All seem like studs that will make it on either our roster or some place. Hopefully they bring good compitition to the squad!!
The cool thing with the updrafted free agents is any position that you are thin in possibly can be filled with these signings.
My Guess, DT Randolph, DE/DT Kromah, CB Steward and LB Carl Jones pry the best shots to make roster. Should be Practice Squad shoe ins. OL Benedet pry practice squad. The rest imo are in competition for Practice Squad spots. Wheeler could force his way on the team with crazy returns in preseason.

Poles has hit on at least one UDFA in each of his first two years. I think Austin Reed will make the roster as QB3 but I don't know who else of this bunch will be good enough. I enjoy your opinions of who these young men are and what possibility they have of making the 53. It will be entertaining to see who does make it!

@Swifty these are all terrific stuff as if even 1 Undrafted FA makes the team, Poles and his scouts hit a home run. As they got them for LITERALLY nothing and will cost them pennies on the dollar for 3 to 4 years

Great stuff as always Swifty. The Bears are set for incremental success. My biggest concern is the win total. If Eberflus doesn’t deliver at least 9-10 wins he will be out. Frankly, he’s lucky to still have his job. If he’s out in ‘25 then we start over. Major set back (again) for Caleb. The Bears management has made horrible head coaching choices. The consent changes at HC have set the franchise back decades. I have growing faith in Poles. Eberflus, not so much. If Walton has a good season, he will likely be gone. Start all over. Not a good situation.
Why are you set on firing Flus if he doesn't get 9 wins? Based on what, his first two seasons? He case you didn't notice, the Bears defense he inherited in the last 2 1/2 seasons was absolutely pitiful. As was the offensive line. Last season, the Bears were just awful the first 4 games and went to Washington with the secondary and offensive line depleted. Despite that, the Bears rallied for a win which I give Eberflus much of the credit, the Bears do not get that win with a hapless coach, I believe his leadership was a big factor in that victory and a turning point for the franchise.
Flus has made mistakes as a first time head coach, such as hiring Luke Getsy. I think he has corrected most of his mistakes and the Bears are much better off with Flus going forward. There are not many championship teams that flip coaches every 2-3 years. In any case, the Bears should be highly competitive in the toughest NFC division and will probably win 10+ games this year.
Not disagreeing with you. Simply saying Eberflus has the worst first two season start of any Bears head coach. With all the positive changes that Poles have made, if he doesn’t get at least 9-10 wins he will be out. That’s all I’m saying. Look, ownership has gone the cheap with our head coaches. Have you not noticed the coaching merry-go- round since Lovey? It’s the Bears management that’s to blame.

Look at the terrible team that Flus had the last 2 years.
Total rebuild 22 + 23.
Terrible defense until the middle of 23.
Terrible Olines 22+ 23.
Only 1 good receiver and 1 good TE.
Went from 2- 8 start in 23 to
5- 3 with Sweat added and Flus taking over Defense.
Now to be honest with yah,
I'm not a huge Flus fan and he did blow at least 2 games which would have put us in the playoffs, but now he has no excuses and the the Oline is improved and we have 3 top weapons plus Kmet and
NO LUKE GETSY.
I think Poles and Eberflush are a package deal because of their friendship and like mindedness in football. I think they make decisions together as also Ian Cunningham does. These guys are all rookies and learning on the job. I suspect Caleb is unlikely to excell in the NFL. Higher authority wanted him. Justin was damaged in all categories and traded for a bag of peanuts. If I am correct then I am also correct that Chicago front office had to convince McCaskey to sign Tyson Bagent. I hope Caleb is starting until he gets clobbered allowing Tyson to learn and develop as Jordan Love was allowed. Tyson outfit Fields and can do the same to Caleb. His problem is identical to Peyton Manning trying to force high risk situations creating interceptions. Justin may have been too independent but he sure helped Moore and Kmet with their careers here. He has to go back to basics and construct some changes in his game. 🐻⬇️🧆🏝️

I think that Justin never had a chance, playing 3 season's with horrendously bad teams, and his record proves that, as he played the last 8 games at 5- 3 as the D was much better.
This year, CW is coming into a stacked team with better Oline play and 3 great receivers instead of 1 that was constantly double and triple teamed.
I think that CW is good enough with what we have know and beyond, to bring this team to a place we havnt seen for 35 yrs.
My only question is can Caleb stay healthy with his frame and willingness to run.
I am also very excited about Waldron taking over the offense.
He made Smith a 3850+ 2022 and
4000+ 2023, passing yds and yes the Hawks have great receivers, but the rest of the team was not that good. And Geno is no great QB either.
I believe in what your saying, but I also believe in a wide open offense and I think this may be the first one since the Sid Luckman Era when he won 4 championships in the 40s.

I get it. But this is a win now league. He’s yet another untried HC hire by the Bears. They hire HC’s on the cheap. That’s my point. So no matter how bad the team was he didn’t coach ‘em up. They failed. Getsy was his choice. He was a mess. They screwed Fields up. All I’m saying is he has this year to prove him self. If the Bears don’t win at least 9-10 games he will be gone. Then they start all over again. By the way Flus is a defensive guy. Sure they have Waldren, but guess what, if they have a better season than expected you can kiss Waldren goodbye. He’ll be looking for a head coaching job.
