Treat her differently because she won 23 grand slams? You are ridiculous Rich
Rich you are so wrong.
Eisen: "I defend Serena Williams!" *goes on to explain why she deserved the loss point/game* "But i defend her!"
Your analogies contradict themselves fundamentally. Federer didn't continue to berate the judge after he said his piece, like Serena. McEnroe lost games bc he kept going at the judges
Now you are a tennis expert? Federer cursed the judge out so save it.
Terrance Hall yes but he didn’t take it that far, you can’t continue berating someone. Watch the Federer match, he said his piece and ended it
@@MashiroRedo she didn't berate him. She was understandably angry about his inconsistencies.
Terrance Hall did you do any research? He consistently makes those calls on men. Why would he change that just for this match? You need to understand the refereee standpoint. You are there to ref fairly and if you don’t you give someone else an unfair advantage
Was Roger Federer cursing out this umpire? If not, apples and oranges, Rich. Good for the umpire for standing up for decorum on the court.
Joe Della Selva Federer was an analogy... the comparison of a male tennis player cursing at an umpire and receiving a warning vs. a female player calling the umpire a thief... no profanity!!
The analogy is clear and easy to understand.
Rich how can you defend her
Just because she’s won so many times she should have been given a pass
Yes. That’s the perk of being the greatest ever.
We are not all the same. There’s only one Serena. She’s been in this game for so long, if she thinks something is unfair, then it probably is.
So many things about this speech are false I don't even know where to begin
except, Serena wasn't punished with a loss of point for coaching - she was only warned. I don't think there is a double standard, I do think Serena knew what she was doing (she was trying to disturb Osaka) but the thing got out of her hand. And if anyone denigrated or spoiled Osaka's victory - it was Serena.
Your bias is clear. Serena wasn't trying to disrupt Osaka. You are full of it.
Serena was simply trying to keep the focus on her and not let someone else become the star of women’s tennis. Your bias is clear Terrance.
I have never seen Fed or Nadal spoke to the umpire in such a menacing way. She deserved every bit of the punishment. 23 slams and hence should be treated differently???? Gimme a break!!
In stead of giving six minutes of opinion why not show the her behavior?
If you question the integrity of a ref/ump, you have noone to blame but yourself.
And come on Rich. You should treat a 25x GrandSlam Champ different than a 0x Champ, but treat men and women the same?
That’s the kind of separation I’m fine with. Men & women should be equal. Tom Brady gets better treatment from refs than Geno Smith. Serena should get the benefit of the doubt. She’s the GOAT, if she thinks something’s unfair, it probably is.
Those outside of the top 50+ are not making nearly as much money as Serena and cannot afford to pay a world class coach. That is why it is a problem.
Terrance Hall you’re right. We should give her the best competitive advantage possible.
@@johnnyaguero3729 what a competitive advantage? You are so blind with hate that you aren't making a sense!
Terrance Hall blind with hate? 😂 Way to run to the typical response because I presented a legitimate reason why coaching is not allowed in professional tennis.
Lol I have no idea which direction Rich was going. He was all over the place. Make up your mind and stick with it. And Serena should not get preferential treatment because she’s been so successful in the sport. Actually it should be the opposite. If you’re so great, then you don’t need help.
OK, let's break this down. Coaching is a code violation, and her coach admitted signaling, so the warning by Ramos was justified. Breaking her racket is a code violation, so the point penalty by Ramos was justified. Calling the chair umpire a liar and a thief constitutes verbal abuse, so the penalty was justified. Carlos Ramos did his job by the book. For the USTA president and the WTA official to suggest that men were never penalized by Ramos is patently false and unconscionable. They should apologize for assaulting his integrity. If they think there's a double standard overall, then address that double standard in the proper manner, but THIS chair umpire did his job by the book. One possible consequence of all this: There's never been a tennis umpires' union before, but there may be one soon because the International Tennis Federation took its dear sweet time defending Ramos's actions.
If you get caught speeding by the police saying “ everyone speeds here” won’t wash with them.
Why would the coach risk doing this in the biggest game with the strictest umpire.
The stupid coach started all of this!
Anyone who doesn’t think there is a double standard...deaf dumb and blind!!
There is certainly a double standard for women sports!!
This is a fact!!
He is right.
No wonder the American defends there tenis player, enjoy your dislikes.
Yes. Serena was not out of line. That’s the perk of being the greatest ever.
We are not all the same. There’s only one Serena. She’s class personified. She’s been in this game for so long, if she thinks something is unfair, then it probably is. Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers get better treatment than Geno Smith and Trevor Sieman from refs. She deserved better.
The Serena haters in full effect in these comments!!
I agree with Eisen
Umpire wouldn't stand for it. So good for him!!! Serena was out of line.
