It's probably just for the demonstration to make it simpler to understand and more visually appealing. A lock like this would come from the factory unkeyed and a locksmith would probably put security pins in it when they assemble it for the customer.
@robert long my stock of Everest primuses all have standard pins, I put spools and ASSA barrels in my personal cylinders with extreme key bitting for good measure
Why does the animation look like it is from 1990? Nice animation, but rendering has progressed, folks. Soft reflections, GI, AO, DOF, all make an image look professional.
