The five side drummers at the front seem underused to me. They are not playing during the musical pieces. Their drums are old fashioned rope tensioned with rosewood sticks, while the single side drummer has a modern drum and sticks. I wonder why this is. Very different to marching bands here in the UK.
Hi! Thats right, they are old fashioned ropedrums, unfortunately our sticks aren't rosewood tho... just ordinary Agners. We play only during the transitions between pieces so we don't cover up the band too much. Our drums need to be played quite strong, so the balance in the music would be off. That might be the reason why the "solo" drum is a bit on the modern side of drums. It can be played less and doesn't cover up the music. Both types are still from the same manufacturer. Also the band has time to switch notes for the following piece when we (6) play. 😁
It’s quite the same with every Finnish military band. Most of the time the drummers just walk with sticks in their right hands moving forwards / backwards. The time between every march is quite long if compared with the red ones in Britain, where they have only 4-5 steps to change the notes for the next march.
War kein deutsches MMK ( in diesen Fall steht das erste M generell für Militär, nicht Marine ) dabei das die Finnen die Abteilung des WBtl begleitet haben?
Excellent camera work and sound quality!
Sounds great, looks great! Love the beautiful white and blue ⛴️ (not the standard military music fare, huh?! 😄)
Thank you, I am glad you appreciate the quality! They were a great band to film
Thank you very much, I appreciate the feedback, I am glad you enjoyed the video!

The lone drummer is a percussionist from the concert band.

What is the name of the jazzy song at 1:36?
‘Blue Parade’. All music titles are given in the description with a timestamp and composer/arranger.
5:44 Someone drop his score
I see the non playing bassoonist is there just to fill out the ranks having no reed on his crook.
Good spot!! I hadn't noticed this. Quite possibly that is the case.
He has a plastic reed. Plays only while standing still.
Perhaps here was a mechanical problem with his bassoon.
