Hey Joe- movie reviews for the win. By weird coincidence I listened to the ron and fez review of once... Total opposite take than these guys. They bring up many good points. Worth a listen.
I have some older friends 5-10 years younger than my parents. I'll show them or explain something i did and they shower me with compliments. I'll do the same to my parents and they barely say anything if anything at all. So relatable and I'm contemplating moving across the country knowing they'll never visit....
Hi Joe, Thanks for all the laughter! I wanted to comment on what you said about your dad taking you to the ball game and tie that into what you both said about feeling like a child again. The greatest thing about having kids is that they make you feel like a child again, way more than drugs. You get to experience the world as a child again when you are with them. Doing something as a dad with your child is the greatest. Its like time traveling.. Enjoy!!
Raanan, I just told Luis in his livestream to book you for skankfest because you’re hilarious. He didn’t say anything, but the effort is being put in to help lol
Joe, beyond excited for your journey into fatherhood. Reflection on your father's mindset when taking you to the game, it will come full circle when you do the same. 🤯
You guys make a great pod. Different dynamic to Tuesdays, but equally good. You have to do a J&RTM when the new Scorsese drops. I'm almost as pumped on you guys' thoughts as I am on the movie itself.
This was such a great episode. Joe, don't stop critiquing movies because you don't want to be a movie critic. There's been nights where I'll listen to a "Joe and ranaan talk movies" episode and then I'll watch the movie, and then it will be the most fun I've had all month. It's because I listen to 2 intelligent comedians talk about entertainment and film and appreciate and yes, critique it sometimes. Keep making the same content. I love it all.
@22 minutes. Joe, don't over complicate it. Like when I take my kids to Chuckie E. Cheese or go to see their school presentations, I dread it and think of it as a duty while I'm doing it, but, later, when reflecting on it, it's a memory I cherish and store because I got to see my kids truly happy with a supportive father. My dad rarely did those things for me. Heck, the one time he did, he showed up still buzzing to a UIL competition I had one early Saturday morning when I was still in elementary. A provincial boy that I was had no business being in advanced scholastic competition like that, but what a surprise it was for me, as I was already resigned and walking towards the exit, to hear my name being called in first place. I remember that day vividly over thirty years later. And I still give my father credit for being there, in all his senses or not. I really like the Philip Larkin poem--This be the Verse. Yes, it can be read as antinatalist, but I read it as one should have sympathy for people.
Do “Joe and Raanan Talk”! The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood part was gold. Watch the same movie once in a while and chat about it, chat about movies you haven’t seen in a while, chat about life. You don’t need to watch loads of movies each week and have a ton of structure.
Joe: your parents are emotionally damaged, it is normal to say at least 'good job'. Having said that, maybe it's time for you to seek your happiness some place different than the tumbleweeds territory. Love you both!
57:00 - If this were true, civilization would be based on sociopathic destruction rather than cooperation. Obviously sociopaths rise to the top but by and large, people work together. the majority of people are empathetic and don't crack each other's skulls for an advantage.
These two are the comedian’s comedian , not underrated, but under known. Also for some reason my this video inspired my dog to lick my hand a bunch, unclear why.
They should just do a podcast about movies they love because joe and ranaan each individually shit on movies I love every few episodes so a positive movie pod would actually be better
Bring back the movie podcast for the love of fuck Also, the last half about reflecting on life really spoke to me as a pretty depressed boy right now. Thanks fellas
Joe DeRosa was concerned w critiquing movies so he put his movie podcast behind a patreon pay wall. If List is so concerned, him and raanan should do the same thing. Best movie review podcast ever and it’s being discontinued because Joe feels weird critiquing people?? It doesn’t seem right. Also, Raanan is built like George Costanza but with the arms of Jean Claude Van Daam. DAMN!!
Because of Ari, I’m now realizing that literally no one ever says Tarantino’s first name right. It’s Quentin. Not Quintin. Ari pointed this out and now I can’t unhear it
Joe: I dont want to be a movie critic. I just can't be on here criticizing films, it's embarrassing. Red Letter Media: 2 or 4 White, Midwest, alcoholics criticizing movies. Your fans will watch whatever you put out, Joe 👍
I’ve always seen raanan and heard him brought up in other podcasts but never got the chance to listen to him, so I saw this video and thought I’d give him a chance. Is it just this episode or is he really that unlikable in every podcast he does?
It makes me borderline angry to hear how distant and dismissive Joe's parents are with him. But he's going to take that shit and use it for good to be the best dad ever to his boy. That kid is in for a great life, I have no doubt.
If you can’t maintain a relationship of any kind with someone without an iPhone then I have no interest in that person. Talk about being warped. It’s a cliched saying but the world has gone crazy.
@@Skedooosh you're asking why I don't like Raanan? I don't want to get too harsh. I was just trying to play off the inside joke Joe List had going at one point insinuating most of his fans disliked Raanan
More movie podcasts, please.
Hey Joe- movie reviews for the win.

Total opposite take than these guys. They bring up many good points. Worth a listen.
I could listen to these two talk about anything.
I understand Joe not wanting to be a film critic however he and Raanan have such great chemistry a pod "Joe and Raanan Talk" wld be dizope son

I moved across the country from my family a few years ago and it was one of the best and healthiest decisions I’ve ever made
We need more Raanan . Have him back again
I was just binge listening to Joe and Raanan Talk Movies, glad this ep dropped!
Same!
Love it when u guys are on a pod together!
I don't know why but Joe is way more comfortable and frank with Raanan than anyone I've seen on this podcast or other guest podcasts.
they live in same building and see each other quite regularly, they also did a movie critique pod weekly
Raanan is so nice! I accidently sent him $500 dollars once and he sent me back $2500!! 🙏

Best ep of MMJ yet. Raanan is a great guest. Introspective and funny. Both good listeners
Raanan, I just told Luis in his livestream to book you for skankfest because you’re hilarious. He didn’t say anything, but the effort is being put in to help lol
Watching this instead of working
Much love from Sweden
Hey me too 🎉
Please just do a regular podcast of you two. Preferably talking about movies but anything would be great.
The love for Once upon a time was really enjoyable. Thanks!

Lovely as always -- this pod means so much to me

Please please please bring back Raanan and Joe talk movies
Joey baby!!!! Happy sunrise from New Mexico!!!
My favorite podcast duo of all time, my fathers gay
Best intro in the business.
Great episode! That last bit about Once upon a time in Hollywood was so relatable.
Looking forward to Chris Walsh! Loved him in 4th of July.

Really loved that OUaTiH talk.
Raanan - I'm just a horrible, resentful, bitter person.
Joe - absolutely.
You guys should do a Talk Movies on Dazed and Confused and have Tarantino as guest. I'd bet you could get him.
I miss the popcorn bucket :(
Joe: your parents are emotionally damaged, it is normal to say at least 'good job'. Having said that, maybe it's time for you to seek your happiness some place different than the tumbleweeds territory.
Love you both!
Damn, y'all helped us get through the pandemic, looking back and thinking about it, very thankful for your pods!

Joe and Raman movie episode on Guy Richie movies and Trainspotting is my dying wish
For those who didn't know, two dudes who rule ^
Jason Isbell was very inspired by Randy Newman and mentioned the line is an homage in an interview
These two are the comedian’s comedian , not underrated, but under known. Also for some reason my this video inspired my dog to lick my hand a bunch, unclear why.
Was hoping this would turn into a talk on full metal jacket
Love you List.
Please more movie talk, I just binged all UA-cam and Patreon
They should just do a podcast about movies they love because joe and ranaan each individually shit on movies I love every few episodes so a positive movie pod would actually be better
Love this episode. Acceptance, babaaaay!
I love that Joe quoted p. 417
🎶Joe likes Sam Harris and Raanan is screwy. It’s Joe and Raanan talk trauma 🎶
Having Raanan in Mindful Metal Jacket is like having Gunnery Sergeant Hartman as your therapist.
The next time I see Joe doing stand up I’m gonna yell “go get em deathblow!”….ideally at a time that doesn’t ruin his set
I can imagine Raanan does eat too quickly. I'm with the mom on this one!
Joe list on Rick glass man?
Mindful metal straight jacket!
I'm proud of you Joe!
The other one too.
I love Ranaan
Raanans jacked
i hope they talk movies
"Tennis is my Dad's mistress. He doesn't cheat on my wife"
Paging Dr. Freud!
Great Pod Sires 🎉❤
Bring back the movie podcast for the love of fuck
Also, the last half about reflecting on life really spoke to me as a pretty depressed boy right now. Thanks fellas
Love Joe and the underground man:)
The movie talk is gold Jerry! Get back to that Joe you have a baby on the way. Mental health stuff is for wimps 😂

DAN SODER IS CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED
24:52 one of the best jokes ever!

the song Oliver's Army,

29:30 Freudian slip 😂
Good stuff!

Your fans will watch whatever you put out, Joe 👍

I think the medium intro is apt.

Straapan Hershberg

WHATS PEGGING?? 😂😂
Raanan and mental health ... is this about Field of Dreams?
Raanan is your George :)
Isbell the Goat!

Im one of those who is suicidal without the movie podcast . For the love of Pete get on it
Give me the J&R talk movies jingle or I send it back
Commenting for the algo. Sad to hear Joe say he may have to stop if numbers don’t increase
Rah ah ah ah you oughta know by now nan
stay out of gaza and 6th/7th street in Austin and you guys should be ok for the 2nd half.
Ra-a-a-a-na-a-a-n.
Hey, what gives, this isn't about the new Wes Anderson movie
Been listening since ep1 and always listen to the end. Parents resent their kids because you ended their youth.
Ramadan look like he would stab you in the back at the first chance he gets.
Get that Gay poster off the wall 😂😂😂
Raanan sounds a little like artie lange
'Raw Onion' is here? Who knew? Go figure. (My dad's gay).
I’ve always seen raanan and heard him brought up in other podcasts but never got the chance to listen to him, so I saw this video and thought I’d give him a chance.

Are you having a hard time getting guests, Joe?
why doesn't raanan do the film show himself?? joe is way too self-aware, listening to louis who thinks he's an artiste
Joe has dead legs
Bring back the movie pod. Instead of shitting on movies you can give constructive criticism.
If you can’t maintain a relationship of any kind with someone without an iPhone then I have no interest in that person. Talk about being warped. It’s a cliched saying but the world has gone crazy.
Not listening to this EP, i just came in to say how much raanan is disliked
Tell me you're a loser without telling me you're a loser 🤦🏻♂️
Why?
@@Skedooosh you're asking why I don't like Raanan? I don't want to get too harsh. I was just trying to play off the inside joke Joe List had going at one point insinuating most of his fans disliked Raanan
I'll get harsh, seeing and hearing him makes me understand Hitler better.
