1:25 Fun fact, this birthday sign behind the animatronics is actually part of a helpful bit of environmental storytelling. Phone guy’s prerecorded messages are mentioned to take place during the summer (welcome to your new summer job) and the gameplay itself takes place in the fall (the paycheck at the end is dated for November). The last call mentions how the final event Freddy’s will be hosting is a birthday, before closing down. The decorations for that last day are still up throughout the entire the game, helping to further cement FNaF2 as taking place shortly after the closing. The birthday decor remains untouched, long after the party is over.
I wouldn’t be too sure about that. The first phone call is absolutely pre-recorded but the Night 6 phone call is most likely live as it wouldn’t make sense to pre-record a last minute message warning a particular person about a recent event. If I had to venture a guess, I’d say the happy birthday banner is up permanently as party rooms in a pizzeria are likely to see only children’s birthday parties.
@@darndavid7569 I don't think the night six call can be live, as that would create a timeline inconsistency. The night six call takes place just before the last day ('one more event scheduled for tomorrow'), and the ending newspaper establishes the location as having a total lifespan of 'only a few short weeks'. Therefore, the night six call can only have been recorded, at maximum, 'a few short weeks' after the night one call. The gameplay takes place at least a couple months after the opening, counting from an unconfirmed time in the summer to mid-autumn, which edges it out of that window of time. The calls must all be prerecorded for the dates to line up. EDIT: To address your concern of the call sounding too rushed and last-minute to be a recorded message, consider the previous night guard who phone guy was originally talking to, the guard for whom this was a 'summer job'. That last call probably was indeed made live about current events, but to that previous guard instead of the player. at the very beginning it was said it was the restaurant rebranded, though it makes sense for how phone guy was able to be alive, but it doesn't make sense with him explaining things like how there's "no longer doors" or how the restaurant was "given new life" maybe the narrative switched (like how in fnaf 1, they're just animatronics that want to follow orders and put a suit on what they believe is an exoskeleton, and then it was changed into "the animatronics are possessed by murdered children that want to kill you because you look like their murderer since you're his son" completely disregarding the fact the phone guy was attacked too and had a very reasonable explanation for why they would want to get you and other people working at night) the lore is very confusing and I kind of wish it kept on the track of the first game and dove further into why the animatronics were programmed that way instead of it turning into generic horror possession stuff
2:01 i don't know why, but Bonnie just standing there all alone on the end of the hall in that unsettling pose always gave me the chills, something very eerie and disturbing about that sets me off
I also find the image scary. The withereds are considered one of the most threatening animatronics in the game. This shot shows the terrifying concept of them starting to come.
It’s probably because of Bonnie’s broken face. It makes it look like that entire hole in his face is his mouth stretching that wide open. I hated that imagery.
I legitimately thought 1:29 was some sort of fake image slipped into the mix, like a creepypasta. It took me a bit to realize that it's the "abandoned animatronics" room - Definitely the creepiest vibe out of the bunch.
Absolutely facts. When I first saw this I was like, WOAH THATS WEIRD!!!! But then I saw it was the normal abandonded animatronics room with fog added to it. Still extremely creepy.
@@curlyheadrico9537 Honestly by the 3rd game, I lost most interest in the series by then, so I never really knew much about it. From what I do know, it does seem pretty scary but the whole atmosphere is completely different imo. Also I never got into the 4th game at all

If you want to see how large Withered Freddy is, in almost half of his images is him BENDING OVER SLIGHTLY. He's so tall he NEEDS TO BEND OVER just to fit.
FNAF VR really shows how tall the animantronics are. Just look at gameplay footage, and you’ll see how adults look like children compared to the animantronics.

We have to give a great credit to SC for rendering all these scenes individually and then slapping them together and ensuring the never conflict eachother. It's like so insane to me that he had the idea of taking renders and making them into a game just by using the still images and mind you the game was out in 2014.
I feel like he must’ve been frustrated with Mangle, making him an overlay, he is the most detailed character in FNaF behind his counterpart: Nightmare Mangle and Phantom Mangle
I think it because Bonnie's one is already quite annoying and long, adding Chica would've made it worse and could have caused Glitch if they came at the same time

idk if it's cause this is my favorite game in the franchise but fnaf 2 has a special atmosphere none of the other games were ever able to capture. its just so good.
Fnaf 2 did so much for the fnaf franchise as a game. It improved the quality of the first game with better visuals and new mechanics, but was sadly the last Office based game that took place IN a family diner making it special. The closest thing to fnaf 2 I would say was Sister location custom night but even saying that is a reach. If only Scott had stick to the original plot of the movie
I still remember that fateful day. It was on December of 2014. Me and my brothers were watching Guardians of the Galaxy. I went over to Cason and asked what he was playing on his phone. He said Five Nights at Freddy's. I wasn't aware that there was a first one. I watched as he was jumpscared by Toy Bonnie. It was slightly startling. It wasn't until he told me that his dead body was stuffed into an animatronic suit that really gave me the chills. My other brother, Rogan, overheard us talking about FNAF. He saw how scared I was. So he decided to pull a prank on me. He turned off all of the lights in the house while we were all in the game room. Then, he ran towards me at full speed in the darkness as if he were an animatronic jumpscaring me. He crashed into me so hard that he busted my lip. And that is how Five Nights at Freddy's traumatized me.
Another idea your brother could have done is turn the lights off and play Toreador March music box on his phone while holding the phones light onto his face so it looks like Freddy when he plays his music box
@@mrglitterbutter2020 it was kinda rushed but Scott had animating for some deaths but it was like around 50 gigs so he had to remove some animations and make it a small game so it was runnable
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how absolutely fucking terrifying the earlier games were? No futuristic silly games like security breach. Just a simple horror game where there are horrific killing machines stalking you whilst you are all alone in a dark, eerie pizza place.
Fnaf 2 ambience was just really good. Too bad you can't look at the cameras because of the constant onslaught and being forced to stay on the prize counter. People may love fnaf 2 but I think it needed far more time in the oven

Yeah, fnaf 3 did good by forcing you to search the cameras to find springtrap and lure him back, allowing you to see and appreciate the detail put there by scott

I honestly think Scott making the series less creepy and more cartoony and focusing more on the story is what drove it downhill. The realistic, creepy visuals and tension are what made the game so fun and mesmerizing.
It was not scott fault, It was steel wool fault since scott made all fnaf games until UCN, and all of them had this atmosphere, only fnaf 6 got a different atmosphere and got a simulator on it, and UCN is not meant to be scary, but to be hard and funny, but still good games
I feel like he actually made the series more and more darker and oppressive in atmosphere in my opinion, though I do think the story was good to end at sister location I think it's all best experienced just knowing the basic story of William afton and the murders that occurred and the motives of the animatronics, but coming to your own conclusions about everything else I think sister location has one of the coolest, creepiest, horrible and downright hellish locations in a horror game, it's a 80s nightmare robot factory made by a child murderer deep underground, and I think Scott helped make that happen Of course he does have problems and he isn't blameless for the series going downhill, I just think that he definitely made the series darker and never fully leaned into making it more family freindly

The lighting in the fnaf 2 cameras is so damn gorgeous. I especially like the withered animatronics like bonnie and freddy outside the parts and service, bonnie standing by the vent, and chica looking into the camera with her huge mouth.
The ambience of fnaf 2 is so good in my opinion, it sounds like its just the ventilation at the beginning but you can slowly hear the ghostly and cold feeling of the building.
In my opinion, Where Dreams Die is my favorite but this one is really nice. Gives that feeling of hopelessness, which feels fitting since that’s exactly how I feel on night 3 and above.
Game is one of the top in the past decade, NO games were doing this before Fnaf, The Lore of this game hella complicated yet so immersing, the visuals, the thought that every place, every animatronic has a whole meaning behind how they got there and there was actual thought put into this game, when it came out small youtubers would play it and blow up that shows you how goatted this game is, a community that showed out you got some actual dope Fan games and Fan art, to this day games like this are still being made, other good ones (Five Nights at Candy's, Treasure Island) game is top 10 If not top 3 in the past 10 years 💯
The Golden Freddy head in the halway always scared me Like imagine you're on the night guard shift, nothing is happening, it's eerily quiet, then you decide to light up the halway and you see a semi-noticable giant Golden Freddy head, and before your brain can decide if it's there or you're just going mad, it starts floating towards you, screaming

maybe the narrative switched (like how in fnaf 1, they're just animatronics that want to follow orders and put a suit on what they believe is an exoskeleton, and then it was changed into "the animatronics are possessed by murdered children that want to kill you because you look like their murderer since you're his son" completely disregarding the fact the phone guy was attacked too and had a very reasonable explanation for why they would want to get you and other people working at night)

@@Funnyvilligar102 well, the quality/graphics of fnaf 2 aren’t nearly as good as good looking as fnaf 1, but I agree

I feel like he actually made the series more and more darker and oppressive in atmosphere in my opinion, though I do think the story was good to end at sister location
I think it's all best experienced just knowing the basic story of William afton and the murders that occurred and the motives of the animatronics, but coming to your own conclusions about everything else
I think sister location has one of the coolest, creepiest, horrible and downright hellish locations in a horror game, it's a 80s nightmare robot factory made by a child murderer deep underground, and I think Scott helped make that happen
