A great trip, Ray and Ann. Brings back a lot of memories of sailing in those waters with the RCN. For steady shots, you'll have to look into a gimbal system so that the camera stays in one position when the boat is rocking. Looking forward to the updates and improvements you will be making. Enjoy the water this summer.
The shots were actually done with a camcorder with a built in mechanical gimble and electronic stabilization. :) Here is a look at it. ua-cam.com/video/Yhfkra0XkJU/v-deo.html
Hello Anne and Ray! I must say, this is probably the most impressive series of videos you guys have made to date!! I was smiling right along with the both of you! I was so relaxed watching this! So enjoyable! I was so impressed! It struck a chord with me! Now I think I know what REAL freedom is. No borders or customs. Almost no limitations! You take your time and you relax and enjoy. You don't have to worry about traffic and other idiots on the road. Totally AWESOME!! Thank you both!! I loved this!! May God continue to bless you both! Stay safe, and stay happy!! PEACE to both of you! PS. Anne is one heck of a Captain! You go Girl!!
Thanks! We are back out on the water today for a few days. We saw humpback whales and orcas this morning. Will have a video out with some footage. :) Cheers! Ray
Sweet. I love the choice of music in this video. What a beautiful area that is. You've really got the best of both worlds now. I'm looking forward to the projects and the tours. Enjoy being docked for a month. Take care. And thanks for the fireworks. I can hear them this weekend and my dogs are absolutely coming unglued. Poor things. I do what I can but it ain't enough, clearly.
My yorkie saw fireworks for the first time, poked our heads up through the campers sun roof, she just stared at em, lol. Hopefully next time she hears em she doesn’t freak. 🤞🍻
Can't wait for the boat mods to come. I wasn't sure I would stick with you on the boat videos, but I have really enjoyed the trip, and the scenery is amazing. Thanks for sharing.
After watching this series of your new to you boat, I'm curious how you will store it during the winter. Looking forward to the mods and updates on the list.
We will rent a spot in a dry land boat storage yard. They have a sling lift to get it out of the water and move it to the storage area. The boat came with a full winter cover.
I switched from the residential package to the roam package, an extra 30 CAD a month. I think it should work anywhere there is a blue hexagon on the map. www.starlink.com/map?source=roam Has worked well so far. Plug it in and in a few minutes it connects. I don't use it while in motion, I believe you have to pay more for that feature. Seems to keep a pretty good connection even with the boat swinging on anchor and with the mast and rigging blocking some of the sky.
Several years ago my wife won 4 days at Sonora Resort on Quadra island. We had a great time there. At the time it was owned by the Louie's of London Drugs. I don't know if they still do.
Sure. :) Last summer we averaged about 1.5 - 2 gallons per hour over 3 months of use. Usually cruised at around 6-7 knots 1800 RPM It has a 1976 120hp Ford Lehman six cylinder diesel engine. It's much the same that was found in farm tractors but has been marinized for use in a boat.

@@LoveYourRV Nice. I'm certain you will give us the details when the time comes this fall as you prepare for your southern journeys.
Ray, did you have to make any changes to your Starlink plan to use it on Vestri? Thanks for the great videos!

Hey ray,
Love the videos. How are you supposed to know about the current? Is there an app you can find out the information?
Anne uses a chart plotter app called Navionics, it has weather tides and currents - ua-cam.com/video/W0zoN1Y-NCk/v-deo.html
Ray as a newbie can you tell me roughly how much fuel a trawler like your uses .
When you do your boating videos, you could change your channel name for those to #LoveYourMV - just saying. LOL
Hi Ray. What model is your Cougar RV?
Its a 2011 276RLSWE
@@LoveYourRV Thank you.
