This gig is one of the most underrated of all time, even some of the rehearsals are mind blowing.

Wow! I'm so glad this won the Patreon vote. I've heard the song before, but not this performance. Knowing this was a tribute to Freddie made it exceptional. Didn't know if I should cheer or cry...chose both. Like you said, Hap, he like Freddie, had the crowd involved. Loved your reaction ❤ as always. ✌️ ☮️ 🥷

As you've done "Knockin'..." you must do "Paradise City" from the same concert, too! :)

GNR is just one of the many artists who have gathered to pay respect, admiration and recognition to the life and contribution of one of the pillars of the music industry - Freddie Mercury. IMHO, the number of people who paid tribute to one of music's legends is unmatched. This is where the Mercury Phoenix Trust began. A charity organization that fights HIV/AIDS worldwide. It was Freddie Mercury who made many people aware that this kind of disease is serious and should not be taken lightly. Instead, let's all work together to eradicate this disease that kills so many.
It makes me cry to remember the day of Freddie's loss. But it is more even tearful to watched the people who came together to show their love, respect and admiration for him. Thank you Hap. #FREDDIE AND QUEEN FOREVER

Outstanding performance by Guns N' Roses thats for sure, and as far as I know "A Concert for Life: The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert" remains to this day the largest concert ever held for a dead musician.
It's just incredible what Queen was able to organize in honor of dear Freddie and for a good cause. They wanted to celebrate his life and not mourn his death🙏👑❤️.
Also a great reaction from you HAP, thank you 🙋🏻‍♀️

It is good to see you reacting to this Hap! It was such a great performance of this song. The crowd that turned out for Freddie was unreal, but not unexpected! Thanks for the reactions, as always.

The double neck guitar Slash used is similar to the one Jimmy Page used on Stairway to Heaven live. It consists of a 12 string guitar on Top with a 6 string guitar on bottom. A 12 string sounds more like an acoustic guitar because every 2 string are paired very closely together and tuned to the same note in different octaves causing sympathetic vibrations on each pair of strings. So, in a song where there are electric and acoustic parts a guitarist can use a double neck. Sometimes a double neck has a baritone 6-string and a regular 6-string, there are also double necks that have a 4-string bass and 6-string guitar.

"Knockin' on Heaven's Door" is an iconic song! I personally prefer Bob Dylan's original version because it is slow and it brings that inevitable acceptance of our mortality in a peaceful way. Guns & Roses' version is agressive, even angry (which is appropriate for this ocassion) but that is also another way of us humans facing the end of life. This performance was especially emotional in time the world had lost the one and only Freddie Mercury so the lyrics hit even deeper.
Axl was a huge fan of Freddie and his performance of "Bohemian Rhapsody" with Elton John from this tribute concert is also a must to see.

God I feel old, it was a magical day and I am glad I went, thank you Queen fan club for the tickets.
Surprised they turned up, and apparently they were high as kites as per usual.

The second half of the tribute is when Roger, Brian, and John came on stage and played. Axl sang, we will rock you, and Bohemian Rhapsody with Queen . Elton sang the majority of Bohemian. I personally would have liked to have heard Axl sing it more than Elton. Guitar player Slash played I believe, "Tie your mother down. " with Brian. And I agree, Hap, celebrate Freddie, have fun! Rock out ! I think Freddie enjoyed that more. 😊 Cheers on the fantastic reaction with such an amazing band ! Love this version

The songs were chosen carefully by the remaining members but the artists could also have an input on what they wanted to perform.- Thank you Hap.

Can't help you with double necked guitars. Always been curious myself and when I do see a guitarist play one it's always the same neck. Never see them switch over.
I get the "Heaven's door" for a tribute but still a bit of a strange song for GnR to sing at a Freddie tribute. Just my opinion. But as usual that era (and earlier) of Alex, his vocals are spot on.

Eine der besten Live Acts überhaupt. Sieh dir GNR Live Tokyo an. Ein absolutes Hammer Konzert, mit wundervollen grossartigen Background Sängerinnen.
Civil War live in Paris ebenfalls grossartig, GNR in dieser Zeit waren da absolut genial

Hi I have seen guns n' roses a few times now in Chicago at Wrigley Field going to their concerts I was below the stage and it is incredibly great wonderful I feel like I come back to life I am so happy and just excited every time I go and see them I'm hoping they're going to come around again and I'll be there but I just listen to a song called Paradise City welcome to the jungle patience the song you could be mine just so that you are aware of that song was requested by Arnold Schwarzenegger for Terminator 2 watch the whole entire video it is so cool the singer is Axl Rose the lead guitar his name is slash bass guitar is Duff McKagan rhythm guitar is gilby Clarke they have a girl playing the keyboards now I am in their age group Axel just turned 60 I think Slash 58 or 59 they absolutely take My breath away when I see them and every time I hear them I could have the worst day and they are my happy medicine I just absolutely love those men I would suggest read about how they got to where they are today especially axle about his life when he was growing up it was very very hardand for this man to accomplish what he has with what he has gone through he is surely an inspiration it was such a thrill watching your face when you were listening to this song thank you for playing it

Axl Rose is proof that if he can get through all of his trauma anyone can. I wasn’t even a fan and I couldn’t stand him back in the day. I saw them twice in 2017 to 2021. I drooled both times. Slash is still hotter than fish grease😂😂😂
