This tutorial was simple and straightforward. The instructions were clear and little to no extra rambling. I appreciated the addition demonstration of how the sensor connects as well as the close-up shot of the specific area. Overall, a well-made tutorial.
I try and limit the talking. Not sure if it helps with my youtube placement. I guess youtube wants you to ramble about your dog, wife, neighbor or whatever to keep people on your channel longer until you get to the info people are actually looking for. I hate how so many people just waste our time. When it takes 30 seconds to 2 minutes to get to the info listening to someone we don't even know is a waste. Thanks for the positive feedback. My mechanic quoted this at $626 for the job. With the help from your video, it cost me $27 for the sensor and the socket and max of 20 minutes with the van. Thank you!
Yepp!!! They love have you drop your drawers and screw you over.... Glad it saved you a ton... They would have done it the same way and laughed at you calling you an idiot behind your back and pocketed an extra $500 for a $150 job... Was it a dealership or a private shop?

You said housing was cracked did yours leak oil constantly or did it leak randomly at times. Sounds like a dumb question but my caravan will leak out about 2 qts all at once about every 10-14 days and none in between and it’s coming from that area of the sensor
Hello... Other day i had check engine light came on..checked and showed code p06dd .. but I had another thing happened which I noticed is that normally on highway going 100 km /hr my rpm were around 1600 and after the engine light and code they are sitting around 2200 ...can that oil pressure make the rpm affected by it.. ?? Any suggestions will be appreciated
I have no idea what the gap is back there. It should have a thread sealer, so snug should do the trick. They are brass threads, so I'd suggest not to overdue it.
Should be a gap. I did it from the side and didn't notice the gap when I took the old one out. I over did it and broke the threads off and cracked the housing. Had to replace the whole thing.
Normally I would keep turning something tight until it stops because it is screwed all the way in, but with this it kept turning and I said there’s no way it should turn that much, so I just stopped before I kept turning it too much and something broke lol I turned on the van and nothing leaked, I guess this doesn’t go in super tight like an oil drain plug where it completely stops, just turn it until it feels snug like video says, start it and check for leaks and then your good. In case anyone wants the part number from autozone for the Duralast oil pressure sensor for $46 it’s PS401 (it’s an exact oem replacement with rounded edges like stock sensor not pointed edges that some other brand sensors use 27mm socket), and the rounded edges oil pressure sensor socket from autozone is Part# 25254. (My vehicle is a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan SE)

When you remove the old broken or worn pressure sensor out of the engine, does it leak out oil because there is a hole where you just removed the old oil pressure sensor with the special socket tool. (Maybe just have a rag under the hole before you install the new pressure sensor, so no oil drips from the hole while swapping sensors)
@@Dolladog Got ya! Thanks I get that explanation better. When the engine is off the oil all drains down, so there is NO oil that should be leaking out. You won't have room to put a towel in there either.
I have the right socket but I can't seem to get it to go on to the oil pressure sensor that is already in there it fits the part I bought from the store but can't seem to get it to fit into the one that is already in the engine ugh I hate these newer cars an there issues xD

It was a private shop which I have trusted. They have been very fair in the past.

If you remove your air filter cover box and snorkel you can see down under the oil filter housing and see if oil is underneath
it was leaking slowly, but the oil got all over everything, but wasn't super noticeable on mine

That's left side of vehicle (driver side), not right side (passenger side).

The one big thing mr. mechanic forgot to mention is to make sure the engine is cool or you will burn your hand like I've done.
