Mike has the kind of permanent look on his face where he could just be deciding which sandwich to order but instead you would think he'd be plotting to avenge his lover's death by pushing the killer into a ravine full of barbed wire. He is the embodiment of intensity.
Yet he's also somehow a goddamn sweetheart and lovely little goofball? We need more of him in all our lives. Just saying.

Take Shelter was one of the films that got me hooked on smaller and more sparse projects. I love it a lot.

I love Midnight Special. That is a movie that drops you right in with no background and says, “ hold on for a wild ride “. And man does it deliver. Michael Shannon is so good as the boys father. In fact, everyone is great. Joel Edgerton, Kirsten Dunst, Adam Driver and as always, Sam Shepherd. Awesome movie.
I bet Michael Shannon could even make a crazed sorority sister email interesting.

Hey "offcamerashow" crew. I have a weird question for you that I'm hoping you could answer. Do you guys boom or lav these interviews? I can tell you have a good post guy helping get rid of background but the show consistently sounds great but that wide shot on camera 3 makes me think it's not boom but if it wires I dont know how you consistently get the results you do and i've been doing it for about 25 years hah. Thanks! Great job!

Michael Shannon is one of the few actors I truly believe could make an amazing portrayal of Dr Doom in the MCU but something tells me he might not be so interested in signing up for something like that. Sure he was in Man of Steel but that was a one off. Dr Doom would mean multiple movies. But he is such an interesting villain that needs someone like Shannon to play him to bring all the different facettes to life.
He literally read the general Grant memoirs to prepare for his role as General Zod
i'd love to seem him as a campy comedic Dr Doom-like character but anything actually owned by Marvel is just piping hot dogshit

Same, I totally forgot about it until I looked at one of my bookmarks. Weird.
I am guessing they weren't making enough money. The YT channel is just short clips. To see the full interview, you have to go to their website. Seems like only like $1.50 per interview, but how many people would be willing to pay that? People don't even pay for Netflix and stuff lol plus YT has plenty of other interviews for free. It's a hard sell to ask for money, even if the interviews are high quality and interesting.

This is a man who has lived hard & soft and has observed deeply in both states. He has no social filter at all. Not a care infact for perceptions of others. Much needed. Kids of today are the polar opposite of him. Brittle and constantly looking over shoulder as to what others think. Sad.

Not to malign Sam Jones's interviewing style, because I think it is top notch, but posting this 5 hours ago makes people think this happened recently, when this is from an interview from 4 years ago.
Is it because he has no new material? I've read comments to this affect before.

I'm sure the pandemic has disrupted his ability to film new episodes of the show. Personally I'm glad he's still posting clips from old interviews to keep the channel alive!

Most actors are totally different in real life from what they portray in movies. But he seems like the same characters he plays in his movies. He's just playing himself.
What? He has significant range and he rarely seems to play himself.
