md-90s. atl-abq routing.
Am I the only one looking for the White's house?
It would be too small from this perspective to recognize, but you can see the car wash very briefly at 5:49 near the bottom of the frame.
I think the house is in 5:02
Air drop
Is this the same airport where Skyler dropped off Walt so he could go and tell his mom he had cancer, but instead came back out and hopped in the RV to cook with Jesse??
