My dear young bro you were an up and coming good composer of our local songs. It's a pity you left us too soon. God bless you, RIEP, Aukaimo kaha raunani'o, haparua.
"Kekeni" originally written and composed in the days of ALBIROC since 1980's to 1990 by Edmund Sereva Raka Tahui Arua, Basil Greg all from Botai Clan Recorded in 1998 by Edmund and his new band Hiri Band Max Meauri Louie Warupi etc.. "Ororo Dorinai" wriiten in the 1940's after the war by Edmund's late Father, Mr Sereva Mou's vision of living on a hill with his beautiful wife Maryanne Natera Fabila.
Been a vivid follower since from outher NCD...wanted to learn motu thinking "yu save"..Edmund Sereva originally resided at Gerehu #5 in the late 90s and moved on. Lovely chap
Great job Elly Gorogo, this beautiful song (believed to have been composed by the singer's late dad Mr Mou of Hanuabada village), has never really had the exposure it deserves, quite apart from the limited airtime on the airwaves.Recorded some 20-odd years ago, the lyrics and the tune of this great Motuan ballad certainly strikes a chord in the heart of every Motuan or even non-Motuans whenever it hits the airwaves. Once again, thank you Elly for uploading this song.
If I had to pick the best Papua new guinea songs at the turn of the century, this song would be number1 with 2 more of Hirl band songs in the top ten. This is pure PNG talent. Unlike the crap they play nowadays. I'm also looking for kuadus songs.
Great Song. Well arranged, Played and nicely sung. This is one which will stand the test of time. Love this song. Kindly ask if someone can write the lyrics & email it to me. Forever Indebted. Paul - Jiwaka
