A men's doubles specialist, he won numerous international titles between 1995 and 2005, most of them in partnership with Candra Wijaya. He was a member of Indonesia's world champion Thomas Cup (men's international) teams of 1998, 2000 and 2002.

Hastomo Arbi, Eddy Hartono, Haryanto Arbi were part of Indonesia national team who won Thomas cup, but they played different era with Rudy Hartono. Eddy Hartono paired with Gunawan won silver medal in Barcelona 1992 olympic game. Eddy Hartono/Gunawan was rival to korean Park Joo Bong/Kim Moon So and china Li Yong Bo/Tian Bing Yi.

At times he shows presence like hendra setiawan did. Trickiness and deceptions that kevin ss showed. Smash power like ahsan/ gideon has (even stronger?). Unorthodox defense like lee yong dae. A true complete package.

Kevin Sanjaya's coach back in Kevin's club days, and more importantly, he is Kevin's favorite all time player. Now we know how Kevin got his playstyle.
His defence is so good . His defence is his offensive weapon as his so quick to direct the shuttle almost anywhere he wanted to .
Loved the nickname, he is very amazing indeed. A bit sad that he's not as popular as other players, even though his skill is definitely first class

@oishi tralala sadly its true Sigit is not as popular as a shuttler like Rexy Maniaki in their era especially in my place even more ironic my mom although she is a badminton lover since Magnificent 7 era and Rudy / Liem rivality era, she doesn't know who Sigit is even with she know Kevin Sanjaya she still doesn't know him (Sigit) even though Sigit is the one who raise Kevin in the club
If you're a fanatical badminton lover then you Will absolutely know who Sigit is but if you're just a contemporer follower then you have a little chance to know him, you probably just know who is the winner of olympic or if the shuttler itself already has an public figure aura like Taufik or Susi Susanti, everyone knows Taufik but probably not everyone knows Sony Dwi Kuncoro, everyone knows Susi Susanti but probably not everyone knows Mia Audina

Those powerful backhand smash... I never knew there is someone else beside Taufik Hidayat could execute this technique beautifully
To be honest, sigit's backhand smash was more powerful than taufik. However, his wonderful pace was clearly visible when he played with Chandra Wijaya.
