There is no penalty for the "wrong lead" coming out of a rollback as long as you are in the correct lead before you turn the first corner..

How can you mark 78s when you pick up the wrong lead out of a rollback? Just asking, not being critical as you can't argue with this pair's talent.

The lead does not matter straight out of the rollback. As long as you are in the correct lead before you turn ur corner, you are all good with no penalties

@@laurennear-fliegler8192 I would like to know the reasoning behind the lack of penalty, as it creates such an awkward picture? What about if they crossfire a few strides when coming out of the rollback, is that penalized? Plus it is not a perfect lead change when he is on that straight line before he turns that corner before his last stop but with that high score I guess that is also not penalized?

@@myronschabe as long as the lead change is clean and you change before you turn onto the short side of the arena there is no penalty. if your horse kicks out of changes late appropriate penalties will be applied. same thing with a run down. horses can change leads on a run down with no penalties.
