I feel like the kitchen needs an island just to separate the space a bit. You can find rolling or stationery islands for kitchens that aren't permanent. Thanks for sharing your new place with us.

Bo is such a gentleman. I love how he encourages you and compliments you, and how much you two seem to appreciate each other.
You should put a small loveseat and then your bookshelves on each side. Add a cute floor lamp, and a cute coffee table. You could make it like a little reading area, or for people to hang out while you are in the kitchen.

You could make that space a sort of cozy second sitting area. Go with your idea of putting bookshelves, add some comfy chairs, a side table or coffee table and some art work, and it could be a nice space to read your bible or a book in the morning or any old time . And the chairs could be brought into the living room if you ever had a lot of friends over.

Maybe in the walk in you could like have a desk set up with like your computer in the far side from the door and just make it like a nice foyer kind of thing with flowers and stuff:)

Can't wait to see your home finished! I was thinking that because your kitchen is so open, an island would be a great way to make your kitchen seem more complete. In my house the island is where everyone gathers to socialize and help cook/prepare whatever is being done! You could even find one that you would be able to have bar stools on the opposite side, just a thought!

Advice, my husband and I lived together for 12 years before we bought our current house. Do not buy furniture according to your rental place. Keep it simple and obviously buy things that you like, but do not do so for the sake of it fitting specific spaces/areas in your house. The reason for this is ....You could and will certainly move and you may have too much furniture for your new place and also items that do not fit the shape of your new place. Only buy what you need. For example, buy 1 sofa and not 2 just because this place has a large livingroom, buy accessories that will go with most decor and not just your current place. Just some advice that will hopefully save you a fair bit of money in the future :) Oh and white shower curtains never a good idea, you'll see what I mean in a few months lol x

I definitely think the dining room area would be super cute where you had thought (between the kitchen and your tv room)! I also think that little area you pointed out between the TV room and the front door would be super cute for entryway things! My roommates and I did this thing for our shoes where we store them in old stained crate boxes and stack them, then hang hooks on the wall for scarves, keys, and what not! I think with your extra space between the front door and the hallway you could do a more relaxed seated area. That way you could store some bookshelves over there with a nice couch to read and maybe even plop a desk to store mail at and work on your laptop. Getting another rug too and some standing lamps can help section off that space and make it seem like it's own! It could be just a little cluster of coziness lol! Hope that helps! Your new place is adorable btw!

When you get cable or internet installed they can move the cords. It's probably in that room because the last tenants had it in there. They can easily move it!
I think the small room would be to cramped with a tv and couch. I would make it your morning room. A little table with 2 comfy chairs for reading the bible and having coffee. Do yoga or whatever you wanna do.
Yes, exactly. It shouldn't be very expensive or difficult for the cable company to move the tv hook up. I agree the room looks too small to be a couch/tv area. A sitting room is a nice suggestion or an office like other people suggested. Good luck with decorating and the move, Cambria.

Talia Da Silva How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. Psalm 119:9 It all has to do with staying close to god and having a close relationship with him. Fasting and praying help. We have to be more spirit than flesh because our flesh is what lusts for worldly things sex, money, drugs, etc. Its very hard to stay in purity but not impossible. As a newlywed, I am SO ECSTATIC for you guys as you begin this journey!! Marriage is so wonderful and truly a humongous blessing completely from and of the Lord. The place is looking great!
It's so much fun to watch you with your new home! And since you asked, here's what I would do:
I would get a small-ish round kitchen table with four chairs (and at least 2 leaves) and instead of putting them in that far corner, and because this is such a huge open space, I would put the table in chairs "in the kitchen"... far enough out from the counters that you have plenty of space to move around ... it would fill up and warm up that area. I have seen that done many times, and it makes that large space more cozy - and definitely convenient!
I would definitely make the room off the main room into your office. Yes, the main tv/internet hookup is there, but thats not a problem. You can still hook that up there, and then use wireless receivers for television in the living area and bedrooms... all cable companies that I know of have the wireless options - and they are awesome! I think you really need a dedicated space for your office ... if you put it in the guest bedroom you would always have to adapt when you had company. And you could put some/most of your bookshelves in the office room as well. And the office would feel more like part of the main living area.
In that corner that you talked about using for a dining room table, I would make a seating area... you might have to make a "fake" wall by putting chairs/couch with the back to the kitchen so you would have a wall for a tv...
That long wall in the main area is tricky because of the doorway into the hall... but you could put more seating there as well, and more bookshelves too
And as far as the bedrooms go ... I would move Beau's furniture into the guest room and have him stay in there until you two are married. That way that furniture will eventually become guest room furniture, AND you will have the Master Bedroom empty so you can buy your new bed and bedroom furniture and get it all set up, and then use the master bedroom together when you are husband and wife. That just makes it feel more special.
Anyway ... you asked, and that was what I was thinking as I was watching you show off your new home! Wishing you both much joy and happiness!

make the small living room like a den, kind of a personal retreat area. keep your bookshelves, a tv, a couch, maybe a desk in there. you could do whatever in there. then make the general living room out in the open area for when you have guests and want to host things. have a dining table, a couch, and a tv out there as well!
I would do a coffee bar right off the kitchen, just like you suggested. We had one that was across the kitchen in our old house and walking over there was crazy every morning because we had to take our mugs, sugar, coffee, etc over to it. You could do you coffee bar on like a sideboard in your dining room. Totally do a little table with a mirror on the wall to the right, as soon as you walk in with like a bowl for keys, wallets, etc. and then the space across from your dining room would make a pretty office space. You could have the set up similar to how you have it now in your room with the desk under the window and then do matching book shelves on each side!
You should make an island in your kitchen with some bar stools! It would be so cute!
I really like your vlogs. And I think that you and Bo are the greatest couple. And Bo is definitely right about your style for the house. It is not finished yet, but already looking so nice.

In the front entry way area you could have a little sitting area with a couple chairs and a coffee table. Then you would have your kitchen table in the corner area. What a great place to start your lives together!
you should buy a fireplace. You can buy them separately when you don't have one in your home. A fireplace in the big room would be a nice touch! and you could put a sitting area in front of it or something

Chalkboard with a cute little distressed table for coffee station would be so cute.. You could do a little bistro table with two chairs and a hanging clock or sign and a cute rug... The bookshelves are a must. We made a little sitting area with white chairs and a cute spiritual sign and put all our bibles and related books in that space as a prayer area. Then I changed it to my office and honestly rather keep it as a prayer area so that is definitely something enjoyable and personable.
You should definitely buy a cute little island for your kitchen area. It would divide that room better. As well as give you more counter space! :) hope that helps 💜

I would definitely say a moveable island for the middle of the kitchen. Maybe it could double as your coffee station or you could get 2. One for the kitchen and one for the coffee station then you'd have the option to move them together if you need a bigger island. For that area on the opposite side of the room I'd say make it a cute sitting area! Some comfy chairs, a coffee table, and book shelves. It'd be a perfect spot for people to sit and relax if you're in the kitchen

You can put in a desk/reading area in the corner across from the kitchen! you could also put down a rug in that area to visually have that space look separate from the rest! love your vlogs and videos!
You'll love the seventh generation shower cleaner! It works so well. Also where you want the book shelves you should make that into a little reading nook with some chairs and coffee table and one side table. Maybe put the chairs along the small wall by the way and kitchen that way it doesn't seem closed off and you'll still have an open floor plan.
I'd put your kitchen/dining table where you said you were going to put it, under the fan...since you have a guest room, you could get one of those beds that folds up against the wall and make like a guest room/office. So when you have guests you just have to lower the bed but any other time the bed can be up and you have a whole room for an office/recording area. And maybe put the bookcases along that wall, or like if you have two one on each side of the window and have a small chair or seating area so you can sit there and read but also have the other room as a living room for the tv and such.
I was thinking a breakfast nook and dinning room or get a rolling island for the kitchen.

Piggybacking on your leaning bookcase idea, you could also put a sofa, a coffee table, and some seating cushions and turn that space into a living area/reading nook :)

loving your blogs, girl! Looking at your kitchen, I suggest investing on an island for extra counter space and even storage! I believe ikea sells them, and I think some even have wheels for easy moving. Plus, it'd also give the kitchen area a bit more shape. I also love your idea for the bookcases. I think that area would be great to display your books and Bo's surfing stuff. Maybe even add a desk in that area? Can't wait to see what y'all do with the place. You could get a shays (sp?) lounge or a big comfy chair and make like a reading nook to put with your book shelves.

I definitely think you should get some sort of island for the kitchen. The make rolling islands that you can get since you don't have one built in. I think this would help define the kitchen space, and give you more counter/cupboard/storage space!

Loved the haul and I like seeing what cleaners other people use in their home! I can't wait to see how you guys decorate the home. I have a hard time deciding on decor. I think a couch with a chaise would look awesome and be super comfy. I think in the second living room would be awesome to have bookcases on the long wall and then in the center could be two comfy chairs with a end table between them. I found a simple modern type one with a metal design sides with a black glass hexagon for the top. I found it at Ross a couple of years ago. I think a coffee station would look great at the edge of the kitchen or a short bookcase for cookbooks and dining room decor. I feel like on the width part of the second living room a coffee station could look great too.
I think you should put the book cases with some cute sofa chairs to make it like a second living room. In our house hold we use our second living room as a PRAYER room or area so that way we are away from the TV and all distractions. You can even add a cross decor to make it feel more spirtual.
I would do the room with the tv hook up as like a book nook and you can put the tv in there then have your living room in the open part of the house.
I think a sectional in the living area would be so cute! And for the area by the door you could do 2 chairs and a coffee table by the window and a book case or something on the wall!
I think you should use that really room off the kitchen as a little cozy living room and then have the dining room in the kitchen room and have a island just to separate the two spaces slightly more! Also have like a bench or chair in this kitchen if people want to watch you cook and stuff, stick with your bookcase ideas though! You could add cute plants and stuff too! On that wall where you said you don't know what to put there, put a desk right in front of the window and do your office work there and put the leaning bookcases on either side!! That would look awesome!
You can make your own cleaners, hand soap and dish soap (once you're settled, I totally understand not wanting to right now) for way cheaper. You can look up recipes but vinegar and water is your friend. Especially if you want to stay away from chemicals.

I think the ideas you have for the house are great! I would have the tv room and then I would do bookcases and maybe a couch in the other room and make it all comfy and cozy and you could do bible studies there maybe and read there and stuff like that
Put bookcases on either side of the window on that wall and then put an oversized seat or some sort of sitting maybe even with an ottoman under the window :)
You could do a living room in where the tv cables are then in the main room to a dinnind room. Then do bookshelves/desks for office/sitting coffee and reading area. That would make it so you can do work or read while being together and have a cozy living room.
That's kinda confusing. Basically you could have a coffee and Office and reading room opposite to your dining room table. Then do the living room in the other room.

I think the room that you say is going to be like the living room could be an office! Or if that's already another room, it could be the living room and then in the big central room you just have book shelves and two chairs or something! So like a living room without a tv...!
