Alto 1s anyone? I had the good fortune to attend a choir camp where we Facetimed with Mr. Runestad himself during a rehearsal. It was such an experience! Thank you, Mr. Runestad! This is my favorite mixed piece in the TMEA repertoire this year.
I sang in a choir that did this quite often. Biggest problem I had was tearing up so much I could hardly sing, because it's so ridiculously beautiful. Real "sing at my funeral" stuff - thank you, Jake
The making of this auditorium is BEYOND amazing. How the heck did they get it to sound as though you were in a movie theatre and you reach out and touch each sound😭. Not only that, but this choir sounds BREATH TAKING. My dream is to become a choir director, and if I could somehow get my future students to sound even CLOSE to this, that'd be amazing.
Aaron Schmidlkofer I know this is really late but when I was a tenor last year at Wartburg Meistersinger honor choir this was the peak of the whole concert we had it was truly amazing
while composition has lost some of the technical flair from baroque and rennaisance times, these newer guys, whitacre, ramsey, gjeilo, runestad have revolutionalized the emoting aspect
Such an incredible piece of music! I sang this with the Berea College Concert Choir on an international tour to Spain in June 2014. We sang this in a couple different cathedrals during the tour and it’s one of the best memories I have.
I'm practicing this for district and hopefully I can make it to region!! (Bass 1)[aka baritone] Edit: I made it past District!!! Hopefully I can make Region! Wish me luck!
YO YO HOLD THE PHONE. I audition this piece for TMEA 2018-2019, (Made it to area :( ) And i decided to look back on this.... Wow this is literally more beautiful from the point where i was a freshman. Keep up the good and honest work Mr. Runestad. (P.S. Did the conductor of this choir slip in a low D2 for the bass 2s at the very end?)

This choir has a stunning blend. And what a beautiful text to compose around! Another win for Jake Runestad.
I was in the audience on Oct 18 and this piece was absolutely mesmerizing - made me lean forward in my seat and pay attention -

Another Runestad masterpiece and wonderful rendition by USingers! I could replay this again and again! Directing this piece is such a pleasure!

I attend UBC and I can say first hand that the acoustics in this performance centre are absolutely amazing!!
The tenors are beautiful here.
I'm truly jealous of the tenor(s) who can hit that high A at 2:14 in their chest voice.
I always hit As in my chest voice. Long live the tenors! :)
Aaron Schmidlkofer I know this is really late but when I was a tenor last year at Wartburg Meistersinger honor choir this was the peak of the whole concert we had it was truly amazing
