This song reminds me of a facade. The right-hand plays the pretty outside that’s shown to the world but the left-hand reveals the walls that keep you locked and trapped like walking inside prison gates and clanking the bars while you walk.
In the original song, the intro is played slower. I played the intro faster to create more contrast between the sections.

This is such a beautiful piece of music. I'm reminded of a game called Link's Awakening of the Legend of Zelda series, particularly the music that plays during the level called Face Shrine, where you just discovered the terrible truth of the island and you're conflicted inside, whether you want to complete your quest or not, whatever decision you make has severe consequences.

This was a truly beautiful piece and you played it marvelously as always, Katja. As you know, I still haven't played any games in the Gabriel Knight series, but I love the music I have heard from it. This song feels like the perfect choice for your own dark piano series, melancholic, reflective, and mysterious; just like you. The song is also haunting in a way with its repetition, like your heart beat as you walk through a cemetery on a cold winter's morning, flakes of snow swirling through the air, cascading into your hair and catching on your eyelashes as each breath creates a small puff of mist, feet crunching in the powder as you make your way. That's what I imagine anyway. I look forward with great anticipation to the other dark delights you have planned for this Autumnal season. Saattaa pimeys auttaa sinua loistamaan vielä enemmän, Katja.
Oh yes, that description is from my dreams: "cold winter's morning, flakes of snow swirling through the air, cascading into your hair and catching on your eyelashes as each breath creates a small puff of mist, feet crunching in the powder as you make your way." Those moments are the best and incredibly beautiful. The perfect scenario for this song. Thank you lovely!

Oh hello. It's good! Of course, it's really hard to add anything to this piece, but it fits your overall theme so well, I'm glad this cover is now a part of your library. I really enjoyed it. It's too bad Montreaux as a character goes rather unexplored on GK3. It's the one criticism I'd give GK3. Von Glower in GK2 was such an awesome bad guy, but Montreaux in GK3 was just kinda - there. It worked in the end, but still.
