Listen, we hate Todd because he uses the move only because he has a bone lock in his arm, and when he uses the king's move, his bone lock saves him from being pinned. All you people defending him and saying it's his bicep locking, that's impossible. Sorry to tell you. He broke his arm multiple times, and it reformed into what it his now to keep him from bending it when it is compromised. What he does isn't fair and it's bullshit.
The King's Move By healthy People Agreed., However Credit is due to someone with a busted up ARM Adapting to How He can Still Keep Armwrestling. However What is Called; The King's Move Never Effected me. The Way I see-it is; If your going to Beat someone It Doesn't matter How They try to Cheat. Peace.
You sound like a crybaby. Todd uses a legal move that works for his particular anatomy. That's smart, not cheating. It's no different than Oleg using his massive forearm.
A simple solution wouldn't be to ban it, but to add that BOTH shoulders need to be completely above the table at all times. If you go below, you get a running foul, etc.
Yes legal move but MT doesn't exactly execute it properly. His elbow is no longer on the pad and its his tricep on the pad. Also coming off the pad they let him do it and they should call foul immediately. Make him work at either doing it properly and knowing he's not going to get away with sloppy arm wrestling or he should just retire!
Todd's "under the table" Kingsmove is very effective most of the time, but it never worked against Brzenk, John always managed to drive straight through it. lol
@French Frys well fucking said.....remove this "move"...and force a rematch with Todd ABOVE the table...he would lose in about 2 seconds or less to Devon..I also praise you for watching it all again and posting timestamps...it was cringe inducing to watch that cheater "win". To me if you use the "Kings move" your match is null and void and you are disqualified....rematch!!!!!!
Just seeing that last match at WAL 406 with Devon and Todd, have to agree with you that having a referee not calling for keeping the shoulder higher than the table and/or elbow on the mat is a real issue for this sport. Also, this is arm wrestling and not break the bone wrestling. If your arm is straight, you lose. If the sport keeps going in this direction, I’m afraid it will go back to a bar sport for another decade. What Todd was allowed to get away with at WAL 406 recently was a black eye to the sport and the WAL organization needs to make it right. A good example of how the kings move is more trouble than its worth. That said, also look at FIFA and the corruption of referees and how it has damaged the sport-I’d rather watch MLS. Who knows the ref could have been paid off at WAL 406 to fix match(s) and so we may have 2 significant problems with this sport and that isn’t good to get the sport off the ground in the U.S.
Almost no one will be able to pull off a kingsmove because most people never had enough trauma on their joints to the point their arms can't open properly. How many times has Todd torn his tendons/bicep and had it reattached? I don't even think he knows the exact number. Thanks why I think the move should be illegal. It's basically unfair use of a handicap. I think it's already an illegal move in Russia. Cyplenkov lost to Liliev that one time when Cyplenkov tried a kingsmove and the referee pushed his shoulder up.
The move is fine as long as their elbow stays on the pad. Michael Todd's elbow is clearly off the pad in some matches. The refs need to be more strict in their regulation.
Yes. Because I have a hard enough time convincing my mates that dropping your body a bit still counts as arm wrestling - let alone dropping your body weight under the table n going no wait- my elbow is still on the pad! It’s stupid. It’s arm wrestling. Not hang off the table until they get tired arm wrestling. If it’s a strength n technique sport - let it sit in that order
I agree with lots of the comments and some of the video. To the video, I agree that it should be allowed, but I disagree with the challenge of "If you think it's cheating and it's so easy, then you try it and see what happens." Presumably the idea here is that "trying it" could easily yield a loss to the objector and thus make him realize that the move isn't as easy to perform as it may appear. This is faulty logic. Just as using PEDs doesn't guarantee me victory in an MMA fight, or using a corked bat in the MLB won't guarantee me a home run every at bat doesn't mean those things shouldn't be outlawed. Plenty of things are still hard, even if you cheat. The merits should be on the legality of the move, not the guarantee of the outcome. To the comments, I agree that the move ought to be legal, but I also think Todd takes it to a different and gross level, and yes is bad for the sport. I think the move is ok as it stands and ought to be allowed, but, as someone said below, it should be far more and better regulated than it is, and certainly should've been in the match with Larratt. Todd's elbow at points was completely off the fucking pad! If your forearm or tiny sliver of the side of your elbow is all that's left on the pad, you get an elbow foul or lose. That was bullshit. His elbow was so far off the pad and his arm so far extended beyond the pin zone, it was nearly impossible for Devon to push any farther while keeping his OWN elbow legally on his OWN pad! The whole thing was a fucking disgrace and shouldn't have been allowed to happen that way. I think they should really take a look at this moving forward.
You didn’t really address one of the main arguments against the kings move: elbow too often comes off the pad. You’re only “arguments” for the kings move were (1) that it’s hard and most people that hate the move can’t do it. That is attacking the debater and not their argument. (2) Other people get away with “cheating” /breaking the rules so why can’t Todd bring his shoulder below the table. That is a horrible argument. When you use other people breaking rules to justify you breaking rules, you create larger issue of having a culture that accepts accepts cheating, which is bad for the sport.
Look at 98% of the comments here. These are the zealots of the sport and they hate this move. This is a spectator sport. The refs are not calling the shoulder below the pad. That's all that needs to be done. If the refs can't do that, it must be banned for the good of the sport.
I like your comment. Please read mine and tell me what you think. And your screenname...LOLOL...wouldn't Ellis Boyd Redding be a little less creepy? Elmo Blatch...LOLOL...cool.
Michael Todd has not mastered the move. He has mastered getting away with cheating during the kings move. Both shoulders often below the table, elbow constantly off the pad and tricep often resting on the pad. Nearly every match ive watched of Michael Todd he breaks the rules and the refs never call fouls on him. Thats my issue with it. Should be stricter rules that dont allow so much slack that guys like Todd use to their advantage. As you mentioned everyone gets away with something every now and then but I cant even watch Todd wrestle anymore because its such a joke.
Unfortunately this sport will never grow, no clear rules, debate on techniques, every comment section filled with comments that even if it isn't cheating it makes for an ugly match. Between Devon vs Chafee double kings move and how the last match between Todd and Jerry ended (strap broke but referee let the match go) i dont know how anyone takes north american armwrestling serious, its more like wwe.
It is not arm wrestling anymore...what a shame that someone like you who is in the sport does not see this... it is not that it's a cheap move... it's just not arm wrestling...The casual fans will stop watching with this kind of competition...what a joke! And can the referees be more shit and biased? I don't think so...
Yeah, I'm a recent fan, a definite casual. I think it's boring. It feels more like a staring contest than a consistant struggle of power and technique.
speedgoat 88 Most casual fans think that moving your body with your arm or sliding your elbow and putting your shoulder behind your arm is a cheat move, as well. The king's move does not bother me. I see it as a challenge i would overcome. I'd use it myself if it helped to keep me from getting pinned. Im trying to win, in a legal way. Thats smart, really.
What's funny is that Cyplenkov has a bone lock in both arms as well, cause of his condition. And he also uses it to his advantage. But He doesn't crawl under the table to do so.
Guy has a point, Kings Move should be legal. Also in Nascar and F1 racing the lead car shouldn't go fast, it should just drive really slowly in a way where nobody can pass them. See its all about being patient, and it takes a lot of skill for the lead car to go so slowly and still not let anyone pass.
Kings move is not a cheating move, but the only cheating move is how Michael exploits and uses the pad as his advantage. The amount of times he gets away with so many elbow fouls is crazy.
Watch this, ua-cam.com/video/Evch9JmgT_4/v-deo.html how Trubin kills the Kings move. Todd waits for the breather and then gets behind the opponents hand by moving the elbow superfast once. After that Trubin understood it and he won't allow Todd to get into a low angle shoulder lock (a la Larratt). Trubin also has his elbow close to the inner edge (look at his video with Brzenk), and at the "Go", slides it to the side to get a wide angle for a leveraged press. I don't think it is easy to press all of Todds weight, but Trubin does it, and forces Todd to "Get out from under the table, lest his elbow breaks", and Trubin has the strength to break the elbow on a kings move.
besides my little disagreement with this move I like your channel. you seem sincere about what you do and that's a good thing.. . Good luck getting to 10,000+ subs.
This sport with or without the kings move will never be as mainstream as fans would like it to be. There just isn't enough entertainment created in an arm wrestling match for mass appeal.
What im curious about with george and michael is are their elbows hinged in a way that does not allow their arms to bend? I remember seeing a video of michael todd saying that his move isnt a bone lock, if its not a bone lock what exactly is going on inside his arm? I have no problem with the move either btw i give just as much props no matter the style, that includes jerry cadoret. that huge norweigan strongman that i forget the name of, or anyone else with a unique style. If it fits in the rules its all good, some styles are just prettier than others.
Nah, that's just the opinion of this one . Kings move it's already in there . Yeah . But , there must be limitations , not throwing your whole body under the table with your extended arm pulling to the side and resting part of your forearm on the pad . That can become worse . Invitation to try kings move ... please no . That can lead into Todd's lazy azz pandas move .
I respect your opinion sir, but I don't like it, and disagree with you almost 100%. Please read what I am sharing and give my opinion the same respect as I have given yours. Thank you in advance. The King's Move might be in the rules, but the rules of armwrestling have taken a shit over the last several years. This move allows more elbow fouls than any other technique. And although refs allow some flexibility in the sport, it has gotten to a point where they won't call anything now. If an armwrestler is one-dimensional with a technique that causes more elbow fouls than can be counted, and ignored by the referees, then it needs to go. An armwrestler should be called for a match loss if he drops below a certain level. The King's Move is not "armwrestling"...it turns a match into "body wrestling". It's time to refine the rules regarding several obvious issues, including the King's Move. In closing, though, and as a former barroom arm twister, the King's Move must either be given a point as to where the wrestler cannot drop below a certain point(ie:armpit level with table), or it must be removed altogether.
I've always said there's a counter to every move and a counter to every counter. You have to keep trying until you find it. The same move doesn't work for everyone either.
Theres 3 reasons people hate on Todd about "his" version of the Kings move 1 his arm doesn't extend the same way due the arm break he had 2 his shoulder is under the table A LOT 3 his elbow is usually off the pad
3:20 no thanks I choose to armwrestle .You could say that aboot anything. Why would I want to go and try a loosing position. Its like saying swinging your body around doing pull ups is legit well go try it it harder than it seems, for out of shape people any kind of pull up is hard
as an interested but untalented observer, it seems like if an arm wrestler's arm is as straight as it will go (I've heard some arm wrestlers can't straighten their arms fully), shouldn't that mean they have lost?
Excellent points made here. I get frustrated seeing Todd when he is in the basement and his armpit is on the pad instead of his elbow. The King's Move is a very much legal but so is having your elbow on the pad.
Todd, I believe, relies on the king's move cuz his arm is messed up after having been fractured 70+ times. Check out his older matches, his match against Neil Pickup, I think, well demonstrates what he's capable of without the King's move but also the kind of shit he's been through that lead to his arm getting fractured 70 times and why the king's move is a safer way for him to pull today. His match against Dirk Schenker also shows what Todd's capable of
Kings move is totally fine if it's done within the rules. Not with shoulders under the table and the elbow next to the pad though. Then it's not so fine anymore...
There needs to be a more discernible method for judges to make sure that guys are not dropping too low below the table. But we have the same thing with elbow fouls, sometimes fouls are missed. It would be a bad thing to take away the creative aspect of the sport, but I have replayed matches were these really quick starting guys come off the pad and still get the win. I am all for explosive starts, but elbows got to stay on the pad.
keep the kings move but be very strict on enforcing rules when it's being used. Such as elbow on the bad, not the tricep. And make sure shoulders are not below your elbow. I mean just look at every comment section of any Michael Todd match. It's easy to know something must be done about the kings move.
Love the channel and respect your opinion but have to respectfully disagree with you on this one. The move is a “run and hide” move until your opponent gets tired. Then and only then does one emerge from under the table to pin their opponent who was hard at work while the one using the move was hiding. In my opinion it’s like an MMA fighter who refuses to engage because he is scared. It makes for a very boring match. If it’s not banned they should at least strictly enforce the rules. BTW, what is John Brzenk’s opinion on this?
anyone can't dp it. They do it because they cannot straighten their arm fully because of calcification in the elbow joint. Devon has this calcification to a lesser degree apparently but he doesn't use it to his advantage. I Think if you start using it the calcifiaction will get worse… With that said I Think it should be legal as long as their elbow dont lift off the pad which it does in most cases and they are given a pass because of their style...
I had to Google this move. Would have loved a picture being shown or a video. Some of us are just curious about the sport but have no idea of what your talking about.
Ryan who would win between Michael Todd and Crazy George in a match ? In which direction do you think that match would go ? They use that very similar technique I know Michael is a lot heavier but I have NEVER seen George's arm/hand pinned...I only saw Devon like kind of "paralleling" him... Travis Bagent, Mike Gould & many other much heavier superheavyweights failed against Crazy George...
I'd love to see it. Lol. It'd be a very very entertaining match. I think MT would eventually win with a press....MT probably has too much horsepower there. But if you took his press out of the game and just went with outside moves....my gosh it'd be entertaining
THANKS for your answer ! ➡I was thinking the exact same thing bro !! We all know that George can't toproll MT but neither can Michael toproll George. ➡Because if one of them tries to toproll the other one, he would lose his hand when hitting onto the other one's pronation & bone lock. SO the only way for Michael would be like u said to use his triceps press (dead wrist or hook press) but ALL guys I watched trying to defeat George with a press failed (including much heavier guys). But I guess Michael's press would be enough to "parallel" George.
Anthony Dall Antonia from Vancouver, Canada has beaten Crazy George's move. They is to be patient. For some reason everyone is in such a hurry to beat that move.
Yes you're right ! :) he beat him by catching his fingers and because of Anthony's crazy strong grip, George wasn't able to slip out. I saw another match between them where George got the slip, they went to straps and it was the same story once Anthony was in a strap with him... But I'm convinced that John Brzenk can pin George. I remember back in 2014 after his match against Mask, John went to practice against George and he was clearly making George's hand touch the pad. No one else in the world can do that to George (maybe Trubin & Gasparini now)
I never saw it till I started watching agin 20 years later. My biggest move was to hold bigger guys and just try and let them wear themselves out. Then id make my move. But like i said ive been out of it for 20+ years.
Dont ban the whole adjust the rules like there should always be an angle near 45 degrees for the arms plus shoulders should always be higher than the table and elbows should always be within the pads not around it.
I've always been very entertained watching Michael Todd!!!! The thing I've noticed is he's became either weaker with his side pressure and or the ability to take the hit from someone really strong without dropping straight into the king's move! If you watch his earlier past matches he didn't use to automatically dive straight into the king's move. He could in the past actually arm wrestler and use other moves but at least to me it seems like he's lost strength . Still love the guy he's a badass !! I do miss his shit talking and stuff that's another thing he's chilled out on , it's probably his age he's definitely looking older as well!
Dont ban the whole adjust the rules like there should always be an angle near 45 degrees for the arms plus shoulders should always be higher than the table and elbows should always be within the pads not around it. Ive noticed that also the referee in the recent fight of todd and larratt did not call todd for being so low and arms were stretched unlike his previous fight against i forgot the name but he lost and got injured.
I don't know of a single fan who appreciates it. On the contrary, it usually falls into the "I hate it, it has nothing to do with armwrestling" category. The hate's never going to stop, it will never be respected by the viewing public so the armwrestling gods can choose to continue with it and alienate the fans and ultimately the wrestlers who use it or make changes...that don't rely on refereeing.
the edblow locks on the side of the pad.. so the side of the pad is like a second hand helping the main arm..its like using 2 arms.. in bench press the benchers use the chest strap to help bench 400 pounds more for a world record 1,100.. same way to cheat to get a little extra leverage.. in armwrestling the elbow should be on top of the pad and not on the table off the pad and using the edge of the pad as leverage
Could someone snap his arm doing this? is that very likely? I've seen some serious pressur be put on it before.. it's like the opponent is after a pin by just snapping the arm if he has to. Todd's arm is far more suited for this, than the majority of the viewers..
It's not a cheat move, but people do cheat using it and the judges seem to be ignorant of the rules. Todds elbow is so often coming off the pad and he doesn't get fouled for it. His shoulder also drops below the table. A red dot should be placed on the elbow and there should be 2 elbow judges watching for that dot to lose contact with the mat. Disclaimer, I've never arm wrestled on a proper table and I've only been watching arm wrestling vids for 2 weeks. I'm a nube, but even I can see the rule breaks.
I would never disagree, but what Todd does is not the King's Move, it's the thirsty preacher boy.
6 років тому
The first matches seemed fine. Todd had a running foul in the last match, where he was using the elbow pad as support. His elbow was literally on the table, leaning against the pad. That is a very serious foul on its own, not even thinking about the other fouls he is in. Devon won that match, the referees failed.
Outlawing the kings move would ruin Michael's carrier forever.
He has an amazing career already?
Michael IS the King's Move, ending it would End him.
Humam Slayer good
LMAO no doubt!
@@ajkorras only amazing career he has is laying down. Hes the undertable
Todd gets away with a lot of elbow fouls, with the king's move.
So does Bagent without the kings move

All you people defending him and saying it's his bicep locking, that's impossible. Sorry to tell you.
He broke his arm multiple times, and it reformed into what it his now to keep him from bending it when it is compromised.
What he does isn't fair and it's bullshit.
Bottom line...his pronation still needs to be strong enough to stop people forcing him into a hook.

just Shane Michael is too powerful today, though.
This move is dirty, lame and terrible for the sport.

The irony of having the cheapest, lamest, stupidest move be called the King's move...
Did u forget that Michael can't straighten his arm. He sits on his bone lock untill you get tired
That shirt would be so good for a lawyer.
It should be outlawed 100%this isn't body wrestling he shouldn't be holding a hammer it's arm wrestling!!Damn queen's move!!
Once a competitor's arm is locked straight it should count as a pin.
Kings move = queens move
Nah, that's just the opinion of this one . Kings move it's already in there . Yeah . But , there must be limitations , not throwing your whole body under the table with your extended arm pulling to the side and resting part of your forearm on the pad . That can become worse . Invitation to try kings move ... please no . That can lead into Todd's lazy azz pandas move .
Move the elbow pad
In closing, though, and as a former barroom arm twister, the King's Move must either be given a point as to where the wrestler cannot drop below a certain point(ie:armpit level with table), or it must be removed altogether.
the Cheats move lol
I've always said there's a counter to every move and a counter to every counter. You have to keep trying until you find it. The same move doesn't work for everyone either.
Theres 3 reasons people hate on Todd about "his" version of the Kings move
1 his arm doesn't extend the same way due the arm break he had
2 his shoulder is under the table A LOT
3 his elbow is usually off the pad
3:20 no thanks I choose to armwrestle .You could say that aboot anything. Why would I want to go and try a loosing position. Its like saying swinging your body around doing pull ups is legit well go try it it harder than it seems, for out of shape people any kind of pull up is hard
as an interested but untalented observer, it seems like if an arm wrestler's arm is as straight as it will go (I've heard some arm wrestlers can't straighten their arms fully), shouldn't that mean they have lost?
It should not be outlawed, but definitely reformed in the rules, both shoulders should be above table at all times.
If the olecranon is clearly off the mat with space in between is this armwrestling anymore?
Todds elbow is not on the padd.. he gets away with elbow fouls cuz he is american
Excellent points made here. I get frustrated seeing Todd when he is in the basement and his armpit is on the pad instead of his elbow. The King's Move is a very much legal but so is having your elbow on the pad.
The move is for guy not strong enough!!! Todd can't go straight up with Devon
His match against Dirk Schenker also shows what Todd's capable of
Btw, Ryan, I just discovered your channel and it's great, very informative. Can you point me to other good armwrestling channels on youtube?
Armwrestling TV, NBK Media Productions, ToprollKing Production are a few of my favourites :)
Thanks for watching :)
once anyone wants to sit on the floor- they no longer want to engage in arm wrestling- they want to endure and basically wait out their competitors
The fact that the king's move is unbeatable should be the exact reason it's banned.
the kings move should only be legal as long as your chest is not under the table
What year did Todd start with the King's move??
keep the kings move but be very strict on enforcing rules when it's being used. Such as elbow on the bad, not the tricep. And make sure shoulders are not below your elbow. I mean just look at every comment section of any Michael Todd match. It's easy to know something must be done about the kings move.
I just watched John destroy Todd even with his Kings Move in UAL 8... "Where you goin buddy?1" LOL
I Think if you start using it the calcifiaction will get worse…
With that said I Think it should be legal as long as their elbow dont lift off the pad which it does in most cases and they are given a pass because of their style...
Most people hate it, so I say ban it or modify the rules for it. Any time a man's arm is fully extended to it's maximum that should be a pin.
I had to Google this move. Would have loved a picture being shown or a video. Some of us are just curious about the sport but have no idea of what your talking about.
The problem is when they are in the kings move and locking their elbow in the side of the pads.
did you see today's game todd's v devon.... this is stupid
Ryan who would win between Michael Todd and Crazy George in a match ?
In which direction do you think that match would go ?
They use that very similar technique
I know Michael is a lot heavier but I have NEVER seen George's arm/hand pinned...I only saw Devon like kind of "paralleling" him...
he beat him by catching his fingers and because of Anthony's crazy strong grip, George wasn't able to slip out.
YES IT SHOULD
I think you should be limited to a time frame in the king-move or a fowl. It can’t be a go to every match.
Just because the kings move is difficult to pull off doesn’t negate the fact that for most people it’s not relevant to the sport of Armwrestling.
It shouldn't be outlawed. But the referees must enforce the rules. Plus they should put a rule where the elbow must always on top of the pad
I think it's even more importanter to call out Todd for building a home under the table.
If you want to practice the kings move just break your arm multiple times and you will master it in no time.
There's only one way to stop a kings move
*BREAK THAT FRICKIN HAND* !
It has its place but it should have a clock placed on it like a shot clock in basketball. If you exceed it you get a foul.
It's the best way to combat someone a foot taller than you
The Legend John Brzenk dislikes the Kings move, that alone should tell every one everything they need to know
I don't know of a single fan who appreciates it.
I really hope this movement is banned.King Moves offends the sport of hand wrestling
If you wanna win against a kingsmove do a kingsmove.
I would never disagree, but what Todd does is not the King's Move, it's the thirsty preacher boy.
The first matches seemed fine. Todd had a running foul in the last match, where he was using the elbow pad as support. His elbow was literally on the table, leaning against the pad. That is a very serious foul on its own, not even thinking about the other fouls he is in. Devon won that match, the referees failed.
