I have never been to a rugged coastline, but I feel like I have every time I watch you create one of your coastal masterpieces. Once again, a fantastic painting.
I really enjoy watching the stepping stones of your paintings. I must say I’ve learned heaps watching your processes and hearing your thoughts as you go. I don’t paint in your style but I am thankful for what you have taught me. I look forward to watching you again. Thank you.😎🇦🇺🦘
I've cooked my own stew after watching you cooking in the outback .Always enjoy your painting and these locations. Good stuff from your home studio too. From Bedford England 🇬🇧
Enjoyed this one the water rocks yummy sunny day. Your walls are filling up. Cant wait till the next time. It is winter here in Canada so the sunny sky and surf are very welcome this time of year.
Hi Richard, now your settled into your studio your starting to pump out some great material. Must be great working in the new environment. Well done and another brilliant painting. Regards, Bill
Richard I agree with all the comments regarding your work. In my opinion, no one uses the knife as well as you do. You inspire me with every painting you do. Thanks so much for sharing.
Top notch! What the samurai can do with the katana, you can do with the knife. The there are many artists out there. you are my favorite. I like your clear, authentic and pithy style. Just the right amount of detail without cramping and making the image look interesting. Your style of painting is brilliant, wonderful to look at and very inspiring at the same time.
It’s extraordinary how you put these paintings together! I haven’t looked to see but have you ever told the story of how you came to be such a talented artist? If you never have, I’m sure we would all be fascinated to hear 😊. All the best from the U.K. 💚🧡
What a magnificent seascape painting, once again. The wet rocks in which the sky is reflected, the touch of green in the water and the foam of the waves make the picture very luminous. And your sky is absolutely beautiful as always. Well done Richard.👏👏🙂
Gorgeous. This has got to be one of my favorites. The rocks are beautiful, especially in contrast with the surf. Beautiful painting! Thank you for sharing.
G'day Richard, it is definitely a "nice little piece". Who needs to go to the coast when you can sit back and enjoy this beautiful study. Love the feel of depth and those rocks are full of character. "The hard and soft" and the "lost and found" definitely in play here. Another great masterclass in how to not paint detail but allow the eye to interpret without prejudice. Geez mate, your coastal studies get better each time. Cheers, Rich
A perfect lesson , as always, thank you so , so much for sharing your talent with us. I am so far away but when i watch your videos is like i am in outside in your backyard.
Hi Richard, your walls look like they are filling up with your art quite nicely, at speed. Looking great from where i sit. I will come take a closer look next year. 👍♥️👍 I hope your studio is treating you well and giving you goosebumps still. This music is calming as well .. suits the video and terrific painting. 👍👍👍
Hi Richard! I so enjoy your seascapes and this one brightens up the very, very gray Stockholm vinter sky. I really admire how you did the rocks with the reflective light, so beautiful! Plenty of rocks as inspiration where I live but I struggle to paint them so this was a great tutorial and great camera work!
Hi Richard, nice one mate. I love how that shadow came out in the middle of the rocks in the water. made it really stand out. another great one mate. cheers Owen.
Great video as always! I have a practical question. Your first step when approaching a painting, as far as I can tell, is to lay down the "darkest darks" and then to proceed with lighter tones. My question now is: How do you manage to sometimes draw in the dark underlying color into the lighter tones being painted on top of them and sometimes you manage to not get the darker color into the lighter color being pulled over it? In the case of the painting in this video you mix the underlying dark colors with the sort of earthy colors of the shadowy parts of the rocks while pulling the lighter colors over the darker ones. This is (I guess) intentional because it creates texture and variety. However, in other paintings you somehow manage to pull really light colors over dark ones without them mixing in the process or the dark color "showing through". What is the trick here? I am really struggling with intentionally not mixing lights being pulled over darks. Is it pressure control on the knife? Thin layer of dark paint and thick layers of light paint on top of it? Wizardry? Cheers

👋Hello Richard, wow! This is absolutely magnificent! Wonderful areas of light and shadow in well-mixed beautiful colors that create shapes and forms almost by themselves. Have a great time painting.💖
Amazed at your art and equally amazed at how you stay so clean. I’d be covered in paint!

Your new studio is great! One comment though , you need to add some soft surfaces in your studio to absorb the echo in your audio.
Absolutely! Cheers :-)
ペインティングナイフの力強いタッチが堪らなく良い感じ🎉また磯のシャープさ荒々しさ

Richard, I apologize for being so trite, but "beautiful" is the only adjective I can think of now! From Tennessee, thank you!
My pleasure!
Why do you use Crimson and Magenta? Its rare to see these two together . Cheers🙂
Just like them! Cheers :-)
Are a lot of people coming into your new gallery?
Opening soon!
Richard - great job. What do you use for palette material - is that wood or something else?
Thanks! Marine plywood!
@@richardmusgrave-evans9886 Thanks!
