SirCraigius its only considered a harsh word in north america. How that word came to be used in that manner I could not tell you. But it means a slovenly, unkempt, dirty woman, which Cinderella was, she was physically dirty from sitting among the cinders and was dressed in rags. That's what the word slut means..
