Hey I'm from Nigeria, I initially wanted to study medicine but due to some issues I couldn't get in and opted to go for pharmacy instead. I've never commented on UA-cam before but I decide to do so for you. I think you're really inspiring and your videos are very informative We all deal with imposter syndrome at times but you must keep it under control. Don't ever feel like you're not worthy of your achievements because YOU ARE Keep your head high and keep working hard You'll be fine and I'll be praying for you Good luck
Thanyou for sharing your journey, I myself as trainee pharmacist, recently I made so many mistakes. I was literally having a imposter syndrome just now.. but then I saw your video. ☺️
This is so truthful and real! Thank you bringing light into your setbacks and honest confessions! There is nothing wrong living with your parents as you say. Time has no time limit! Plus you save a lot of money! Haha perks of having loving and generous parents! Question is: What did you do in pharmacy school or what made you standout as a candidate for your residency program? Are there things you did like join a club, work, workshop, attend Midyear, etc Would love to hear your feedback! :)
Aww, appreciate it! Thank you for the support ☺️ I was an intern at a local hospital during all of pharmacy school. For orgs, I was part of a fraternity to network with upperclassmen and alumni. I was heavily involved in 1-2 organizations in which one of them I became president during my P3 year! I definitely used my experiences to help make myself stand out. I also ranked APPE sites where I wanted to do residency in higher so that I could make a good impression during rotation and get a feel for the program earlier on!
@@SarahPharmD you're way too cool! Everything you say is what I dont have and coming to my P2 year I want to make a push. I am involved in clubs and volunteering. I am about to intern for CVS soon as well and began research. I hope I can avoid retail and get into something else! What school did you attend?
I’m 30 now and having thoughts of going to pharmacy school, but feel like I’m too old. I’d basically have to start over and would finish by 37. My degree is in mass communication
We have two exams, one is the National clinical pharmacy exam called NAPLEX. And depending on which state you live, you will have to take their specific pharmacy law exam. (The law exam will contain a mixture of law questions but also clinical questions as well)
Foreign graduates have to take and pass TOEFL and FPGEE (equivalence exam) after which they have to complete around 1500 to 1700 hours of internship in the state they wish to practice. After that you’re gonna have to pass NAPLEX, which is the license exam and MPJE (CPJE in California) which is the law exam. Some states like Texas and Tennessee allow you to take NAPLEX and MPJE before completing the internship hours.
What do you think about taking a year to work before applying for residency? I’ve made that decision so I could move back across the country and settle in post graduation, find a job and work a little so I can contribute financially for a wedding and what not, but I’m feeling anxious about how this will affect my chances of getting in and delaying my timeline once again
Aww thank you for watching and your support! 💕 I think it’s doable! One of my coresidents actually worked after graduation for several years as a retail pharmacist and then decided to apply for residency! Residency helped him get a job as an amcare pharmacist afterwards. As long as you’re driven/ motivated and can convey that, you should be good ☺️ you’ll be taking a drastic pay cut to do residency after working as a pharmacist though, but that will be definitely make you stand out because it shows you’re serious about it!
Hi I'm new. I don't know you well but I'm quite interested to know that What your undergrad degree was, i mean how to become a pharmacist!? Can you tell me the full process of your undergrad to this !?💗🫶🏻
My undergrad degree was biochemistry! Any science major should be fine to be honest, as long as you complete all the required pre-req courses for the PharmD program! :) during college, I got my pharmacy technician license and volunteered at two different pharmacies to gain experience and obtain letters of recommendation for pharmacy school. One was the hospital associated with my college and the other was a local long term care pharmacy nearby!
I love this so much!! I’m in pharmacy school right now and often think about how life will be like when I graduate. Hope you’re doing well!!
Awww Thank you for watching!! Wishing you the best of luck in pharmacy school 💕

Hello
Do you need to give any registration exam after your pharm D?
Yes after graduating with your pharmD, you have to pass a clinical board exam and a law exam. the pharmacy law exam is different for every state!
❤❤❤
