As a Flames fan , Sean is one of my all time favourite players. Class act all the way. It was tough seeing him battle injuries , even tougher to see the Flames ship him out because of those injuries. It was great seeing him get his body and game back into shape the past year or two , and I was happy for him when I first found out he had signed with Columbus and was going to reunite with Johnny. Just one more heartbreaking aspect of this tragedy that he’s lost his best friend , and lost the opportunity to play together again 😔
As a habs fan , my heart is for Sean Monahan. He went there to play with Johnny, I hope Sean has an amazing season. You guys are getting a great player and we loved him here for his short stay.
Jets fan here, we only had Monny for a short time in Winnipeg but he quickly grew to be one of my most favorite players, because he knew how to play with Nikolaj and they did great things on the ice together.... sure can see how much he's grieving for his best buddy Johnny and I'm whispering extra prayers for comfort for Sean in this journey through grief that he's on... and I'm going to be rooting on Columbus, I think everybody who loves hockey is standing behind CBJ team with support and cheering you guys on... and I know Johnny is looking down from above and cheering you on from the beyond..
I’m going to keep repeating this, I heard someone say, “The greatest gift to Matthew, Johnny and the Gaudreau Family, is If the world learns how they lived their life and we all improved our lives as a result”. Godspeed to that big hockey rink in the sky.
Agreed, I think our fan bases will stand behind each other this season. Good luck this year. Monahan and this whole team will feel the city's love for sure. Lets win for Johnny.
I’m cheering hard for these guys. I hope they are able to attract some great talent as a way to commemorate Johnny Hockey. This team has had some tough years.
I hope that Elvis can be a support system for Sean, he also lost his best friend due to tragic circumstances. Yes they are suffering as a team, losing a teammate, but they both lost a best friend. Johnny will live on inside the hearts of those who knew and loved him ♥️ 💙 Wishing you all the best Sean in this new chapter❤
Hey Sean its Steve. I know you dont know me or 99 percent of the fans in Calgary but we have stood with you before this tragedy happened to our Friend And we Stand with you now my friend. May you whip in 60+ this season for Jonny, the whole fan base in Calgary, but mostly for yourself big guy. Time to switch gears into positivity and strength Sean you got this 💪♥️
Terrible way to go out for a very talented player and his brother during a time where tears should have been shed in happiness, not sadness. My heart goes out to you guys and the family of two young men that had more to give to the game. Go Sabres and Buffalo is with you guys and the family and the city. Good luck guys
Anyone Else Not Able to stand these Egoistical Dullards who keep asking Young Adults about their grieving process while they're currently grieving??Didn't know the Media In Columbus were Therapists!! Asking Monny the Same Johnny Question's over and over again while he made it pretty damn clear with this first question, that he didn't wanna talk about it!! It was egregious!! Don needs to do something about these Vulture's!! It's been like this for years!! Always trying to pry and get a story!! It's Mainly been Brian Hedger and Aaron Portzline!! Always Negative!! Always Asking about 6 or 7 convoluted questions wrapped into one!! And Doing that to guys who barely or don't speak english!! Always Prying into Personal Stuff and asking questions that could hurt the Locker Room!! And did I mention the Negative? Plus they'll ask the same guy the same questions 10 different ways after every game the whole season!! Godspeed🙏🏻
takes an enormous amount of courage to sit up there and take these questions about losing ur best friend and linemate. i hope sean scores 50 this season...
I know the relationship between sports journalists and athletes that can only manage some canned answers is a rocky one, but could we leave the Gaudreau questions off of Monahan? I think I’d lose it if halfway through the season they’re still asking the man about losing his best friend right before hockey season starts.
Came Here to say the same thing!! They are Absolutely Horrendous!! I knew They would be!! They're Always Negative!! All for their own egos!! I've Been Saying it for Years!!
Obviously rooting for the whole team, but I'm really rooting for Sean the most this season.

Why do these reporters need to wade into peoples personal grieving?
Because the public wants to know. Cmon man
Amen🙏🏻 Its Appalling with what these guys are going through!!
