    Zane is becoming one of my favorite pro players. It's really nice when he breaks everything down in little details. Hope you can get him back and give some lessons about his crazy good top spin drives. Nice work!

    This really helped me a ton. I am transitioning from Tennis to Pickleball and have only been playing for about 7 months. I play tennis with both a two handed forehand and backhand because I have muscular dystrophy. Playing Pickleball has made it easier for me to hit one handers however I would prefer to hit a two handed backhand since I have a hard time gripping the paddle. This lesson gave me visual insight as to what I am doing wrong and how I need to hit more from low to high. Thank you to much for posting this.

    Glad to see you got some one on one time with a pro like Zane, he really hit the nail on the head with his concise instruction, that gives you some real concrete things to work on to improve immediately. Eddie is lucky to live near and work with top pros so I think this will really help even the odds of future Eddie Vs Webby matches. Plus Zane is just cool so im sure it was a blast.

    This was sooo informative. I already have had the push idea down, but the way he explained it in the forehead drive helped me already I woke up this morning after playing and it just was a whole new consistency

    Great stuff. On these dinks (tennis player), is it better to add a little under spin by getting under the ball a bit more? Thanks!

    Zane showed a lot of character by allowing himself to be filmed when he was hitting tennis groundstrokes. It was really bad, but he handled it very gracefully. He is now one of my favorite pro pickleball players.

    thinking of the 2 handed backhand, I wonder what Zane thinks of switching hands so there is no backhand. I'm a 2.5 player and when I had started playing I had an injured dominant shoulder so I learned to play with the other hand, ie left. When my shoulder got better, I just kept using both hands as I liked the extra court coverage and the ability to have a killer forehand from both sides. However I don't see the pro's play this way. What are the cons? hard when returning balls at the net? At what level do you see my type of play as being a severe liability? thx!

    Great video! I had the same problem with miss hitting the dinks on the throat of the paddle especially volley dinks For me, I think it comes from baseball where I was taught to bring the gloved hand to the ball in order to catch it So It was like I was trying to catch the ball with my paddle The problem is that the sweet spot of the paddle is far away from the hand I had to train myself to want to hit the ball away from my hand

    Zane - Is the two handed backhand more for power or control?

  • @redequal7457
    @redequal7457 2 роки тому

    Players watch paddle direction and speed of their opponents. I know I do. I can thus prepare for a return. I know likely where my opponents' shots are going to go. My point is that we should DISGUISE our shots... which includes trying to hide the direction of our paddles. You, Zane, are proposing we do the opposite, propose we direct our paddle as soon as possible in the direction we are going to hit our shot. I do not agree with this strategy. I earn points by misdirection and disguise, by throwing my opponents off my shot. Thank you for your videos. I do enjoy them. Oh, your using the paper on the paddle to prevent hitting on the throat of the paddle, which I often do, is a great idea that I will use.

    There is no reason for anyone grown who did not play tennis with two hands to use two hands. Except if dominant hand is injured...and on some body shot defense. Main issue in pickleball is reach and you are having much less if you are using two hands. I know some players are using two hands...Also there is more flexibility needed which is not there for the most people over 30...Two hands can be used as a coaching tool to develop better one handed technique, but that is extent of it. There is a reason table tennis players use one hand. Where I can argue that pickleball paddle and table tennis paddle are more similar then tennis racquet and pickleball paddle...also speed of the game is more similar...

      Durdica, I had just posted the below question before reading your comment which sort of touched on my question. Love your opinion on my question. thx. >> Thinking of the 2 handed backhand, I wonder what Zane thinks of switching hands so there is no backhand. @@kennethwong7243 it is very simple and you will find out very quickly by winning or loosing points. It can be annoying when you serve to someone's backhand and they smack back forehand...Now I am intrigued, I need to start playing forehands on the both sides....

    Watching Webby trying to hit the way he was being shown, he looks really awkward, the way I look after taking a golf lesson. Takes time to make these changes natural
