- Kate Castle from Southampton has invented the ultimate solution to toileting in the great outdoors. Bog In A Bag is a camping toilet that can also be utilised as a seat. She's looking for a £50,000 investment for a 15% stake in her company.
Season 9, Episode 5.
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

I absolutely loved that Kate gained the oportunity to educate Deborah's brattiness "Deborah was right, I do have a preferred dragon, I'd like to accept your offer, Theo". Brilliant.
Deborah has a deep-rooted issue with rejection, and she so often shows it. The merest hint of not being preferred and she'll retract her offer-- done it a few times.

actually it is very very difficult to find a fault with Deborah....... she is amazing dragon.... everything she says and does has a solid reason reason to back it. she is awesome

I am confused which company is producing those. Kate was a director of GEAR TO GO LIMITED but that is now dissolved and Kate has no other director positions. Perhaps she sold the rights to another company who is now producing and selling the product.

It‘s a strange mix of confidence and apparent insecurity… don‘t know how to describe it.
I think it's a hidden sales / charm tactic . You could see she won over most of them by the end. Kind of innocent, naïve spirit that makes them want to nurture her.

nothing to do with being insulted - most Dragons play the game this way - it is powerful method of discouraging entrepreneurs from considering other bids - thus of pressuring them into accepting offers from a position of weakness..

Theo's question was definitely a loaded one. There are few ways to answer that without alienating other dragons. And I think he knew that.
And he kept her in suspense which is why she was nearly crying when Deborah withdrew and Theo hadn't given an offer yet.

Deborah's always been one of my favourite dragons but I just can't forgive her obvious insecurity about not being the favourite; she can't handle rejection well. And that's quite alarming given she's a very successful and powerful woman, she shouldn't feel insecure at least not with rejection but she obviously is, she's always been the first to retract an offer the moment other dragons start getting more attention from the entrepreneur. To be honest, she doesn't need to hear every offer without saying anything, any form of negotiation before its the next dragons turn. I don't know where the dragons got this level of entitlement that an entrepreneur can't even ask questions about one dragon's offer without making the other dragons feel unwanted. They're childish in this respect, they absolutely are. Good manners and professional conduct should never extend to one's ego.

It’s not alarming at all honestly, many people have deep seeded issues with rejection from childhood trauma & by the childish way Deborah acts I wouldn’t be surprised if childhood trauma is exactly why she’s that way.

Anyone remember that IPA pitch where the entrepreneurs admitted they wanted Deborah over Sara, yet Sara was still graceful to do a deal with them after they failed to agree one with Deborah?

Yeah Deborah always says 'it's just business, it's not personal' but then gets really triggered in situations like this. If the business and profitability is what you're looking for, let her see if she gets an offer from Theo and if she doesn't, you can still turn it into a nice little earner with her. Talk about cutting your nose off to spite your face.

Don't get why Debbie didn't realise she could partner up with Theo for 15% each instead of just going out.
I'm surprised that Deborah would be interested in a product with so much plastic waste which will go into landfills and which some campers will just leave in the woods, etc.

Hmm I actually think there is a protocol in not showing all your cards for the preferred dragon. Showing who you prefer very soon can fail badly. some entrepreneurs (if lucky ) don’t reveal unless it’s really necessary however it takes guts and skill. a lot of the entrepreneurs might not have in the beginning … which to me makes DD very watchable series.
