David thank you for the complement on my video yesterday. Mr. Vizard you sir are an inspiration and I will continue to recommend your content on my channel. the first books my father had me read were, david vizard how to build horsepower vol1 and smokey yunick's power secrets so I have known of you for 25+ years.
When I saw him and Terry Walters build that 555 made for 87 octane, and 700+ HP, this 572 in the 800's is an easy step. This guy has this cam stuff figured out!
Sorry for you loss David. I know little about your daughter but I have read about her. Quite the Engine builder Just like her Father and a great driver too. Thanks for another great video. We all enjoy such knowledge from such an incredible master of his craft
Thanks! All of your videos are appreciated and thanks for letting us know about the St Jude donations. They are my favorite charity by far and I am honored to donate to them in your name.
Thanks for another great video, David. You’ve blessed me with abundant knowledge on how to make big HP! I’ve been reading your books since the 80s. God bless you
Thank you professor! I Rebuilt my first small block Chevy 350 in 1979 using your book that an old guy at the parts house tossed me and said before you turn a wrench READ THIS BOOK!
You better belive he has this cam stuff figured out, WE took one of JJ the Boss"s old 585 motors dynoed it. then had david spec a cam for it. we did nothing but change the camshaft. The horse power didnt gain much But we gained 99 foot pounds of torque. Pretty impressive id have to say.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge David. I have 6 of your books on the shelf. Your technical knowledge doesn't need fancy editing, theatrics or sound effects. I find those things distracting and a net negative and the same goes for the on-screen misspellings. I just want to see your production team rise to the same level as you have.
Thank you so much for your efforts over the years Mr. Vizard. I have gained so much engine building knowledge from your books and editorials. St.Judes is the best, happy to help.
Thank you again David for sharing your knowledge and my sincerest condolences about your daughter. I'm still saddened about her passing all these years later and still remember hearing the news through the grapevine. God bless.

Can you do a Holley carb video. Like what you look for in a carb for a street strip type setup and maybe how they compare to edelbrocks new 4150 style carb they came out with.
This might be a lil long winded as one is a question and the other is more of a point. I have purchased your book but have not had time to read it yet. I read somewhere else that the most you can get out of a stock block is 515 C.I.D. I was wondering if there's any truth to that? The second is more about their maybe other children involved which makes it even harder on the parents if they lose one. Thank you for sharing the information as you really don't have to. Last but not least Happy Father's day🤗.
@@marvingvx1 thank you kind sir but I'm still not a male😆. Well at least this time you didn't have any visible mishaps. I hope this means someone is keeping an eye on you🤗.
Good video. I only seem to have sound from the left side of my PC's sound system. It doesn't ruin the video by any means - but is it just my setup or is it that way for everybody ?
David, I am aware of several "St. Jude's" programs, all dealing with youth and youth problems. St. Jude's Hospitals are a sure fire topper on any list, but are you aware of the St. Jude's Home for Boys in Colorado? A late friend was co-ordinator there for many years- Father Herbert Ward, whom I met as 16 year old youngkin in New Orleans- a friend I wish had had a greater hand in me- not all the losses are to the young, some are losses for the young. Be well, be strong ! FR
I would like to hang around this guy for a while, I would be like a sponge and absorb as much as possible which I probably wouldn't be able to hold it all because my storage space is a lil smaller than his 😂🤣
How do you compare the profiler manifold to the new CID manifolds ? The CID is getting all the instagram/ youtube glory. I would like your professional opinion on their intake and heads.
With a shorter cam and greater cylinder filling on the bottom of the rev range resulting in more torque, how did you stay out of detonation below the torque peak?
How much horsepower is a ported Q-Jet capable of on a 421 SB CHEVY.? Using a 1979 800 cfm ported as per your book?I'm sure you won't get many other requests.
What was the vacuum number on your cam also how was the idle as im sure GM chose a cam that would work all around. how were you measuring knock being on 87 octane detonation is a big worry
My cam had less overlap than theirs and idled better and sounded like a real tough guy at WOT. We had a regular block sensor for knock but never saw any even with the timing 7 degrees too far advanced.
David, Can the scavenging force created by exhaust be so strong as to create bearing/oiling problems, if the vehicle cruises at 3800 rpm with 22 in manifold vacuum?
You are right about losing children but unfortunately in my case I've also lost my right leg and if you need proof, I would gladly show you that my leg is gone, ever since September of 2020 I've been an amputee. I still can't afford a prosthetic leg so I'm just stuck riding around in my wheelchair at the age of 43. I was a automotive technician prior to this horrible experience and only desire to be able to work again.

One statement, one question. GM chooses the cams for different reasons than you are, cost, availability, reliability, then power, probably in that order. Did you run a air flow meter to see how many CFM the motor was actually using? Or a vacuum gauge in the manifold to see if there was still vacuum at WOT? Great test, keep up the good work
800 hp on a n/a motor with small cubic inches ain't easy. 427 and 496 are small by today's standard. But 4.6 aftermarket blocks are costly. But easier to get 800 hp from. 4.6 bore 4.8 stroke will do it. Then turbo it for 1250 hp. Bloodviking
