Loving the content Wayne. My wife and her family are from Kanchanaburi, so was lovely to see all the the spots you have visited. May I say the respect you showed around the death railway vlog was really well done and emotional. Keep up the good work.
Nice routine and easy to settle there I am thinking BUT the temperature mate. That is a real problem especially the older we get. Chiang Mai still appeals for that reason alone as I am imagining without having been there that the climate whilst having baking hot days itself in the middle of the day would be more comfortable either very early in the morning or later in the day approaching sunset. Nice vid mate and sensing the end there is nigh, well for Kanchanaburi and the adventure there anyway. Take care and have fun wherever it may be the travels take you 🤩
Chiang Mai is more dry heat, yes mate. It's a little more easy to deal with up North. It's baking all over Thailand at the minute but Kanchanaburi feels hotter than the North. The end is nearly here for Kanchanaburi mate, time for somewhere else. Thanks buddy.
As soon as I watched your video about this town yesterday, my friend in thailand showed me pictures of her there. It's her home town. I'm visiting there next time with her.
Enjoy watching your vlogs, my wife is Thai and we will retire in December and leave the US and move to her village in northern part of Thailand and you vlogs are giving us ideas of things to do. Thank you and keep up the great content.
Your singing is excellent, sir. Have you thought of releasing an album...? I love Kanchanaburi though. Been there perhaps 8 or 9 times. So close to the maelstrom of Bangkok, but feels a million miles away. But yeah - my God does it get steamy.
Glad I found your channel about 2 months ago. You have great energy. Love watching your vlogs, your seem a very respectful, happy, chilled, loving life sort of person. Love watching all your different vlogs. Respect to you Wayne. Will be moving to Jomtien end of June from England, hope I love Thailand as much as you.
Thanks for the longer blog on kanchanaburi. I think you hit on a bit on a niche. Finding and exploring off of the normal expat digital nomad destinations
In the 80’s when I was in the Army and stationed in Munich, Germany I used to date a girl who lived in Munich her whole life. I asked her if she ever visited the Dachau concentration camp, just 21 km from her house. She never did and told me she knew about it, but it was a ‘sad place’ and she would just rather forget it was there and what happened there. I brought up the old line “Those who forget their past are doomed to repeat it.” She got angry with me, like who was I to lecture her on what she should and should not remember. Needless to say, we broke up after that.
@@paulsmith689It's "farang" not falang, no need to go native as I'm sure you, unlike the Thais, have no trouble getting your tongue around your "Rs", if you'll pardon the expression.
The date must have been wrong on that memorial, no way was it built in January of 1944. Also, that stall was absolutely loaded with cool T-shirts, surely some of them you liked? I would have walked out of there carrying a bag full of them.
I used to make social experiment of asking my new York born friends have they ever been to see the statue of liberty 🗽. Almost all said they hadn’t & nobody in their family, Father/Mother/ Grandparents hadn’t also. 🙏🏻
Wayne you little charmer 😂 you can’t help it lol saying hallo to all the ladies you seem like you have a bounce in your step 😂 Wayne you should of taken her there mate
Wayne from March to May 5th it’s the hottest 37 to 40 and over but can go to 16 not often but September to January 32 but I still think Bangkok is the hottest but it good weather there Wayne
The experience with the local Kanchanaburi Lady is not unusual. Thais in general seem to know very little about their own country, especially its history.
I live in Las Vegas obviously a tourist attraction. I don’t participate in the things tourists come to Vegas for. I try to stay away from tourists and the attractions they want to see. I can understand the local Thai person not having anything to do with the tourist attraction in her town
Wayne I have a feeling you may be staying here in the future and I wouldn’t blame you and not lots of traffic less people there it isn’t like a ghost town people seem more friendly you have a bit of night life it’s subtle not in your face rent is half price you get more food for less buck what is not to like you have to weigh up everything and I be honest I could stay there without a problem
Hi mate, you know river Kwai doesn’t actually exist? You know it is a fictional name made up just for the movie’ Bridge over the river Kwai’? You know the real name of the river? Just a little history lesson, cheers mate 🇦🇺
Yes mate, I know all about it, don't need the lesson. Thousands of people still call it the River Kwai though, The guard at the bridge even calls it River Kwai. I've got no probs calling it River Kwai. Cheers Peter. And yes, I know what Kwai means in Thai buddy.
It's not called river kwai mate. That was only for the film. Its pronounced river K-W-Ae. Kwai in thai is a buffalo and a derogatory term for someone who is stupid. Great vlogs though.
Loads of people say Kwai mate (even the officer) I'm all good with river Kwai buddy. Yep it means buffalo. Not in all province I believe though.. Cheers 👍
There was never a bridge over any River Kwae, the bridges were built over the Mae Klong and followed the Kwae Noi valley which starts where the Skywalk is today. In 1960 the government changed the name of the Mae Klong to River Kwai in a strange life imitating art move to cash in on the movie.
most likely those are teachers and students who knows little english coming to see the history every ones raving about kwai is so small mate she don't know or she had 1 too many 🍺🍺🍺🍺🥴you shown the proof

I thought about a Christmas album, we shall see how it goes. Kanchanaburi is such a special place. Yes, super hot here.
Have really been enjoying the Kanchanaburi chapter! Place looks like it has enough going on and is chill at the same time!! Stay cool out there!
Thanks mate! Kanchanaburi has everything you need but is still a very chilled place.
Nice video Wayne I like 👍 this place . Can stay here a while
Thank you! It's a place that I don't want to leave.
Who was the girl frozen in time on the tracks at 15.50 😮 😅
Haha, I thought someone would spot her.
2 x Singha & 2 x Leos 🤩🤩 - it’s an easy place to really like - nice work my friend 👌👍✔️😃👋🙏
haha she didn't like Leo 🤣. Cheers Ant.
Hi Wayne. If you get the chance - pop up to Srinakarin reservoir - beautiful lake and you will certainly enjoy the route 👍
I'm leaving Kanchanaburi soon mate, but I'll take a note of it for next time. Thanks

Nice one Wayne.
2 new different types of rides in the same vlog. Your arsh has been busy. 😅
Take it easy.
🤣🤣 That Arsh has been all over the place, these past few weeks. Take it easy, man.

👍👍👌
I am planning to go there for the dawn service on ANZAC Day (25 April). Don't sweat it LOL, it's 40 in Chiang Mai as well.
Chiang Mai dry heat though, easier to deal with.
Great vlog Wayne really enjoyed id say your really enjoying Kanchanaburi enjoy a fan in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Nice one Brian! I love Newcastle, I stayed in Jesmond before, and been to St James park a few times.
Awesome stuff mate how far is that place from Bangkok
Cheers Dave. Kanchanaburi is about 2.5 hours from Bangkok. By Train.
You need to go to the waterfall. Where you are it's beautiful
It's not looking to good this time of year, so I've heard.

Wayne if you ever stop these vids I will report to interpol and put some Buddha hex on you…. lol 😂
Keep em coming brother absolutely love em 🙏
🤣🤣 No plans to stop anytime soon mate.
Now we know the proper time to be on the skywalk
Yes! A lot better than midday in the blazing sun. See the views better than though.

Thanks for sharing mate. Sorry to hear you broke up. I guess some just don't want to know or talk about things. I can understand it.

Happy Days 👍👍😎
Kalasin is in the northeast near khonkhen.
Nice! I do recall seeing it on the map now you've wrote it. I didn't have a clue where it was though, when they said it. Cheers.
We'll just say she wasn't the intellectual type Wayne. 😂😂
I'm still stunned she didn't know about it. 🤣
She probably did know about it (hard not to know being from there) but didn’t want to talk about it with a falang.

That's true Dan, looking back, it seems a little early. That's what it said though. Some great shops about mate, nothing I liked so far.
Get an elastic and wrap it around the phone holder it will stop wrattling i had that problem

Ya. He’s not leaving 😂😂😂 Say bye bye to Chiang Mai
Where is this Chiang Mai place 🤣

Hope it wasn't that 'Lady' from your recent blog, lol. Take it easy Wayne. 🇹🇭

Most likely , lot's of different groups and tours come here. The Death Railway is far from small though. A few drinks always confuses things haha.
It is not strange that the girl didn't know. It is a number of years the thais would rather forget. Thais feel shame for allowing it to happen.
No, not strange I guess. It's the same in other places.
