  • A slideshow of photos taken during a visit to Ballinahinch, Co. Tipperary in 2014 with some photos taken in 2017 and 2019 of the nearby railway line. Ballinahinch is located on the foothills of the Slieve Felim Mountains in the north of County Tipperary. It is best known for the setting of the comedy series Killinaskully which also featured the nearby village of Killoscully which was known in the series as Bally. Killinaskully had 5 series from 2004 to 2008 starring Pat Shortt. The pub An Bonnan Buí in Ballinahinch closed in January 2014 and was still closed during my visit in June 2014. It has since reopened as a pub. It was called Jacksies in Killinaskully. St. Joseph's Church in Ballinahinch was built in the 1880's. It is one of two churches in Ballinahinch & Killoscully Parish in the Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly. The Tipperay hurler Shane McGrath comes from Ballinahinch. Near Ballinahinch is the Limerick-Ballybrophy railway line and the M7 Limerick-Dublin motorway.
