The Lumbini Garden was built by Koliya king Anjana, for his wife Rupadevi or Rummindei. It was pronounced Lumindei by the Magadh kings. After Mahamaya( daughter of the Koliyan king) got married to the Sakyan King Suddhodana, both clans started to jointly manage the Lumbini garden. The name Lumbini was perhaps given by the Magadh emperor, Ashoka the Great (according to some historians).Hope this was helpful .

Can I ask you if you maybe know? Was the park of Lumbini part of the kingdom of his mother or of the kingdom of his father ?
