Never mind looking expensive the important thing is comfort and safety and it’s the people.person,couple,family who lives in it to make it a happy home rather than expensive
a good golden yellow lighting is all that you need to give that "rich feel". it makes all the difference. rest all the ideas are secondary and may not be even required.
We would rather look “luxurious” or “high end” not just expensive. Some expensive houses are gaudy and tasteless.

To make a house look expensive is to make it look high-end and luxurious. (hair flip)
Travertine is a stone that gets stained immediately. Beautiful in deed, but extremely impractical for a countertop where people actually cook on. It will only look expensive as long as you don’t cook at home.
Make your home comfortable, to fit your life, that is what luxury means to me. Looking expensive, doesn’t appear in that equation because that look holds no value, no comfort, just the fear that you might break or stain or drop something.

Bravo. This is exquisite and nicely featured. I kept pausing to see the detail, the sight lines, the shadow gaps, the wood grain and the marble vein and the placement of furniture Is all perfection.
When it’s not possible to incorporate these premium materials or custom lighting consider the tip on using tones of the same colour and incorporate the use of different textures.
You can do something with textured rugs, cushions and wall covering (large pictures or wallpaper). It’s also possible to use quality marble or wood tops to create smaller pieces of furniture. Placing basic uplighters or globe lights on the floor behind tall plants also works well as mood lighting.

I would estimate its 120cm to 150cm
Use marble, wood veneer, and large mirrors. That doesn't make your home look expensive, it is expensive.
There aren't colors that are timeless. Everything changes in style.

It is beautiful but it doesn't feel like a home, it definitely feels like an upscale furniture store.
It's not bad but too much beige/tan/light brown. I do like those colors, but it comes across as dull and a bit static. No pop of color anywhere or accent colors, a lot of wood but nothing to balance it enough like a focal point. I would have at least one side with a little something dramatic and not just with lighting.

Love the elevated design aesthetics, however at :55 that clunky end table is very outdated and just looks bad. Not a fan of the big ugly clay pot, candle stick holders, oversized flower container, and that big cone style light fixture is also awful. The dark colored cabinets also seem to negate a more light and airy atmosphere, why not go with almond? The lighting is nice, except, I would have chosen, again a lighter color for the spot lights. Best part is that canine cutie at the end.🐕

Not necessarily, but the size of that table is out of scale compared to sofa and the amount of chairs. If six people were to sit at that table, the silverware, glasses and flatware wouldn’t fit comfortably. That wouldn’t look expensive at all.
