Good morning, Tara! Hope all is well with you. Yeah, the Darksaber coming back into Bo's possession was pretty much a foregone conclusion, and I kinda saw that method (many called it an excuse) as a way to get it back to her, without pitting the two main characters against one another. I will admit, I didn't see it coming in THIS episode when I first watched it. But also, I know what's coming, so in hindsight, it makes perfect sense.
The PA-announcer voice when Bo and Din were arriving on that planet and when they were in the "train" was the same voice actor for Padme in The Clone Wars. Little easter egg. I want to see more of Grogu. :( Also, I loved how we got to see the separatist battle droids again. Their voices are too funny. 😂😂 The irony of the droid bar was too funny. In ANH, C-3PO and R2 weren't welcome in the cantina because they were droids, but now in this, the humans weren't welcome. 😂😂 Ngl, I kind of wanted the battle droids to be reprogrammed to their original form. That would've been a great action scene. Also, when Hellgate said "was cut short in his prime by the Jedi-", he was definitely going to say Anakin Skywalker. He is the one who killed Dooku after all.
An uncommon theme discussed in the Star Wars franchise is society's over-reliance on droids. No-one seems to pay any attention to them, yet an R2 unit can patch into any civilian or military terminal without any issue. In a régime as obsessed with control and security as the Galactic Empire, for example, there seems to be no security measures or protocols to monitor un-sanctioned or unusual droid connections into the main computer's software. The very least They could have done was have counter-measures in consols installed to block any unauthorized connections. As well as keeping a good record of all imperial droids in a given base, ship, space station and any other imperial-controlled facility to minimize infiltration efforts by rebel droid operatives.
Thanks Tara! I hope I am not boring You with my long-winded comments regarding Star Wars lore. I have a couple of video suggestions should You decide to consider them: "How Powerfull were Imperial Moffs: Star Wars Lore" and "Sidious gets impeached: Star Wars Re-think", both by the channel "The Lore Guy". The first is a Canonical Lore video detailing a topic You were curious about in the Season One finale: the position of a Moff in the Galactic Empire's hirearchy. The second is a sort-of "What-If" scenario in the Star Wars universe.
Not sure if anyone has pointed out.....the automated voice speaking to them on their approach to the planet and in the "monorail" transport is the voice actress that played Padme' in the Clone Wars.
Comparing fictional characters arguing that a ally/friend should rule instead of themselves: - Din Djarin - gives an eloquent speech arguing why he is no longer worthy to wield the Darksaber and the Bo-Katan has earned that right to it and to rule the Mandalorians. Ace Woves annd his mercenaries admit he has a point and recommit to Bo. - HBO Jon Snow - Broods/looks miserable and every chance he gets he parrots the same set of catchphrases about “I dOn’T wAnT iT “ that frustrates everyone in universe and out. TBD how book Jon Snow will compare (final ASOIAF book’s publication is looking at a release date of 2100)
Hi Tara. That big battle droid were also seen in Attack of the Clones, earlier models killing Jedi in the arena. The most ‘disliked’ episode of the season. But I’m happy to see you had as much fun as I did. Bo and Din on a case through city streets, now that’s a series! 😊 It tackled a subject that was first seen on A New Hope, the prejudice and persecution of droids, explained later in the Prequels because of the Separatist droid army. Bo and Din’s relationship is wonderful to watch. Din follows Bo’s lead, but Bo treats Din as her equal. Bo is no longer that person brooding on the throne on the first episode. Being with Din and the Covert, she had regained the confidence to make the challenge. Even before Din’s speech regarding the Dark Sabre, he had witnessed Bo earning the right to wield it throughout this season. In the animated series after Bo took the Dark Sabre she raised it high when she ignited it. Now with humility and wisdom gained Bo ignites the Dark Sabre quietly, but the expression on her face…”Let’s GO!!!!” I love the look of ‘ex- stormtroopers’ colorfully garbed as Palace Guards.
The battle droids were indeed in "Star Wars: Rebels". You may recall an episode where Kanan, Ezra, and Rex squared off against a battalion of Separatist battle droids, before both joined forces against an incursion of Empire forces. It was referred to as the last battle of the Clone Wars.
Dangit, Katie as Bo-Katan standing in front of the Mandalorians holding the Darksaber just looks so damn RIGHT. Also, I think there was an interview a couple years ago with Katie where she said they actually explored some type of romance storyline between Bo and Din because of the obvious tension between them... But they couldn't figure out how it would work in a practical sense, as in... does Din keep his helmet on, do they keep the armor on, would their speech change when alone together? They (Katie, Dave, et al) just couldn't decide how that would work in the Mandalorian culture so they decided to avoid it altogether and forget the romance storyline haha.
This is a super under appreciated episode. Sad cause most hate is just because of lizzo. If she was a hot blonde white girl three toxic fanboys wouldn't have complained
This episode is under-appreciated, but the first time I saw it it was a little disconcerting. I was expecting some follow-up to Moff Gideon escaping and instead we got a screeching turn to CSI: A Galaxy Far Far Away with Jack Black and Lizzo. I like the way they created Star Wars versions of the standard police procedural tropes.
And you've now gotten to the most hated episode of this season. Just because of the leaders of this planet. But I personally love Christopher Lloyd's character. And the conclusion of the darksaber question was pitch perfect
@CaptainFettCosplay Agree to disagree. Personally with only 8 episodes I think they should have dropped the Droid mission and focused on the Mandelorian unification better with more character development.
@moabman6803 but did you pay attention? We got a payoff for the Ugnaught stuff in season 1, we learned how the Droid world works in more detail, learned more about the clone wars and after effects. More character development for Bo. Fleshed out the Mandos more. Showed the first steps to how making Mandalore a reestablished world will work.
@CaptainFettCosplay Yes I laid attention to those side things. While interesting I think their just wasn't enough time for all that. It's not the clone wars where you have 150 episodes. You have to trim the fat or it will weaken the show when you only have 8 episodes a season which I think it did. The retaking of mandalore was such a awesome plot, but they needed to focus on that a lot more.
@CaptainFettCosplay Here's how the 3rd season should have gone: Episodes 1 to 3 Din and Bo go to the mines get the other mandos to talk but they run into the pirates and end up joining together. By episode 4 they should all be on mandelore the rest of the season and stay on main plot. Leave Grogu with Luke until season 4. That would have made the season epic.
"You had me at battle droids"
The female Mandolorian on the ship is Mercedes Monet who is a professional wrestler she was also in season 2 of the show she wrestled Boba Fett
"What will I do when I don't see Grogu?"
Probably stop tearing up every five minutes...
You've recently seen that type of battle droid on earlier episodes of The Mandalorian; it's the same model that killed Din's parents.
@@JonPaulMaki you’re right. For some reason I was thinking of an episode of Rebels with Zeb and Chopper

I crushed the thumbs up marker on your post. Amazing post, thatnerdtara. Continue to keep the noteworthy work. Eager to see more from you.
Thank you, Tara! 🛡Gotta appreciate the forbidden love between the Mon Calamari nobleman and the Quarren captain. 💞

They missed a great opportunity for the Droid to say we don't serve your kind at the bar.

This was a great reaction Tara ✌🏽💯☺️
I take Star Wars seriously so I loved this reaction from you team Jedi forever

Yeah, this episode was a mess😢

Wait, you don't have a baby Grogu toy yet??

One of my favorite episodes. Can I get another season of Din and Bo-Katan on random adventures please!
Doc Brown getting in trouble ... Where's Marty when you need him? Sounds like Biff causing problems ... 😉

You have to Remember Din hates droids doesnt trust them and with good reason they were the reason for the clone wars
CSI Mandalore
That's some Elder Wand bullsh*t logic right there 😆😂
And you've now gotten to the most hated episode of this season. Just because of the leaders of this planet. But I personally love Christopher Lloyd's character. And the conclusion of the darksaber question was pitch perfect
i love the show and your so beautiful
And this episode was the turd that ruined the punch bowl.
This is one of the worst episodes
Strongly disagree. It was pretty awesome, lots of interesting parts and lore and played like an episode of law and order in a way
@CaptainFettCosplay Agree to disagree. Personally with only 8 episodes I think they should have dropped the Droid mission and focused on the Mandelorian unification better with more character development.
