- Installed Happybuy EVA Foam Faux Teak on the cockpit settees and inside. Moved and mounted the battery behind one of the settees in the galley.
Mounted the solar panel on the sliding hatch and installed a forward hatch.
I would reconsider the battery placement. The C-22 is such a light and tender boat that raising the battery and moving it off the centerline will have an effect on CG. A secure battery box under the step offers quick access and keeps the mass low and centered.
Valid point, however the battery is very light and it is maybe 2 inches higher where it was in the back.
@@svbabyadalynne I like that you brought it forward from the lazaret, and you're right, that's not much of a height increase. But did you consider under the step, below the keel winch? It still has the advantage of being close to the panel (assuming you kept the original location).
@@daveopincarne3718 under the step is an odd spot. It is a potential for water splashing in.
@@svbabyadalynne Dude, what kind of sailing are you doing that you've got that much water coming in the companionway? I get rainwater coming in that collects there, but never enough to flood a battery in a box.
@@daveopincarne3718 It's not about the kind of sailing...rain can get in, after swimming someone might step in the boat, spills, etc.

That forward hatch is a must have. Why would anybody remove that? Good call putting it back in.
Have no idea why it was glassed in...it made no sense at all.
@@svbabyadalynne I've got a '79 Catalina 22 and it doesn't have a forward hatch so perhaps not all of them do.
@@nathanharrower7822 maybe, but mine looked like from the inside that it had a hatch because I could see the shape of it...check out my older video when I purchased her...you can see it.
Thinking about adding the Faux Teak to the Cabin floor of my Catalina 25.

There are companies that custom cut with a pattern you provide them. The one I used is a cheap version.
I find your videos interesting. May I suggest investing in a better microphone? At times the audio quality leaves something to be desired.

What year/Hull Number did the Pop Top become standard on the Catalina 22?
Honestly I don’t know. She is a 1973.
