- Learn how to remove this annoying white bar at the bottom of the screen on Instagram, in any android smartphone.
This bug has been reported mainly in Xiaomi phones and it happens as a result of a misidentification of the screen limits. The app believes it has to save space for the old android buttons.

IMPORTANT UPDATE! (21/04/2022): For the past 24 hours, Instagram users around the world have been reporting a black or white screen popping up suddenly while navigating through the app UI. Posts have been made both on Twitter and Reddit and it seems to be happening mostly on outdated versions of the Instagram app.
The page seems to be some kind of "Privacy Check" / "Checkpoint" and it might contain a message of this sort: {“message”:”checkpoint_required”instagram.com/privacy/checks/?privacy_flow=1\u0026next=instagram://checkpoint/dismiss”,”lock”:false,”flow_render_type”:0,”status”:”fail”
As some people have already pointed out in the comments, this error has been making the second method of this tutorial ineffective. I'm sorry to everyone who was affected and I hope Instagram fixes this and doesn't just force us to update to the latest version (which has bugs) 😔✌

Hi, can you please give me advice? I was using the first method but then my whole software got updated and the "hide full screen indicator" function is gone 😭 I cant downgrade because I'm using mobile operator data instead of wifi all the time and the operator somehow knows it is not an official Instagram app and won't let me use it.
Hi friend! Sure! Let's see what we can do. 🙂 Try to search for the option in the search bar inside the settings app. Sometimes it might seem gone but still be there.
If that doesn't work, to help you further I'll need to know what phone and Android version do you have.

I have all the features except the full screen indicator removal option. It shows in setting but after clicking it, it disappears from the setting... I really wanted that ios like indicator. My miui version is 12th. That's so annoying 😔
There is a bug in my account. When i try to swipe on the home screen to open the instagram direct it doesn't open. It makes me click on the dm button. Also the menu bar shows when instagram direct is open. Can you please help me fix it.

Hi! Facebook Lite isn't properly adapted for navigation gestures and in some phones ends up leaving a white bar for the old navigation buttons. The issue has persisted for 2 years and what I'd do
is use the Facebok mobile web version.
To do this you open "m.facebook.com" on Chrome;
Click on "menu" in the upper right corner (the three dots);
and then select "add to home screen".
