It blows my mind how Damiano, in his 20s, writes such deep poetry.
As I understand “She lost the fruit of her womb” means that she lost her baby. So tragic.
In the last interview, he said that the song is based on a real story, but the name Coraline was chosen because of the sound and phonetics, and the story itself is written like a fairy tale ❤️

@@micheleferretto7079 i don’t think so. At the end of the song I think Damiano is suggesting again that she can grow up leaving her house, reaching a new place where she can forget, building around herself walls so powerful that nothing could hurt her anymore

@@antvilla72 in an interview they say there's no happy ending here. That castle is not what you think, can be a tomb or a mental asylum. I had to listen 5 times the song to fully understand the lyrics. Try that ;)

@Kitty Committee, i could be wrong but it could be about damiano’s girlfriend giorgia. it may be purely coincidental but she’s very outspoken about her past with sexual assault and about her mental health struggles. a lot of the lyrics in the song relate to her past and the stories she’s shared. but then again, a lot of people have gone through similar situations so damiano could’ve been talking about anyone…

its a real story... family abuses and sad ending... "the castle" is the cemetery... Damiano wrote the song in memory of her..

    • @MrBRIVIDO1982
      @MrBRIVIDO1982 3 роки тому

The song describes in a fairytale way the real story of a girl who is abused both psychologically and sexually by her father and who, in the ending, suggests that the girl dies ... the final text of the song, the part of the castle, is a very strong metaphor .... a castle with high walls represents a place of isolation or even a prison, a mental institution .... but the part of the walls is the one that reveals the ending ....
"Le han detto in città c’è un castello
      Con mura talmente potenti
Che se ci vai a vivere dentro
      Non potrà colpirti più niente
      Non potrà colpirti più niente"
"They told you there is a castle in the city
      With such powerful walls
That if you go to live inside
      Nothing can hit you anymore
      Nothing can hit you anymore"
In prison or in an institute there is no peace.
"the castle" where you can find peace, serenity, a place of rest, a place where there is no longer suffering or pain ...
think of the walls that delimit the cemeteries here in Italy, think of the peace and silence of those places .. the powerful walls where everyone finds peace

i don't know why all people reacting to Coraline chose this very bad translation. Coraline needs a good translation because words of song is so important to understand the true story and its meaning.
    Tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
    Coraline, Coraline

Coraline, as beautiful as the sun
A warrior with a zealous heart
    Hair like red roses
Those copper wires are precious, my love, take them to me
If you'll hear the bells singing
    You'll see Coraline weeping
She takes the sorrow of others
And she carries it inside of her

Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
    Coraline, Coraline

    But she knows the truth
Going on is not for everyone
With the heart split in two halves
    It's cold already
She's a child but she feels
Some kind of weight and sooner or later she'll break
People will say. "She is not worth anything"
She can't even go out of a simple door
But one day, one time, she will make it

And I told Coraline that she can grow up
To grab her stuff and then leave
But she feels a monster keeping her in a cage
    Covering her path of mines
And I told Coraline that she can grow up
To grab her stuff and then leave
But Coraline doesn't want to eat, no
Yes, Coraline would like to disappear

    And Coraline weeps
    Coraline is anxious
Coraline wants the sea but she is afraid of water
And perhaps the sea is inside of her
And each word is an axe
    A cut on her back
    Like a raft that sails
    In a swollen river
And perhaps the river is inside of her, of her

    I'll be fire and cold
    A shelter during winter
    I'll be what you breathe
I'll understand what's inside of you
And I'll be water to drink
    The meaning of good
    I'll also be a soldier
    Or light at night
And I ask nothing in return
    Just a smile
Each of your smallest tears is an ocean on my face
And I ask nothing in return
    Just some time
    I'll be a banner, a shield
Or your sword of silver and

    And Coraline weeps
    Coraline is anxious
    Coraline wants the sea
But she is afraid of water
And perhaps the sea is inside of her
And each word is an axe
    A cut on her back
    Like a raft that sails
    In a swollen river
And perhaps the river is inside of her, of her

    And tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
    Coraline, Coraline
Coraline, as beautiful as the sun
She lost the fruit of her womb
    She never knew love
But a father who is nothing like a father
They have told her that in the city there's a castle
    With walls so strong
That if you go and live in there
Nothing will be able to hit you
Nothing will be able to hit you

I found the explanation of the song BY DAMIANO in a comment on another video:
It’s our fairy tale, the story of a little girl who can’t find her place in the world because she’s too pure and fragile. It tells, through a sweet melody, a journey that gradually becomes more and more distressing, that seems hopeless. [...] “Coraline” needs a clarification: it’s not the story of the knight saving the damsel in distress. The story ends badly, there is no happily ever after. It’s something real, it’s the withering of this flower, of this girl, and the knight is helpless and powerless in the face of what is happening. As for the name Coraline, it’s not inspired by the cartoon, by the film. The choice of the name is purely musical, phonetic. The story is a real story, one I will not talk about right now, turned into a fairy tale, and everyone can interpret it as they wish.

I don't know if it's available on UA-cam but it is on Raiplay (I think it will be available for some time for everyone and then it will be geoblocked for anyone outside of Italy, they only turn off the geoblock for Sanremo) and probably somewhere else on the internet. they sing this song every time they perform... to honour her memory... an during this song Damiano no interacts with the public... he closes his eyes and doesn't look at the audience

All their Italian songs have very deep lyrics, some more than others but they are all deep, even Zitti E Buoni.
tell me your truths, Coraline, Coraline
tell me your truths, Coraline, Coraline
tell me your truths, Coraline, Coraline
tell me your truths, Coraline, Coraline
Coraline, beautiful as the sun, a warrior with a zealous heart
    hair like red roses,
precious like copper wire, bring them to me my love
If you hear the bells singing, you’ll see Coraline crying
who takes the pain of others and bears it inside her
    Coraline, Coraline
tell me your truths, Coraline, Coraline
tell me your truths, Coraline, Coraline
tell me your truths, Coraline, Coraline
    but she knows the truth
it’s not for everyone to carry on with a heart that’s split in two halves
    it's cold already
she’s a little girl but she feels a weight which sooner or later will break her
    and people will say
she’s worth nothing, she’s not even able to exit from a miserable door
but one day, someday she will
I told Coraline she can grow
    take her things and leave
but she feels a monster holding her in a cage that covers the road (path) with mines
I told Coraline she can grow, take her things and leave
but Coraline doesn't want to eat, no
    yes, Coraline would rather disappear
    so Coraline cries,
    Coraline is anxious,
Coraline wants the sea but is afraid of water
and maybe the sea is inside her (as in part of her)
and every word is an axe, a cut (wound) on the back
like a raft that sails in a raging river
and maybe the river is inside her (as in part of her)
I’ll be the fire and the cold, a shelter from winter
I’ll be what you breathe, I’ll understand what’s in your heart
and I'll be water to drink, the meaning of goodness
I’ll also be a soldier, or an evening light
and in return I ask for nothing, just a smile
every single tear of yours is an ocean on my face
and in return I ask for nothing, just a little time
I’ll be a flag, a shield or your silver sword
    so Coraline cries,
    Coraline is anxious,
Coraline wants the sea but is afraid of water
and maybe the sea is inside her (as in part of her)
and every word is an axe, a cut (wound) on the back
aike a raft that sails in a raging river
and maybe the river is inside her (as in part of her)
tell me your truths, Coraline, Coraline
tell me your truths, Coraline, Coraline
tell me your truths, Coraline, Coraline
tell me your truths, Coraline, Coraline
    Coraline, beautiful as the sun
she has lost the fruit of her womb
    she has not known love
has a father who is nothing like a father
they told her there’s a castle in the city
    with walls so strong
that if you go live there nothing will hurt you any more
nothing will hurt you any more

Thanks for this much more relevant translation. The wonder and genius of this piece is its ability to adapt to many situational interpretations through the metaphor of a fantasy story. Something that is very relatable to most of us who live this second renaissance of television and video "game-ography." Telling the protaganist's narrative of entrapment in emotion done through the use of the imagery of water. The ancient element that represents emotion, feelings and love. Simultaneously giving the narrator's motivation through his exasperation and frustration that he can't rescue his damsel in torment. It is two peoples' story; hers and his through his attempt to be the knight in shining armor that really loves her and help her escape that "cage" in which she resides. Its masterful storytelling at its best. Hopefully to be told and retold through the remnants of human history.

You NEED to do more taylor content and I'll try to find some fun videos. Btw you should search out Hiddleswift, it's literally one in a million pop culture moments. You're totally missing out on some of the best taylor stuff not involving music . I mean her personal life is a big part of her for a reason. Removing the judgment , her personal life has been weird, fascinating and fun to dissect. For few examples, she talked about being obsessed with Kennedys history for a solid half an year and then few months later starts dating the ONLY Kennedy that she could who was 18 years old (she was 22) and was in ACTUAL highschool. Oh and she BOUGHT a MANSION next to Kennedys in two weeks of dating him.
Now when she was Dating calvin Harris for a year and half , they were seen together only in matching outfits . Seriously from first paparazzi sighting to last , almost all matching outfits. She has literally changed her complete styling for every different relationship. That's why people ahave obsessed with her life for more than a decade.

Nonsense. It's a poem based on a true story. And none of them had to go through, to what happened to "Coraline". It's the worst story one could think of

It's not them, Coraline is based on an actual person, Marlena is when they talk about themselves! Don't confuse the two
