Labor has generally done a good job but unfortunately it has stalled in many matters such as climate change, gambling reform, tax reform, environmental laws. There are so many things they could have done to help alleviate inflation. Rent caps, Airbnb reform, supermarket monopolies, corporate tax reform. But they choose not too. Inflation is not going to go down where people feel the change/relief as corporate greed is a major factor here but we allow them to regulate themselves, and then the regulatory authorities that do exist are all bought anyway. If only we taxed the fossil fuel industries properly we could be such a wealthy country and the government could put that money into services and provide help to the working class and poor.
My tax cut got eaten up enterily by a rent increase, straight to the landlord and probably on to the bank, with a little being skimmed by the rea. The only way to see any of that cash back is to have bank shares I suppose.
I was enjoying this until Amy started ranting about Israel…when times are tough economically, people start to care less about overseas wars, about making a moral stance, climate change, etc and focus on who will benefit their finances and tend to vote for change
The system that is dysfunctional enough to leave the working and middle class behind is the same system that allows genocide to happen. It’s entirely appropriate to discuss economic policy failures and foreign policy failures at the same time.
Excellent Amy Remeikis, she always explains the state of politics clearly and strategically.
Detective of Money Politics is following this very informative content cheers from VK3GFS and 73s from Frank from Melbourne Australia 😊
