Did not watch the full videos, but I am REALLY impressed. GREAT review - and really valuable. Like the other videos you have listed too! You got a new subscriber! 🙂
How do you keep that X3 m40i black in such a good paint shape after 10k miles? Please share your detailing process, because it still looks brand new, which is hard to do in soft black bmw paint.
Hi there. Well it's still a brand new car if you think about it. Usually first 2 years I would not do any detailing, just regular car wash. But after 2 years I would take it for detailing once a year in my local car wash place. They will use a clay bar and then polish it with wax. This is bare minimum that I do. I have VW CC which is 11 years old now. Maybe I will make a video on how this paint looks so far.
If you tested your X3 M with an X5 M (instead)… would your opinion change? I’m looking to buy one of these for driving in and out of Denver, Colorado where the twists and turns as well as road conditions are always a guessing game
Hi there. Mine is X3 M40i which is more comfy than X3M. X5 M on the orher hand is a completely different animal with a V8 engine and firmer setup. All I can say you should rent and try them out. X5 M will be a more comfy car I think
Thanks for the feedback. I am hoping to get X6 soon on the channel. I mean based on the style of these cars X3 compares to X5 and X4 compares to X6 but I know folks are generally curious about cross comparing them. So stay tuned.
I think the Base model X5 x40i should be compared to Base model X3 x30i. The X5 M60i is the next model up like the X3 M40i. I’ve driven them all and can say the M60i is an upgrade to the M40i, also a different car altogether, larger, more comfortable but even faster. Also more expensive….
Thanks for the feedback. So, yes the way you are describing is the right way to compare, however before making this video I was asked in some other videos how X3 M40i would compare to X5 40i because - both have same inline B58 engine, pricing of X5 is a just a bit higher than X3 M40i and also while X3 is smaller in size it still grew in size compare to the previous gen which puts it closer to X5. And this is where you will see comments on my channel and other forums X5 40i often compared to X3 M40i and it all depends on what you really want more: Sport or Comfort. X5 M60 is way out of reach in pricing and also with V8 it is not as fuel efficient as B58 i6.
Saw the driving hand position in the first 30s and immediately clicked off. If you want people to take you seriously like all the other reviewers on here, ESPECIALLY if you advertise reviewing cars on fun enthusiasts backroads like this you gotta at least pretend to drive like one. ALWAYS 9&3, it’s the first thing you learn in any performance driving course, even if you need to shuffle off center for decreasing radius turns, it’s the safest hand position and gives you proper control over the car.

Oh, thank you very much for all the kind words and subscribing.
This is such an interesting experiment!🙌
Thanks a lot for your feedback.

You needed to compare it with X6 which is said to be more drivers car/suv

which drives better in corner
For cornering X3 M40i is a clear winner. X5 is simply not designed for that. It is stable for it's size but it is not as agile.
European here, bmw is known for straight 6 engines, dont buy V8s. you have been warned
Thanks for sharing. Yep, I hear this from many reviewers. Most say stay with B58/S58 engines.
I guess if you just keep cars for a shorter period, during warranty, I hope it should be fine as I’m going to pick up a v8 soon.

It’s a car comparison video. NOT Driver’s Ed
