    This is incredibly cool and interesting.
    Most of this is very clever phase modulation with pitch essentially only acting as frames per second right? An oscilloscope only draws the compression and rarefaction as fast as the frequency, which is pitch right? In order to get these advanced shapes you're having to modify waveforms in interesting ways. The resulting sound is quite stunning. You're onto something here.

      *****
      Some definitions for you :)
      *Clever:* _Skilled at doing or achieving something; talented; Quick to understand, learn, and devise or apply ideas; intelligent_
      The uploader/programmer is exceptionally *clever* for creating this.
      *Simple:* (in the context it was used): _Plain, basic, or uncomplicated in form, nature, or design; without much decoration or ornamentation;_ or in this instance, the modulated x/y (L/R Audio) is perfectly combined, resulting in a very 2 audio channels modulated into *one* (visual) signal that perfectly represents some quite complex computer generated vectors
      No need to feel butt-hurt, because I'm actually praising the uploader

    • @jerobeamfenderson1
      @jerobeamfenderson1  7 років тому +5

      These sounds are made with phase modulation (one signal determining the playback position of another signal). At 7:04 the carrier signal changes, but the modulation signal stays the same. This technique often results in a chaotic overtone spectrum that makes the sounds hard to distinguish, and rarely produces a clean image.
