As soon as I got my Deus 1 I subscribed to this channel, I am still learning about the Deus I (bought it in 2014) and I have watched all Gary's videos, but I'm finding that I am slowly revisiting them because it is easy to become a little complacent with the programs, watching the videos again gives me a fresh look at the machine and I'm finding that my 'finds' have improved. Thanks Gary
I can't speak for the relic hunters out there but I can say that the deus 1 v.5.2 with the X35 coils are 'coin and jewelry' perfection! I have the 9, 11, and elliptical coil that covers all scenarios and ground conditions. I use 17, 25, and 31k with various versions of hot and 4 tone fast platforms that take me and my machine to a whole new level. So a big shout-out to Deus and Gary Blackwell for giving all of us techno-nerds and detectorist many years of quality enjoyment and higher detecting skills.
Thank you Gary, your programs are wonderful. I used the sonar program, I’ll try hot 2 tomorrow. Today I found several coins from 1815 and 1800 with a sonar program on very metal-contaminated soil. Deus 1 is a super device.
Awesome video as always Gary. Thanks for the settings mate, definitely going to give it a try, haven’t used my deus 1 for months, thanks Gary for sharing.
Had a go with the Hot 2 program and got a signal in very very hard ground , no signal with the normal hot program . Dug down about 150 mm and uncovered a brass buckle , also got a coin about 100 mm which was picked up by both hot programs . Looking forward going over old ground to see what might be deeper. Thanks again for the advice and Hot 2 program. @@The-skillschool
Nice one Gary, thanks for the video. On my quiet-ish fields I usually go with -4.5 on discrimination which knocks out most of the ground noise. Good to see all those Romans flying out of the ground! 👍🏻
Settings @ 9:00 ... Thanks a lot Gary! I'll be out with my old D1 pretty soon, (and that's my coil too!! 🤩) - I've tried 'Hot over Deep' before, but pretty sure you have some extra little nuances here, eg. the Fq. and Descr. - Anyways, can't wait to try this one mate, and thanks 🙏 as ever for the great videos!... Great video Gary. I love my Deus I. I have not been able to afford to upgrade to a Deus II yet. My question is I see that they have bone induction headphones for the Deus II, do they have plans of making them to fit the Deus I, and the Orx? I hunt in the mountains here a lot and we have a lot of rattlesnakes so I don't like to use headphones there, but the bone induction headphones seem like they may be perfect for those places. Also, my tinnitus is very extreme now and I think it is too much wearing the backphones? Thank you for your professional videos and advise.
Thanks for your question, I don't think they will for the D1 and ORX. Some years ago I tried some Bluetooth sports B/C headphones with a 3.5mm dongle and they worked well on the D1.
I love the deus 1, still learning and the finds just keep going up, still waiting for you Gary to decide which trowel you would like me to send you over

Short question... Can i Put the Sens to high to serch for hammered silver, Cut half and Cut quarters? In my mind i was thinking smaller coins Higher Sens... But when i saw an video about an other detektor my thaugts where changing... In this video(yes it was en air Test OK) the other detektor was Put to max Sens and a Cut half between two nails (Tip to the coin, heads away from it) and the detektor only was gettin between the nails as the User dropped the Sens in the upper 2/3 of the Sens. (My detektor deus1, 9 Inch x35 coil) i would do the Test on my own but i dont have an Cut half to Test it
Hey,Gary! I have watched your new video for d1 with hot program settings, what's the difference between this one and hot program with almost same settings? Which one is better?Cheers and greeting from Bulgaria!
Hi Gary, i noticed that you mentioned the ground there was troublesome, would ground balancing of helped in quieting the machine? I know a lot of times you use 88 for nonmineralized soil.I understand the logic in raising disc to 3 silencing small iron.Maybe you did GB the machine but didn't show it.Thanks for taking the time to make these videos and provide tech support to deus users.
Thanks for your thoughts, ground balancing on our damp soil makes the machine over sensitive. But I hear what you are saying, perhaps it's worth ground balancing and lowering the sensitivity.
Thanks for the feedback ,we have a place here in Culpepper Virginia where targets are deep and in mineralized soil.I may try your deep program variation with set g.b. or Goldfield mode which i like.A lot of users are using expensive pulse machines for this particular soil,i don't hunt there enough to purchase an expensive pulse machine.
Gary, It may just be me, but I still can’t match the depth of my xp Deus 1 with the 3.2 software in good ground. I attempted to film a deep civil war bullet trying to hold a phone in one hand then finish digging with the other. I see people digging holes at pinpointer depth saying how deep they are. I filmed a measured 16-17” deep bullet that was so deep, I thought it was a Belt buckle in a trench bottom. So far, I can’t get within 3-5 inches on my Deus 2 of my first Deus 1 and 3.2. I still have 2 of coils, need to find a cheap Deus one, set up 3.2 and try it again. The Deus one handled EMI Sooo much better as well. Thanks for all you do.
Thank you for your dedication to this great hobby and insights.. I have the original coil that came with deus 1 ...is it worth picking up any of the hf coils?
Hi Gary, Would you recommend these settings on the deus lite? and also are these settings ideal for ground that’s not producing much in way of targets.
@@The-skillschool my only issue is I’m not very familiar with the deus lite set up is there anyway you can do a video showing these settings on the ws4 headphones please Gary

The sensitivity does not relate to the coins.
It should be set as high as possible, what number depends on soil what the conditions will allow.
Hi Gary! Thanks for the informative videos! I have a 9" x35, in your experience, would it be wise to sell it and buy an hf?
No it's still a good coil.

Goldfield is a good choice
can you use this on the x35 coil if you can what frequency would you run gary
X35....no problem, I would run the maximum around 25Khz 👍

Not normally in the UK
Can your program be replicated on the deus lite Gary? Atb.
Yes you can use the same settings.
