  • When Daniel Roseberry was appointed the creative director of Schiaparelli just a little over a year ago, the designer was set to step into some of fashion's biggest shoes by taking creative helm of one of the world's best-known couture houses.
Now, two seasons into his tenure, the house is inviting fans into his atelier with a fascinating new film. Schiaparelli: The Next Chapter follows Roseberry 10 months after his move from the United States to Paris, where he is finishing off his second couture collection for the house.
"Schiaparelli is this incredibly magical world, where everything feels possible," Roseberry says. "The mission of this brand is really to inspire people."
From how the brand's past continues to inspire each and every design, respecting the tradition and the codes of the house to how Roseberry is looking to the future with Schiaparelli, step inside the fascinating world of couture by watching the film in full above.

Roseberry does justice to Elsa's legacy and has struck the perfect balance between being referencial and innovative. As a long-standing fan of the house, I am excited to see where he will take Schiaparelli going forward.

      No he doesn't !
She was my great great grand aunt and she would cry if she saw what her style has become.
      This is ridiculous.
Also this is not Schiaparelli, this is daniel roseberry. This is like if i made a painting and signed it Da Vinci. Schiaparelli didn't make the gowns therefore they are not Schiaparelli.
People are stupid. Gaultier is Gaultier, Rolland is Rolland, Westwood is Westwood, but Chanel is not Chanel, Dior is not Dior, YSL is not YSL, Balmain is not Balmain, Mcqueen is not Mcqueen and Schiaparelli is not Schiaparelli.
Do you know the painting, this is not a pipe, well this is exactly the same thing. This is not Schiaparelli.
What is the difference between daniel making clothes and stitching the Schiaparelli to them and some people in China making the same design and stitching the Schiaparelli label to it.
Besides i have been to China and the people making so called "fakes" there are so skilled, they really could work in a Parisian atelier. I have been to those ateliers and half the staff is from Asia anyway, mostly Japan, because they have the best hands in the world and Haute Couture houses go to Japan every year to recruit the staff.

Completely agree, I’m so glad the fashion industry is starting to include more black models, certain colours just look flawless with dark skin, in a way that wouldn’t be the same on light skin. Love it

Sadly only success these days in the fashion world is in sale figures and people who buy luxury clothes treats fashion like a status symbol, it doesn't matter if the design is ugly or lack creativity, as long as some celebrities wear or carry them, they'll buy it.

My darling! I'm in love! Truly the designers who can illustrate and design with a creative vision that they create are at another level.

Well, Thom Browne can’t illustrate but he is rather good!

    • @ObservingtheMatrix
      @ObservingtheMatrix 2 роки тому

@@erique_k he is litterally in that .5 percentile of those who can darling. If you work in fashion you'd know that most of these teams are filled with those prolific illustrators. Who are great designers because you have to show a portfolio to get a job.
Somehow we do have a generation of these Raf Simmons types who hire other people to create ideas and then call themselves "curators".
In couture you can't "curate" cut or construction. You can't curate the knowledge to let the bias of a fabric hang for days before you cut it or the intention of how to drape it afterward.
Thom is a great showman, but he works within his framework. 90 percent of the elements he creates are repeated and apart of an ongoing dialog which actually makes my point. Designers who can illustrate can dream up and instantly communicate their vision to a team.
The perfect expression of this is Galliano and Karl.
None of these designers will ever touch Karl because you can't produce at that level when you have to rely on others to create the idea and then go through the tedious process of picking through thousands of sketches that aren't yours to come up with ideas. 🤷🏾‍♂️
Hense what we have at Chanel now.🤮

she was my great great grand aunt and she would cry if she saw what her style has become.

I have never, ever liked the 1 sleeve look. That’s not original, someone already did that. Truth

Signs of the times. Gender mixtures, making a comic of women and her beautiful body. Desancturizing the woman and making her an object of modern art.
