Doesn't the car have a car wash mode in the settings to avoid the charging door problem you're describing? I am with ya on the proximity sensor issue; I go into and out of my garage all the time and the constant lock/unlock from the car not being able to understand that i'm just wanting to walk by and not get into the car. And it'll sometimes unlock itself when i'm in the room next to the kitchen. What I want is to be able to leave the car unlocked in my garage such that anyone can open and close the doors, but not drive off. I want proximity locking to also support some kind of gesture to demonstrate intentionality of getting in.
Sort of. The car wash mode is primarily for when you're in the car going through a car wash. You can go inside and enable it I suppose every time you want to wash your car, but that is also a hassle to do. That only sort of fixes half the issue being the car wash, but not the other half of annoying unlocking all the time. To fix both issues you just need to turn off proximity unlocking lol
Yes, Rivian's have a car wash mode. It works for both putting the car in a car wash and also just having it sit in the driveway to hand wash it. It is very easy to turn on & off.
I have no issues with my Frunk auto-closing. Not denying you do (or some others), but I dont think that's a widespread issues. Others who I know who have Rivians also have no issues.
There’s a setting for the proximity lock/unlock for at home. I have mine set to only lock at home, so that it will only unlock manually from the app or fob or key card, but will proximity lock whenever I walk away in the driveway

Some of these complaints are so trivial that it begs this vid to be labeled biased for Tesla. It almost sounds like you knew about a lot of these before you bought it and yet you still did.
I just want to put this out as a disclaimer for anyone interested in a Rivian. This is a wildly inaccurate review. My May 2024 R1S has none of these problems. The digital criticisms boil down to a lack of knowledge of the cars features and settings.
Good for you buddy. However, I posted evidence in the video of people complaining about the frunk issue. Additionally, I've had a service tech out that tried to fix the issue, but now they say I need to go to a service center since the panel is misaligned.

This is only half a solution... since it requires you to unlock the car everytime. For me, I just always keep it unlocked at home.
@@kevinspamoni There are three options for Location Behavior at Home, Lock and Unclock, Lock only or Off. Sounds like you’re looking for Off
As a R1T owner, They need to fix the pause-and-resume cruise control…. It is ridiculous that they haven’t thought about that!..
Just recently Rivian announce UA-cam and Chrome Cast apps will be available for the R1S/T in an upcoming OTA update.
Exciting! Step in the right direction.

really hate that this review starts off with a "commercial" I literally couldn't watch after that!
Cry me a river. I put time out of my own day to make this video for free to help people make the right decision. I put timestamps so you can skip it.
