- The following is my WWE Clash at the Castle 2022 review and results broadcast.
For the first time in more than 30 years, WWE will bring a stadium premium live event to the United Kingdom when Clash at the Castle arrives in Wales. It's a big show with major stakes and the continuation of big storylines. In the main event, Drew McIntyre will look to use something of home-court advantage to score the biggest win of his career when he takes on Roman Reigns for the undisputed WWE universal championship. The SmackDown Women's title and intercontinental championship will also both be on the line.

WWE Clash at the Castle 2022 Card Results:
Overall show grade: GREAT show! (B+) An overall fun, productive, and effective show. It may have one or two dips in matches or segments, but overall it did not harm the enjoyment. The majority of the matches were good, overall booking and storylines were kept fresh, and it did its job keeping the viewers excited for upcoming shows while creating interest to tune in next week.

I liked when the crowd started chanting "Walter" and Michael Cole acknowledged it saying "The WWE Universe remembering Gunther's past"
The ending was pretty sad, admittedly. I actually found myself pulling for Drew towards the end. However, I still maintain that having Roman retain was the right call. His reign is so massive at this point that it needs to be to the right guy when he loses. And I'm sorry to Drew, he's a good and reliable talent, but he's just not that guy. Cody Rhodes is the only guy on the roster who's been built with significant momentum to be the guy. Not to mention, I'm absolutely positive that was an agreement to convince him to come back to the company.
As I've said many times before, if The Rock isn't available for WrestleMania 39, then Cody has to dethrone Roman in the main event there. If The Rock is available, then if Cody can come back in time for Royal Rumble, have him win the title from Roman there and build him to a big title defense against someone (like Seth Rollins or Drew McIntyre, for example) and free Roman up to face The Rock in a non-title match. I don't care what anyone says; Roman v Rock sells itself as a personal story and doesn't need to be a title match when other people on the show can use that extra spotlight of having the title match.
As far as Drew is concerned, I don't think this is it for him. Granted, I agree; the singing thing was weird and stupid. However, there's an easy story to tell with him here. He was THAT close to winning it, and it makes him want it even more. If they ever do another UK show like this again, he can win it there and have that as his storyline that pushes him to work even harder. Anyhow, fun stream, Alyx. Catch you next time.
I got this weird idea, how about it's Roman vs Rock for Night 1 and Roman vs Cody for night two?
Reigns got three challengers, potentially four in the next 7 months. Kross, KO, AJ Styles. With those over with. He may move on to Sami Zayn in the mania season. Cody wins the Rumble. And The Rock challenges Roman. Triple H makes the announcement that both titles will be on the line at Mania, at consecutive nights.
Reigns vs The Rock - Universal Title . Reigns wins.
Cody vs Roman - WWE title, Cody wins.
Reigns gets to keep his Universal Title while Cody gets to win the WWE title.
Drew McIntyre losing reminds me so much of Kofi losing.

That ending was odd. Drew gets screwed in one of the biggest matches in his career in a place he calls home and what does he do after getting screwed out of winning the world title? He starts doing a duet sing along with an ex boxer.

I agree that ending ruined a great PPV to me. Drew should have won after all the effort they gave to make him feel like Championship material, then the Broken Dreams entrance, it was a no brainer, instead they fucked it up and make him look like a complete moron singing afterwards when he should have been fuming for being screwed off his big title win that was already stolen from him by the pandemic. Silly booking like this got me completely deflated, there is no recover from it, Drew is Done
The historic Reign of Roman Reigns is becoming as big as the Undertaker WrestleMania streak. Business is business. Romans title matches is starting become a huge attraction. Way to early to end the reign. More is money is to be made. More moments to achieve. More incredible matches. More suspense.

This proves that anyone will love wrestling this event was amazing. I hope AEW can eventually get to the UK to do a big event as well. And yes Gunther (WALTER) vs. Sheamus was easily the best match of the night.

The way wwe is setting this up it’s probably going to be cody but people are also saying the rock but I think a rock vs roman feud does not need the wwe championship and universal championships.
An amazing ppv. I mean amazing one of the best wwe shows in a decade. But yeah that ending hurt.

I've been saying this about Liv morgan!!! What is wrong with you people 🤣🤣🤣 she is mid! Now all of the sudden you podcasters want to admit it lol. I was rewatching becky vs liv at Day one, and Becky really held back to make sure liv shined in defeat. The match consisted of becky constantly having to get in position for live to execute her spotfest-based offense. I also know that triple H can't save this reign because he would have never had liv take the championship off of ronda. Liv is done when charlotte returns.
I get being disappointed Drew lost but wasn't it you that said you didn't buy Drew as the guy like 4 weeks ago? I don't get how Roman winning "hurt" the show but that's just me. Also have no issue with the sing a long but they should've done it off air. That's wwe's fault not drew

Ye I say it was a mistake not having Drew mcIntyre win, if Roman reigns is facing the rock at wrestlemania why keep it on Roman reigns, Drew mcIntyre should of won fuseds with karrion kross and go to wrestlemania to take on Cody Rhodes it would be a better story with them, just see Roman reigns hold the titles in segments and promo's till then.

WWE don’t really have anyone else worthy that can plus they have only really pushed one guy for the last decade at the expense of everyone else and that’s Roman.

What? Gunther defends the IC belt 2 times and you're saying he's one of the greatest IC Champs already lmao 🤣 the disrespect. Give him time he hasn't did anything outside or the ring that has made his reign memorable. Where's the legendary storylines he's been in to compare him with the Rock, Stone Cold, Mr. Perfect? Matches alone won't cut it.

The event ended when roman walked away,the sing along was meant as a bonus after event thing that at least i think they wanted to send people home happy...u should know this,aew does it in a separate footage,but they just did it here as wwe hasnt been there in a long time...come on,ur a wrestling vlogger and dont notice the nuances that happens...
I think the IC Title Match was arguably one of the best matches I've ever seen. I was hoping Sheamus would win but oh well. That main event though, I was rooting for Drew McIntyre all the way & to say that ending made me mad, that's putting it lightly. I had to go to cool off in my room immediately after Roman Reigns won. I love Triple H & he's doing a phenomenal job reshaping WWE. But I think he made a BIG mistake on having Roman retain. I previously said that it was a now or never moment & now I feel like Drew McIntyre's true crowning moment may never happen at ALL.

I don't think Drew is buried or done. The IWC said the same for Punk just last week, and for Dakota and Iyo too.
Drew withstood Roman and had him beat, if not for Solo Sikoa. The singing was weird, but for us at the stadium it was a moment, and Drew's speech made sense. He was heartbroken but vowed to keep fighting and one day win the titles. The song was more bitter-sweet than happy go-lucky. The vibe was heartbreak but also warmth and hope. For Drew, his 'road to redemption' continues I guess. Sad he didn't win though.
I think it could be the story heading into their next UK event that Drew finally gets the W (esp if its in Scotland).
