I stayed in Moscow for a few weeks during the summer of 2017 and took the subway everyday (most beautiful metro stations) I have ever come across in my life. Then went and spent a few weeks in Saint Petersburg (stayed on Nevsky Prospekt) and not once taken the metro :-( with regret- instead I walked and took the Uber everywhere.
Gorgeous, and very wonderful that the people and leaders in your part of the world respect and keep these beautiful works open, restored and operating. There were beautiful train/rail terminals in so many cities in the USA, but we some how only honor "new" and more advanced buildings. At least in some outposts (even here) we can find cool old buildings.
Survived? 😁 Dachas are the summer gardens people were and still coming in a weekends got some gardening, bath house (banya) and barbecue. Survived! lol I was giving lots of insights into the dacha of my in-laws
